Great for camping or casual outdoor activities! Professional-grade, authentic coffee sharing set
How about the nCamp Authentic Coffee Share Set, which is based on the concept of "carrying an authentic cafe in your backpack" and will turn your location into a cafe wherever you are?
When you go camping, you probably go through a phase where you want to make delicious coffee using tools and methods that are unique to the outdoors. Now that I have a family and am becoming completely addicted to camping, I feel that way
I believe that humans are the kind of creatures who, even though they don't really understand the taste, want to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with coffee using the right tools. The all-in-one stovetop espresso coffee maker made by nCamp
Speaking of nCamp their "All-in-One Solo Fire Pit" . It was a different item at the time, but I saw it with my own eyes and could tell it was high quality. I was personally looking forward to seeing it in Japan, so when I heard about the arrival of this new product, I was as happy as meeting an old friend (I found out later that this item itself had been on the market since last year).
I immediately asked Matelia Inc., the company taking on this project, if I could use it
What I like about the nCamp Coffee Share Set
- A compact stovetop espresso coffee maker optimized for backpackers and campers
- In addition to the coffee maker, the set also includes an insulated bottle and four insulated cups, making it perfect for families or groups to enjoy
- Lightweight and compact yet sturdy (height 24cm / diameter 8.6cm / weight 590g)
- Large enough to make espresso for 3-4 people (or one mug) at a time
- Made of durable, safe, and scratch-resistant stainless steel, it's well-made and easy to take outdoors
- Easy to use - just add coffee beans and water and heat
- High versatility, as it can be heated on a regular outdoor stove (and even more stable when used in conjunction with the company's "nCamp Stove")
- Easy to clean as all parts can be disassembled and washed (simple structure makes it less likely to break down)
I tried making it at camp right away
The product for sale in this Makuake project is a set that includes the coffee maker itself (center of the photo below: integrated mug), a 710ml insulated bottle (left of the photo below), and an insulated cup with storage case (right of the photo below). All you need to make coffee is water, ground beans, and a stove
The coffee maker disassembled. By the way, if you just want to make coffee, this coffee maker is all you need, so if you want to travel with minimal luggage on a solo hike or solo camping trip, you can just carry the coffee maker. You don't even need a mug
However, this mug is insulated, wrapped in insulating rubber, and is large and very easy to use, so it could probably be used as a cooker as is
The photo below explains how a stovetop espresso coffee maker makes coffee. However, the mechanism itself is the same as a regular stovetop espresso maker (makinetta)
First, the "Lower Chamber" filled with water is heated, and the heated water turns into steam, passes through the "Funnel," and then, under pressure, passes through the coffee beans placed on top of the "Funnel," and accumulates in the "Upper Chamber." Once all the water has accumulated in the Upper Chamber, the coffee is ready
The nCamp works in the same way as a moka pot, but is lightweight and compact enough to be portable, without sacrificing taste or ease of use by using titanium or other materials to make it too light. It can be said to be a well-balanced piece of outdoor gear
First, pour water into the "Lower Chamber." I tried using this insulated bottle the day before, carrying a lot of ice-filled water on a day hike in temperatures approaching 30 degrees Celsius. It kept the water cool enough that the ice didn't melt until the afternoon. Of course, it can also keep water warm, so if you put brewed coffee in it, you can always enjoy hot coffee in the winter
The height at which water should be added is just below the safety valve used to adjust the pressure
After pouring in the desired amount of water, place the "Funnel" and then place the coffee beans on top
The amount of beans you put in is a matter of personal preference, but it's best not to fill it to the brim at most, but to leave a little room to maneuver
Once you've added the beans, cover
Once the lid is on, rotate the "Upper Chamber" from above to set it in place. The rubber gasket built into the "Upper Chamber" tightly seals the upper and lower cups, allowing pressure to be transmitted
All you have to do is put it on the fire as usual. Depending on the size of the trivet, it may become unstable. It is tall, so you need to be careful when putting it on the fire
By the way, the size is perfect for the company's nCamp stove (photo below: currently difficult to obtain in Japan...)
After a while on the heat, the water will start to boil and steam will begin to come out. Then, with a nice sound, the coffee will be pushed out by the pressure into the "Upper Chamber" and spray out! The video below gives a quick summary of what happens
The pleasant sound of steam echoes beneath the magnificent scenery
Outdoor espresso made over an open flame is a coffee that can be enjoyed with all five senses, not just the aroma and taste, but also the sound and visuals
This seems to be a common specification for stovetop espresso makers, but you generally can't see inside. With the nCamp, you can open the lid with a bit of effort, but you can't tell if the hot water underneath has run out, so it looks like you'll just have to rely on a rough guide and the sound. When I opened the lid as shown in the photo below, coffee had been successfully extracted! The moment I opened it, the aroma of coffee hit me instantly. This is espresso
Of course, you can drink the coffee in the included mug, but this project also comes with four espresso-sized insulated cups for easily sharing espresso outdoors. The handles don't get hot even when heated, so you can quickly divide the extracted coffee into cups... and enjoy!
The taste is strong and punchy, just like espresso! But it's a flavor that can only be made with this coffee maker, and coffee made outdoors is delicious!
The great thing about this coffee maker set is that all parts can be disassembled and washed for easy cleaning
A quick wipe is enough when you're at the site. After you bring it back, just wash it thoroughly in the sink and it'll always be clean. Its simple structure makes it unlikely to break down, and even if it does, you can adjust it yourself, which is an essential feature for good outdoor gear
Summary: With just one machine, you can enjoy a coffee experience that is unlike anything you've ever experienced before, with all five senses
With the nCamp Coffee Maker, you can enjoy espresso coffee with all five senses - the taste, aroma, sound, and scenery - creating a truly special moment outdoors. This item is packed with the attention to detail and essence of its developer, who is also an outdoor enthusiast. What's great is that it's not just convenient for outdoor situations, but is also of a quality that can be used at home. The nCamp Coffee Share Set's ease of use and quality of construction have made it a great addition to our household's everyday life, and even during our stay-at-home camping trips
