In the cold winter, when it's easy to even go outside, there are probably many people who end up being modest when running.
But when you actually drive, there are few people, it's not easy to sweat, the atmosphere is pleasant, and winter is so good that it makes you think it's the best season.
However, in order to enjoy the benefits, you need to prepare more than usual. That's wear for winter runs.
If you wear warm clothes that aren't cold even if you start running, it's hot and you'll want to take it off quickly after 10 minutes of running. Of course, there is also the issue of preference that I really hate the cold when I start running rather than the heat during the run.
In any case, in order to comfortably ride winter trail runs, it is important to have highly functional clothing and gear that will ease the cold at the start, while still remaining comfortable even during the ride.
So this time, we'll be reporting on my impressions of actually running CROSS RUN , and the ADV SKIN CROSS SEASON 15

Detailed Review: ADV SKIN CROSS SEASON 15
Tough structure resistant to cold and rain and snow
Backpacks for trail running, designed for spring and autumn, focus on lightness, fit, breathability and quick drying, so their strength and durability against rain and wind are often secondary. In contrast, this backpack is based on the construction of a typical running hydration vest, and is made to be comfortable not only in good weather from spring to autumn, but also in all conditions all year round, including rainy weather and snowy seasons.
For example, the fabric is made of water-repellent ripstop nylon, and a dry bag-style compartment made of waterproof fabric is placed on the back, and seam sealing is applied to the seams to prevent flooding as much as possible.
Furthermore, the zippers used here and there are waterproof and extremely weather-resistant. If there is a little rain, the contents will not get wet, and there is no need to worry about them getting soaked in even if you place the pack on the snow.
The entrance to the main compartment is simple and lightweight roll top. The entrance opens wide, allowing you to take it out quickly, and it also has a high airtightness, making it less likely to cause water flooding.
Based on the bestselling ADV SKIN, it has excellent fit, mobility and stability, making it a great carry experience
I have always believed that the key to comfort is how the vest-shaped backpack supports the upper body with a surface, and how its "side" fits evenly with the lines of your body and is flexible in movements without shifting or shaking. In that sense, the ADV SKIN series , which is well-known for its excellent fit, stability and ease of movement created by its unique SensiFit™ , and gives you a comfortable carrying experience as you would expect.
The shoulder strap is shaped in a three-dimensional shape to fit firmly from the shoulder to the front, and is wide and voluminous, and gently wraps around its wide area. The shoulder strap also uses an elastic elastic cord, and the tightness can be adjusted in one place using the same cord lock as the quick lace used in SALOMON shoes (photo below). Unlike belt-type straps, I like the exquisite tension that makes your chest less likely to become cramped during intense exercise, allowing you to breathe easily.
The fabric that touches the skin is made of a three-dimensional honeycomb mesh fabric all over the surface. Moderate stretch and mesh breathability is always good.
The coarse mesh fabric is placed in double layers, and the sides of the body are stretchy.
Also, highly elastic fabric is placed on the sides of the body, so it follows the movements of your body firmly whether you twist your body or turn your arms, providing excellent stability.
The armpits are stretchy fabric to enhance your ability to follow movements.
Larger capacity than it looks, with easy storage capacity for easy access
In winter, you tend to have a lot of luggage, such as winter clothing, heat-retaining bottles, and even chain spikes. Many people may find that the capacity is not enough for the 10 liters or less, which they use for their regular day trips. In this respect, this model has a highly flexible capacity that can be expanded from 11 to 20 liters thanks to its roll-top structure.
The main compartment is designed so that the bottom area becomes wider as you move upwards, and the center of gravity is higher near the shoulder.
The V-shaped shape, which widens as you go up the pack, increases the center of gravity and builds load around the shoulders, making it even more stable to drive.
The main storage is a roll-top entrance. Generally, it has the disadvantage of opening and closing the product, but there is a dry bag-style compartment that can be easily accessed by a waterproof zipper right next to it, so in addition to hydration bladders, rain gear, and other items you want to take out immediately can be stored here (photo below). Therefore, there are no small disadvantages to the roll-top type. It is also heat-insulated and has a highly airtight storage, so it does not easily freeze in the cold. However, I was a little concerned that the ventilation on the back has been slightly hindered.
By the way, the setting method for this hydration is the same as the ADV SKIN series, but unlike other backpacks, this is smart. Instead of letting the hydration tube out from above, it is designed to pass under the armpits inside the shoulder harness, so the tube line is naturally set around the mouth, making it easy to drink and the tube does not hang out (photo below).
A wide range of external pockets that are easy to use in movement
This storage area has the most impact on the usability of the running pack. However, it's not that it's better to have more storage, but it's inconvenient to have too little storage. It is important that the storage space is just the right size for the right place, and that you can easily access it while standing, even when you are on the move.
the ADV SKIN CROSS SEASON 15 have four symmetrical pockets. From the top, 1) mesh pocket, 2) soft flask pocket, 3) large zip pocket, 4) large mesh pocket (photo below).
