Check out Patagonia's new autumn/winter 2024 release! This season, there are many new fleece items from the R1 series, light alpine shell jackets made for climbers, and trail shirts that can be used in the mountains and in the city.

I'm sure there are many climbers going out to the mountains in the middle of the mountain climbing season (I would like to go to the mountains too). The days continue to be extremely hot in the lower world, but the fall/winter 2024 season has already begun.

This time, we will be sharing information about how we visited the Patagonia Fall/Winter 2024 exhibition, which was held earlier, and information on new products.

My rough impression was that there were many items that I would want to wear, such as a lightweight alpine shell made for cutting-edge climbers, a jacket that you'll get addicted to once you've worn, a fleece with excellent heat retention, and a shirt full of gimmicks, which made me excited.

Now let's take a look at the exhibition.

The M10 alpine shell jacket made for cutting-edge climbers

The "M10" alpine shell jacket is located in the main location of the exhibition and is a product that is attracting attention just by looking at it (it was amazing when I actually heard the specs).

"M10" means "grade" which indicates the difficulty of mixed climbing, where rocks and ice are swapped one after another.

The "M10" difficulty level is a highly difficult field that only some top athletes can take on in mixed climbing.

The Alpine Shell Jacket, named M10, is the ultimate simple jacket, with the tests being repeated by frontline climbers, and everything they don't need.

Half-zip anorak and full-zip storm jacket with slightly different specifications

Full zip type M10 storm jacket

The lineup includes two types: the M10 anorak, which is worn with a half zipper, and the M10 Storm Jacket, which is fully zippered (for women, only the M10 Storm Jacket).

Regarding the M10 anorak, a new membrane with a very small hole diameter compared to before is used, and is a PFAS-free, three-layer H2No material that allows for high moisture permeability, and the solvent during manufacturing is also PFAS-free.

In addition, the full zip M10 Storm Jacket and M10 Storm Pants are made of PFAS-free, three-layer H2No material, but the lining is made of a different thickness fabric for each lining, which improves breathability.

The thickness of the fabric is 20 denier for the M10 anorak, 30 denier for the M10 Storm Jacket, 7D lining, 30 denier for the outer material of the M10 Storm Pants, 20 denier for the lining, and 20 denier for the lining, and the thickness varies depending on the model.

The M10 Anorak uses thinner fabric, which also makes a difference in weight (300g of anorak and 310g of storm jacket).

If we start to explain the details like this, it will be quite long, so I will skip the details, but this M10 series, made for climbers, leaves only the things we need, nothing we don't need, and is a product that symbolizes the brand philosophy of Patagonia.

New lineup for the R1 series! "R1 Thermal" active fleece with the best heat retention

The "R1" series is famous as an active fleece.

A new lineup has been added to the R1 series. The "R1 Thermal" has the best heat retention and is structured to release heat.

Fine grid structure with lining

Looking at the lining, it has a finer grid structure than the previous R1 jacket, allowing it to efficiently release heat and moisture while keeping it warm.

It's slim fit but doesn't feel oppressive

When I actually put it on, I was surprised at how comfortable it was. That said, many people already know that the R1 is comfortable to wear. . Despite its slim fit and high fit, it is elastic so there is no sense of pressure.

The hood is like a balaclava, so you can also cover the area around the mouth depending on your environment.

Thumb hole. The heat retention can be drastically different depending on whether there is or not.

Also, I am acknowledging that the only R1 pullover hoodie that had a thumb hole in the R1 series up until now was the R1 pullover hoodie, but the R1 thermal hoodie is full zippered and comes with a thumb hole (I'm sure there are many people waiting for this).

The R1 Thermal Series lineup includes hoodies, jackets, pullovers (women's only) and crew (men's only).

Bottoms are available for both men and women.

I love using the R2 jacket, which has now been discontinued. I really like the R2, but it can sometimes feel hot in active scenes.

The R1 thermal has a heat retention power located just between R1 and R2 (current Tech type), and has a heat retention power that is better than R1, and is a series that is better for wearing in active situations than R2.

"DAS Light Foody" is lightweight and has excellent heat retention, like down.

DAS Light Hoodie with a brand-like feel to its colour

The first thing that surprised me when I tried wearing it was "lightness."

