The classic mid-layer R1 created by Patagonia has been renewed! Technical fleece that is more flexible and lighter
Since its release in 1999, the R1, which has been known as a "light", "not stuffy", and "non-bulky" regulator, has been renewed.
The main update is that the fabric used varies depending on the part.
The men's R1 pullover hoodie is made of Polartech Power Grid material, which is used in Caprene Thermal Weights from the back, abdomen, and the armpits to the inner cuffs, and uses the conventional R1 grid structure from the shoulders to the chest and elbows. It's made from a hybrid of the traditional R1 and Caplene thermal weight.
This will weigh 289g (men's), making the R1 pullover hoodie lightweight, down to 300g. It has been successfully reduced the weight by 23g compared to the previous model.
The structure of the fabrics placed on the men's R1 pullover hoodie (left) and the men's R1 jacket (right) is different, so even the same R1 can be used for different purposes.
The R1 comes in four types: jacket, pullover, pullover/hoodie, and vest. When I wore a pullover hoodie, it was very stretchy, making it easy to move around and comfortable to wear. And it's light. This is a highly complete mid-layer that has a balaclava structure hood and thumb holes that are necessary for use in harsh environments, while still maintaining a balanced balance of heat retention and high breathability.
Although it is a mid-layer position, it is possible to use it as underwear, as it is made of thin fabric on the back and abdomen. If we continue to introduce the details like this, it will be a long time, so I will skip it here, but it looks like it will be a very promising renewal.
When I tried on, I felt that the high fit and heat retention of the conventional R1 still remained light. The zipper is long, making it easy to put on and take off
In addition to the R1, R1 Air, and R1 Tech Face, the R1 Thermal Series was released in autumn and winter 2024, and the R1 series has now come in four types. The introduction of the R1 Thermal has also made me excited, but it's worth noting that the R1, the longest-selling R1, has evolved out of the R1 series.
The silhouette is exquisitely sizing and you can see when you wear it! The "Teravia Pants" is a highly mobile phone that has been changed from Point Peak Pants, and the "Men's Teravia Peak Pants" has been released as an improved product
Men's Teravia Peak pants with a clean, slim silhouette. There was a Velcro on the hem (top right), and it could be hooked onto the shoelace to create a gaiter look (bottom right), so it felt very functional as pants.
A new lineup of teravia pants, "Men's Teravia Peak Pants."
Made from mid-weight, highly durable fabric, it is highly stretchy, and the waist is removable and adjustable. These hike pants have features that are highly practical, such as having Velcro at the hem so you can tighten the hem according to the climbing boots and situation, and hooks that hook on the shoelaces to use like a gaiter.
Unfortunately, there were no samples for the Men's Teravia Peak Pants, so I couldn't try them on, but when I tried on the Men's Teravia Alpine Pants instead, I was impressed by the exquisite size and silhouette. It's not too thin or too thick, but when I moved it, it stretches well, making it easy to lift your legs and doesn't interfere with your actions.
I tried on men's teravia alpine pants and was excited by how comfortable they were and how easy they were to move around.
Although the overall texture is supple, the buttocks and hem are made of thick fabric for durability, and the back of the knees, which are less likely to rub, making it a thin fabric, making it easy to wear for long periods of time.
There are three types of hike pants, named "Teravia," so Outdoor Gearzine is also interested in the characteristics and different uses of each. I would like to continue comparing them if I get the chance.
NanoAir Ultra Light is a new active insulation product from the NanoAir series.
New releases from the Nano Air series, which once you experience its comfort, good balance between heat retention and breathability, will be impossible to let go.
In addition to the existing 60g full-range insulation nanoair and 40g full-range insulation nanoair hybrid, the new NanoAir Ultralight series is 20g full-range insulation. This is the thinnest insulation in the series, but as a result, it is breathable and portable, making it a piece that can be used all year round as a wearer in the cold early spring, late autumn and early winter, and as a winter wear in the hot summer season. Another attractive feature is that it weighs 249g (men's), which is lightweight.
The cuffs are made of Capreen Cool Lightweight fabric, making it easier to lift.
The lineup includes two types: a full zip hoodie and a pullover. The pullover with abandoned hood was also quite attractive. Traffic congestion in the hood is a problem when it comes to layering. If you prioritize keeping the core parts of your body warm, pullovers are likely to be an option. There is no hood and the zipper is short, and the weight is lighter at 218g (men's).
