Was it born from the latest GORE-TEX technology "running climbing boots" or "tough running shoes"?
On Japanese trails where there are many cases where rain is overflowing, muddy roads and branches, it is common for shoes to get wet. I'm a fan of breaking through the water line when climbing the river, but if I wear trail running shoes, I'm sure it's "bad." This fall, innovative shoes have been released that will make you look forward to driving on rough roads.
It's SALOMON SENSE RIDE GORE-TEX® INVISIBLE FIT. has been added to the SALOMON SENSE RIDE , a classic that can be used to run for long distance trail runs or day hikes due to its quirky, fatigue-free and inability to get injured
And this isn't just waterproof. GORE-TEX's latest shoe technology, GORE® Invisible Fit , and is said to have the characteristics of adding high protection from mountaineering boots and the driving performance of running shoes, dividing them by two. I can't help but hope for this.
SENSE RIDE on a wet route that runs along the stream of Nishi-Tanzawa, and tested its running and ride comfort.
During the test run, I wore the traditional SENSE RIDE and the left and right sides at the same time to see if there were any differences.

Features of SENSE RIDE GORE-TEX® INVISIBLE FIT
The limits of GORE-TEX running shoes up to date
Heavy, rough, poor breathability...I think that the traditional GORE-TEX running shoes were more of an image than models that were not. That was true compared to typical running shoes, so for runners who want to focus on running, there were too many factors that they had to sacrifice due to their waterproofness.
This was the structural problem in which traditional GORE-TEX shoes lining a booty membrane separate from the upper fabric. This structure reduces the fit, especially near the toes where the fabric is collected, and the moisture that is likely to remain between the membrane and the upper material prevents weight and moisture, which was a major obstacle to overcome in order to pursue performance as a running shoe.
"GORE® Invisible Fit" technology has a new natural feel that makes you forget that it is waterproof.
advanced GORE® Invisible Fit technology, the GORE-TEX membrane is crimped to the upper material and is completely integrated, making it the same structure as a normal, non-waterproof shoe.
At first glance, it doesn't seem to be a complete difference from the outside, but there have been many improvements on the inside, and the size is immeasurable.
I was surprised that I didn't feel the cramped feeling like I was wearing socks on the forefoot, which is common with GORE-TEX shoes There is room around the toes, allowing you to move freely. The subtle but pleasant feeling of the movement of your fingers and the movement of your upper in a natural way is something that was unconventional with non-waterproof shoes, but this was something that I never thought of with previous GORE-TEX shoes. This is the easiest evolution to be achieved by crimping, resulting in a single piece of structure, and the wrinkles, creases and overlapping of the fabric are eliminated
Although it has a single piece structure, the addition of a membrane layer gives the impression of a slight thickness compared to SENSE RIDE However, even if you subtract that, the creases and stiffness that occur when you bend your toes are almost the same as regular running shoes. In the first place, SENSE RIDE itself is a very flexible and fit shoe.
The left is the normal SENSE RIDE, and the right is the SENSE RIDE GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit. Other than the GORE-TEX tab on the side, it is completely indistinguishable from the appearance.
SENSE RIDE the fabric used for the upper is a soft, breathable mesh material and TPU crimping, making it light, flexible and durable. In addition, the "SENSIFIT™" fit that wraps around your entire foot is still in good condition even when the waterproof version is intact.
However, although there are minor differences, this version does not include the ENDOFIT™, which has previously improved the tongue meshing and the fit and stability of the arch. After being considered during development, it seems that it was better to remove the feature due to its structure, but personally I liked it, so it's a shame that it's gone. For this reason, if you want to get the tight support and fit that has been around for the past, I think you should consider an original insole.
In this GORE-TEX version, the Endo Fit™ (right), which enhances the sense of unity between the foot inside the shoe (right), is gone.
I also tried running on rainy weather and on the edge of the water. Of course, even if the entire shoe is submerged, there will be no flooding at all if it is below the ankle. This is a regular GORE-TEX shoe, and there is no moisture left between the upper fabric and the membrane, making it less likely to feel the weight of the wetting. This also improves quick drying.
As expected from GORE-TEX. If it's just the water flowing through the stream, it won't get flooded at all.
Evolved quick shoelaces
SALOMON shoes' classic "quick shoelaces" have been secretly and dramatically evolved from this fall model. is easier to tighten and loosen, incomparable to previous operations This ease of use is incredible and has never been more impressive than any code lock before, and if you haven't yet yet, it's definitely worth trying out in store.
The conventional quick shoe (left) requires a reverse force to loosen, but with the new model (right) you can loosen it by simply pulling it in the direction of loosening.
A midsole with excellent stability that allows you to ride happily without worrying about damage
matter what you think SENSE RIDE is that it has a premium sole structure that makes it comfortable for any runner's long ride. The fact that this shoe is still intact even after its waterproof version has expanded the value and possibilities of this shoe to the fullest extent.
First, Vibe Technology, which combines the midsole "Energycell+" that combines high cushioning and high rebound properties, and "OPAL" which has a slight vibration absorption function, absorbs and reduces the impact caused by landing, and also absorbs and reduces vibrations that can lead to fatigue and injuries , allowing you to run comfortably all the way to the end even on long distances and long runs.
Energycell+ (left) midsole that combines high cushioning and high rebound properties, and OPAL (right) midsole that has a slight vibration absorption function
The 27mm heel thickness provides high cushioning that even beginners can use On the other hand, the 19mm front part allows for a delicate touch, while the "Profeel Film" located inside softens the thrust from the ground and covers the thinness.
The boat-bottom rocker shape curves gently from the heel to the toe , allowing for natural and smooth walking.
Looking from the side you can see a curve that slowly rises from the toes. Both the normal and GORE-TEX versions have the exact same sole structure.
Excellent grip performance even on wet terrain
Outer sole resistant to wet roads. A lug pattern with an effective arrangement that allows you to hold firmly against the front and back, front and back.
is made of the exact same "Contagrip® Premium Wet Traction" as the material of the outer It has an all-round lug pattern that can accommodate a variety of movements, front and back, left and right, including stepping brakes and side kicks. As expected during the test run, it was highly gripping performance on wet monoliths and on loose muddy slopes
Summary: Recommended for people like this
With the highest level of driving performance as high-end running shoes, the SALOMON SENSE RIDE GORE-TEX® INVISIBLE FIT is addictive to trail running, taking into consideration bad weather and poor roads. Because it's comfortable to ride, it's not much different from regular trail running shoes, so it's useful on trails regardless of the weather, so it should be one of the most promising options when running on unknown courses. It is also recommended that trail running beginners who have previously been mainly road-based can get used to the mountains.
On the other hand, if the waterproof function is so strong, we can actively recommend it even if you are not the one who runs. I think the healthy legs are perfect for fast packing, long trails, and day hiking. I have been wearing lightweight hiking shoes for day hiking, but I'm thinking of switching to this one.