From the appearance, it is obvious that it has excellent heat retention, and I imagined that it would also have a heavy feel when worn, but I was surprised at how light it was.

It's hard to imagine a high-quality down jacket, but the DAS Light Hoodie is a synthetic jacket.

Pullmafil insulation is used for the padding, and it warms the moment you put it on (it was hot because it was summer), and in low-altitude areas such as central Tokyo, you'll be fine with just a T-shirt and this DAS light hoodie.

It is supple and lightweight, so it can be worn seamlessly in the mountains and in the city.

When I actually put it on, I was able to see how strong it has heat retention.

It has a huge inner pocket that easily fits gloves, making it a packable jacket that can be used not only for winter ski snowboarding and snow climbing, but also for travel.

The inner pocket that can hold gloves, goggles, etc., which will be included from this time.

I'm glad that the color scheme of the colors also gives off a brand-like feel.

Lots of useful gimmicks! "River Rambler Hybrid Sun Foody"

River Rambler Hybrid Sun Hoodie

The River Rambler Hybrid Sun Hoodie was really appealing, perhaps because it could be worn in a timely manner.

The drawback is that the name is so long that it's hard to remember, but the gimmick hidden inside this shirt made me want to try it out.

The River Rambler Hybrid Sun Hoodie is in the fishing wear category, but it is a product that is sure to be useful not only for fishing, but also for mountain climbing.

Although it is a shirt, it has a removable hood that protects you from the strong sunlight and the wind.

Snap buttons make it easy to put on and take off

Furthermore, when you turn the hem of the shirt over, you will see a cloth sewn on to wipe your sunglasses.

It's a must-have for fishing to use polarized sunglasses, but sunglasses are a must-have item for mountain climbing. I couldn't help but groan at the gimmick that allows you to wipe it off easily even if it gets dirty.

There are also many other features that are easy to use in every detail, such as pockets on both chests and loops that allow you to hook sunglasses and Foceps.

The main material is 100% stretchy woven recycled polyester, but the fabric on the sleeves is different from the shoulders to the wrists. It dries quickly and can be used for a variety of purposes.

The cuffs have no buttons and are like long sleeves, making them easy to pull up.

The snap buttons made it easy to put on and take off, and it was highly elastic and comfortable to wear. Although it is an autumn/winter item, it seems to be useful in the hot season.

Other notable items

NanoAir Light Bottom

Nano Air Light Bottoms have high heat retention and are breathable, making them useful as both activity and cold weather wear. All of the Nano Air series are extremely comfortable to wear, and once you've worn it you won't be able to let go of it.

Long sleeve self-guided sun shirt

In addition to the River Rambler Hybrid Sun Hoodie introduced earlier, the long sleeve self-guided sun shirts that can be used as trail shirts are also worth paying attention.

It is breathable and quick-drying, making it a functional shirt suitable for not only fishing and mountains, but also in multi-sports, and has a design that is casually worn in the city without any discomfort.

Foldable black hole wheeled duffel

The Black Hole Wheeled Duffle series, which is useful for winter skitlips, can be folded by removing the wire inside, making it less bulky when stored in a closet (this is a great help as there is limited storage space).

Interesting backcountry updates in the Snow category

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to take any other photos, but in the Snow category of skiing and snowboarding, new Pants have been released in the backcountry snowwear "Untracked", which uses 100% recycled GORE-TEX3 layer material, PFAS-free and 100% recycled GORE-TEX3 layer material.

In addition, the "Stormstride Jacket" is a light, easy-to-moving, active backcountry hardshell that I love from the previous model, has been updated with sustainable fabric. In addition, the backcountry backpack "Decensionist Snow Pack" which I also love, has been renewed with greater practicality, and there are plenty of new items that will be attracting attention this winter.

summary

Since it was an exhibition of Patagonia, a brand I personally love, I have been participating in a slightly more forward-than-usual position.

Although there were no major updates in the 2024 fall/winter season, it seems like there were many items that made the "I wanted something like this" come true for hikers, runners, skiers, borders, and climbers.

In addition to the new products introduced, there are many other items that can be used seamlessly in a variety of outdoor scenes.

We'll be trying out a lot as soon as new information comes in, so don't miss out on it in the future!
