Crib Goch a dog and a quad
Crib Goch is an arete (a narrow ridge: a sharp rocky mountain ridge mainly caused by glacial erosion) in Snowdonia National Park in Wales. Although it is only 923 meters above sea level, even experienced climbers can lose their lives on it. In any case, the spectacular scenery using a four-rotor radio-controlled helicopter, "Quadcopter," is very pleasant. Also, the dog walks around too much!
High Above, The Scottish Highlands
This short film was shot over two weeks in Scotland, using the higher-resolution GoPro 4, Canon 600d, and Phantom 2 (drone). It's clear that something revolutionary is happening in the world of film right now, as footage like this can be shot with minimal equipment. The locations where the footage was shot are as follows:
00:00 – Lochinver
00:14 – Sunrays at the Torridon pass
00:45 – Isle of Skye mountain range from Applecross
01:06 – Suilven
01:31 – Torridon Town
– Ardvreck Castle
Lochinver Harbor
– Loch Torridon
02:33 – Applecross Pass
02:46 – Family of Deer near Applecross
03:02 – Loch Torridon Seagulls
03:43 – River Inver
03:53 – Abhainn Clas an Eas Waterfall
04:10 – Clachtoll Beach to River Inver
04:30 – Stoer Lighthouse
05:15 – Suilven Sunset
05:38 – Stars over Annat
Ice Climbing Frozen Niagara Falls
This video highlights the first ice climb of Canadian world-renowned climber Will Gadd (with partner Sarah Hueniken) in January 2015, when he made the first ice climb of Niagara Falls, the world's most famous waterfall on the US-Canada border. It's already crazy enough, but the fact that he's only 47 years old is simply unbelievable. For more details, please see this article (in English) .
Breathtaking POV Wingsuit Flight from Mt. Kilimanjaro
This is the second video I've been watching. It shows Russian BASE jumping (a sport where you parachute from a high place such as a building or cliff) specialist Valery Rozov, performing the world's first wingsuit dive (a special jumpsuit with fabric stretched between the hands and feet) from Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. The origin of the name BASE is apparently B = Building, A = Antenna, S = Span, and E = Earth (natural features such as cliffs)
Barre des Ecrins – French Alps
This beautiful nature short film was shot on HD camera at the Barre des Ecrins, the main peak of the Ecrins mountain range in the western Alps in southeastern France. It's a mountaineering mecca on a par with Chamonix, but it's less touristy, so you can enjoy a quieter climb. Even so, the majestic nature of Europe is so breathtakingly powerful that it makes your spine spine spine
Wetness
This short film features the sound of mountain bikes racing down the trails. It was produced by Coastal Crew, a mountain bike collective based in British Columbia, Canada
Sierra Nevada High Country John Muir Trail
This short film chronicles the John Muir Trail, a 340km trail (wildlife trail) that connects Yosemite National Park in central California to Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. There are many such "long trails" connecting long mountain passes in the United States, and they are not just a tourist attraction; they are also highly appealing as an adventure that allows you to relive the history and culture of America, a country that has lived in harmony with nature. Even today, they continue to capture the hearts of outdoor enthusiasts in Japan