The small mesh pocket at the top can hold small gels and tablets. An emergency whistle is also stored in the mesh pocket on the left (photo below).
The soft flask pocket is thin and deep, so it fits perfectly with the original Salomon 500ml flask (photo below). The elastic cord is also sturdy to prevent it from falling out. By the way, the pocket entrance is conscious even when wearing gloves in the winter, and the large trim makes it easier to put in and take them out.
The large zip pocket prevents water from getting inundated to some extent, making it convenient for storing things you don't want to get wet, such as gloves, sweat wipes, and smartphones. The mesh stretch pocket on the outside is convenient for storing gels, snacks, etc. (photo below).
The shoulder strap has two drawcords on the top and bottom, allowing you to secure one trekking pole on either side of the left or right. You can work without having to remove the pack, so time loss and stress during your actions can be reduced as much as possible.
There is also a large mesh pocket on the front (side). It is convenient for storing gloves, beanies, etc.
Interestingly, the entrance is on the left and right, but it is actually connected at the bottom, so you can use it in a smart way by pushing the rain jacket in and quickly putting your hand on your back in case of an emergency (photo below).
Finally, in addition to using the drawcord on the outside of the front for compression when there are fewer luggage, it is also convenient for fixing the pole when not in use for long periods of time, such as by approaching.
Detailed Review: CROSS RUN
Ideal silhouette and comfortable to wear for running
From spring to autumn, you can enjoy activities without feeling cold by combining shorts alone or running tights with shorts, but as winter approaches, the wind hitting your lower body will start to feel cold even in low mountains. Long pants are definitely useful.
Personally, I don't really like the exposed winter squats because although they are easy to run, I still have a chilly feeling like the cold wind is hitting me and my skin is directly stolen from the heat. That's why I want to wear pants in winter (even over my spats) if possible.
However, it is also difficult to abandon the goodness of the spats, which is a comfortable fit that is not fluttering. this CROSS RUN has a smart design that combines the ease of running with the spats and the comfort of wearing pants. Despite the beautiful silhouette of the legs tapered along the ankles, the moderate room around the hips and thighs creates a relaxed, natural feel. As for the size, I think it's because I have a slim waist and a long body shape (height: 176cm, weight: 64kg), but when I chose the perfect waist, I was about 9/9 length. It's probably within the acceptable range, rather than a little short.
The upper is made of a hybrid fabric that combines a stiff yet stretchy woven fabric, and a knit that is highly fit and stretchy from the knees to the ankles. Both have smooth surfaces and smooth legs (photo below).
Exceptional ease of movement due to elasticity and three-dimensional cutting
During the trail run where the lower body moves quickly, the slightest resistance to pants is also a concern. In that sense, the pants had almost no complaints about the mobility required of the pants for such intense movements. It could be said that everything responds to a high level.
The S size is ultra-lightweight at 178g, with roomy uplift and high elasticity with 4-way stretch, making it difficult to feel any tightness when worn, and there is no stress at all when bending or stretching your feet.
Furthermore, the gusset crotch placed in the crotch is not sturdy or grounded even when it comes to large movements thanks to the skillful three-dimensional cutting. You can also raise your legs largely on rocky areas without hesitation.
The waist is made of flat elastic for a better fit, while the elastic strings allow for an adjustable fit, allowing for a suitable fit for a wide range of body types.
When you actually drive, the tapered tapered from below the knee to the hem, making it easy to walk safely, quickly and lightly. It is also extremely breathable and does not cause heat or moisture to build up at all. Even during the warmer days, it was comfortable and didn't get stuffy.
On the other hand, it is important to note that these pants are not particularly resistant to cold or rain and wind (I thought they were used for winter because they were released in autumn and winter without my permission). Because it is easy to remove and quick-dry, it is not expected to be windproof or water-repellent, so we recommend using inner tights to keep warm, and windshell pants and rain pants to prevent rain and wind.
Easy-to-use pockets without compromising the smart design
There are hand pockets on the front, and zipper pockets on the back, providing convenient storage for both relaxing and running.
Summary: Recommended for people like this
Both the backpacks and pants introduced this time are new items for autumn and winter, but I feel that this is not something that you would think of as a "winter" item, but is suitable for people who want to use it comfortably all year round.
The ADV SKIN CROSS SEASON 15 combines lightness, water resistance and durability, and is well-assembled as a normally durable trail running backpack, and is characterized by the features that can be fully utilized for speed hiking and scrambling, which are intended for tougher situations.
On the other hand CROSS RUN is a very thin, lightweight, and breathable quick-drying pants when worn alone, so if you wear them alone, it's the best season to be in seasons where the cold is not severe, such as spring and autumn. In the cold season, pairing tights with your inner layer will provide just the right amount of heat retention and quick-drying properties, so you can use it comfortably all year round.
