Colombia is a comprehensive outdoor brand founded in 1938 . Colombia which has been around for 80 years since its birth, has been renovated from an old 100-year-old house in Kyoto, the ancient capital. Based on the philosophy of inheriting Japanese traditions as they change, the Columbia Kyoto store opened on Friday, September 20, 2019 and launched the Columbia KYOTO Project.
The concept of the Columbia Kyoto store is "history, culture and outdoors."
This store has been renovated with minimal modifications, retaining the structure and atmosphere of the 100-year-old Kyoto townhouse, and the plastered exterior walls unique to Kyoto continue to follow the original Kyoto townhouse appearance while still creating an outdoor feel.
There is also a permanent courtyard inside the store that gives a sense of the atmosphere of a Kyoto machiya.
The entrance to the private house is used as the store entrance. In addition, there will be a cash register counter made from old wood, a fitting room, and a display space where Columbia's archive items can be displayed using old boat boards. The light-equipped courtyard, which is a distinctive feature of Kyomachiya, is also part of the store.
A charming cash register counter that uses old wood from renovations.
A display space for boat boards that displays fishing vests from the 1970s.
The brands we carry are Columbia , Columbia Black Label , and Sorell .
The Columbia Kyoto store inherits traditional Japanese culture and gives you a sense of cutting-edge outdoors.
History, culture and the outdoors. A new wind seems to flow from the new harmony.
