Ambassador check out Workman's new autumn/winter releases! [2] I tried out some winter rainwear that could be used for hiking in winter

The troublesome thing about mountain climbing in winter is the cold rain. Once it gets wet, the clothing does not dry out easily, contains moisture, and is devoid of coldness. I've come away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and even though I've come to the mountains, my excitement has subsided. In some cases, it can lead to hypothermia, so it's not a bit frank. However, I can't just pack my clothing all over, and I already have a lot of clothing when climbing in the winter, making it bulky and serious. That said, of course, when choosing clothing for winter mountain climbing, you should be concerned about water repellency and cold protection. This time we'll introduce you to Workman wear that you'll want to add to your winter clothing.

AEGIS Cold Protection Rain Jacket (Outdoor Recommendation Level ★★★★☆) 3,900 yen

Water repellent◎ Wind resistance◎ Thermal retention◎ Feel to the touch◯ Stretch◯ Breathability◯

He is an excellent student in windproofing and cold protection, making it difficult to feel outside air. The lining is fleece, so I thought it would be difficult to move around, but it also seemed easy to move around. The waterproof zipper has a nice detail.

Fleece lining with a smooth feel. In addition to its heat retention, it has a decent moisture permeability, so it didn't feel like it was stuffy.

A warm-height rain jacket made of fleece lining, making it look warm. What's more, it is compatible with rain with a water pressure of 10,000mm. The fleece lining is soft to the touch, and is windproof and cold-resistant. It's like a jacket made from a fleece that has excellent heat retention and a rain jacket. The front and chest pockets have waterproof zippers to prevent rain from entering. The hem has a non-slip to prevent it from turning up, making it difficult for cold air to enter. Despite its heat retention, the moisture permeability is 8,000g/m2/24h, so there was no feeling that the heat was extremely insufficient. It should be quite useful in cold winter months, low mountains around 1500m. It comes with a hood, so it looks great even on cold, rainy days.

Put the water from the tap as hard as you can. Play it in such an interesting way. It's truly a 10,000mm water resistance.

The hem has elastic non-slip. Protects from the intrusion of outside air.

AEGIS Cold Protection Rain Pants PERFECT (Outdoor Recommendation Level ★★★★☆) 2,500 yen

Water repellent◎ Wind resistance◎ Thermal retention◎ Feel to the touch◯ Stretch◯ Breathability◯

The legs are light and easy to adjust. When I climbed, the back of my knees were slightly sweaty and the fleece lining felt a bit clingy, but it was within the acceptable range.

It feels like I tried wearing it. Honestly, it's fine. I think this is fine. The fleece lining makes it comfortable to wear and intuitive. The West Adjuster is a rare type with left and right velcro belts, and does not have a zipper. All-direction stretch makes the legs smooth. First of all, it is certainly effective against cold weather, but not suitable for intense exercise. It would be fine if it was extremely cold, but it may not be suitable for normal climbing (especially uphill). This one also has a moisture permeability of 8,000g/m2/24h, and since it's pants, it's less likely to cause stuffiness than the upper body, but it's a bit sweaty in some parts, and the fleece lining sometimes clings to the back of the knees, which is a bit unpleasant. The durability and water repellent test made it look pretty good. I poured tap water over my feet for about 30 seconds and it bounced off the water quickly. It's a bit challenging, but it might be quite good for climbing snowy mountains.

There's a lot of tap water here too. After continuing for about a minute, the water never soaked.

A velcro West Adjuster that is easy to use with one hand. It has stretching so fine adjustments are enough.

FieldCore Windproof Water Repellent Gloves (Outdoor Recommendation Level ★★☆☆☆) 1,500 yen

Water repellent◎ Wind resistance◯ Heat retention◯ Feel on the skin◯ Stretchability◯ Breathability◯

Windproof and water-repellent with Teflon finish. The size is a little small. The lining is made of heat-inhibiting brushed fabric, making it warm and protects against wind from entering. It can be said that these gloves keep warm even your fingertips warm. However, perhaps due to the amount of fleece lining, it is somehow within the acceptable range of ease of movement. The palms have a smooth rubber, but it's just a relaxing feeling (crying). There is a zippered pocket on the back of my hand, but it's not too big, and in fact I have no idea what to put in. I would like to see some effort into making it easier to move around than pockets. However, the water repellency is quite high. The back of your hands, palms, fingertips, and all water-repellent treatment. There was no water intrusion in the zipper pocket either. It might be good for snowy mountains, but it may be a little unreliable for its cold protection.

It repels water in every way. The inside of the zipper pocket was also not seeped.

You can see that even if you try to catch the water with your palm. It does not seep in, and the bounced water drops downwards.

summary

Preventing rain in winter mountains. Most likely pack rainwear and insulation just in case. This is because the reason why we specialize in rainwear is water repellent and generally have almost no cold protection. When combined with insulation, it prevents heat emitted from the body from escaping, and also prevents outside air from entering, helping to provide effective heat retention. (It may be bulky in some cases, so depending on the weather, the cold weather rain jackets and cold weather rain pants introduced this time seem to be quite useful. This is a noble product that is not advertised as a water pressure resistance of 10,000mm and a moisture permeability of 8,000g/m2/24h. The windproof and water-repellent gloves are also very high. Don't talk about Workman's rainwear without trying it.