Pullover. It has a double zipper for increased breathability, and the zipper is long and easy to put on and take off
A lightweight backpack that does not compromise comfort, Teravia Pack 36L
The Teravia Pack 36L was distinctive in a spring-like yellow color. The fit was great when carried
The Teravia Pack 36L has been renewed as a roll-up closure backpack. It's very light when you hold it, weighing 1,066g, making it suitable for fast hikers and UL-oriented hikers.
The capacity is 36L, but the rolling streamer has plenty of room to roll up, so I felt it was bigger than the capacity. It is highly expandable and makes the most of the roll top closure and side compression, making it possible to accommodate a wide range of purposes, from day trips to overnight climbing.
The back and shoulder area are mesh for increased breathability, and the hip belt with pockets can be carried firmly under the back load, making it lightweight yet easy to carry and balanced.
When you carry it on your back, it fits well, making it a great option for people who run quickly or walk for a long time.
I don't think there are many backpacks in the market that can run even with such a large capacity. You can choose from S, M, and L sizes, so you can choose the perfect size to suit your physique.
The back and shoulder area are designed to be breathable, making it easy to lighten without compromising comfort.
Seamlessly in the mountains, rivers, or towns. Patagonia's fly fishing category shirts are hot!
A men's long sleeve, self-guided, hike shirt that is well known for its highly designed design that can be worn both in the city and in the mountains. Did you know that Patagonia's shirts have been added to the lineup?
It was released for the 2024 Fall/Winter season. When I first saw it, I was surprised by the high functionality and design of the Men's River Rambler Hybrid Sun Hoodie. I also introduced this when I told you about the fall and winter exhibition, but I would like to introduce it again before the upcoming hiking season.
Men's River Rambler Hybrid Sun Hoodie (left), Men's Long Sleeve Self-Guided Hike Shirt (right)
The Men's River Rambler Hybrid Sun Hoodie is a product that has emerged from the fly fishing category, but it is perfect for use not only in fly fishing but also in the mountains. Gimmicks are installed everywhere to make it comfortable for users to wear it, such as a removable hood. When the sun is strong or strong winds, you can wear the hood to protect against UV rays and wind, and when you go down from the trail to town, remove the hood to make it the same as a regular shirt.
The raglan sleeves prevent the seams from getting in the backpack, and it has loops that can be used to hook them, such as sunglasses and fosep (a type of pliers used for fishing), and it is packed with useful features, such as a raglan sleeve that prevents the seams from getting caught.
It seems like it will become a new standard for trail shirts, along with the classics, men's long sleeves, self-guided hike shirts.

The mountain bike category products are perfect for easy movement of your arms! Perfect for fishing in the mountains! ?
Men's dirt romer storm jacket with room around the arms and slim waistline.
Although I don't ride a Mauten bike, when I put the sleeves on it, the arms are slightly looser and the waist is slim fit. This is a mountain bike that produces speed, and while suppressing flapping caused by the wind, it is designed to prevent the movement of your arms when you push the pedal, which may be suitable for fishing from the source. That's what I felt.
I use tenkara fishing (a simple Japanese fishing method that only uses hair bait and fishing rods), but in the basement, I sometimes go on roadless paths, such as hacking the bushes or winding waterfalls. Therefore, it is better to have a higher fit to avoid getting caught on bushes and tree branches, and also to have plenty of room around the arms when casting or when hanging up. This is truly a product for origin fishing. The pocket on the back also seemed good to hold hair burrs and other things.
Trail running shorts that are easy to move and fit
This product is the most popular shorts in the trail running category right now. These unique shorts are an item that is hard to imagine when wearing them at first glance, but the thighs and waist fit the body like spats, and the hips and rise are slightly more roomy to relieve tightness, maintaining a fit like spats, while improving comfort.
Also noteworthy is the original natural sake from Patagonia Provisions that you'll want to take to the mountains.
A 150ml full-time drink size will also be available for sale to make it easy to carry.
Finally, we will introduce sake from Patagonia Provisions, a food collection created by Patagonia.
I knew I made beer and food, but following those, I also worked on sake. The sake we sampled was "Yamamori" and "Hand".
The Yamamori has a mellow mouthfeel, and in comparison, the soil gives a slightly dry impression. We sampled each of them brewed in 2023 and those brewed in 2024, but after a year of aging, the aged sake became even deeper and more flavorful, and we were able to enjoy it.
It was a very delicious sake, so if you like sake, be sure to check it out. Until now, only 720ml was on sale, but starting March, 150ml full-time drinks will also be available, so it is recommended for those who want to take it to the mountains and enjoy it, or for those who want to try out sake.
The world of outdoor gear is becoming more swampy, but the world of sake seems to have become swampy too. This one also seems deep. .
