[Polartec Talk You Can Only Hear Here] Event Archive Video (Part 2) Now Available [9/28 Rab Special - Only a Few Tickets Left!]

The second part of the archived video of the third talk event hosted by Outdoor Gearzine, "All About Polartec," which we reported on the other day, has been released on YouTube!

The second part mainly summarizes the Q&A session. We asked as many questions about Polartec as time allowed. We apologize for the poor editing and the slightly difficult-to-hear audio, but we will continue to improve it in the future, so please bear with us. Please rest assured that the live broadcast was able to be viewed properly, both in terms of image and audio

What is Rab?

The Rab brand was founded in 1981 in the UK by Robert Carrington, who began making high-quality, functional down and sleeping bags in the attic of his home using two sewing machines. His products, reflecting his years of mountain experience and unique ideas, quickly gained popularity among friends and the local mountaineering community. The brand has continued to grow ever since, expanding from down products to a wide range of categories, including sleeping bags, mats, shelters, apparel, and backpacks for a wide range of mountain activities, including mountaineering, alpine climbing, trekking, hiking, running, biking, and skiing. Driven by the motto of "products for use in the world's most extreme environments," the brand is constantly challenging itself with new materials and technological innovations, continually surprising mountaineering enthusiasts worldwide

Rab is one of the most dynamic and noteworthy brands right now, and we would like to take a closer look at the secrets behind its commitment to manufacturing and high quality, what exactly makes it so great, and how it all comes together

The speakers will be Mr. Ishikawa and Mr. Yamazaki from LandR Co., Ltd., the distributor in Japan

As always, the first half of the event will be a live talk with the two of them, followed by some free time for chatting, but this time we will also be selling Rab items, mainly focusing on this season's new products, which LandR carries. We will let you know the details as soon as they are decided, so please wait a little longer

Additional Benefit 1: A souvenir from Rab will be added to all local participants

Our guest, LandR, also made a great effort in preparing for this event, working hard to gather everything from topics to souvenirs from everyone to ensure that all participants had as much fun as possible

everyone who participated on-site was given a luxurious gift, including Rab's multi-functional neck tube, the " Rab tube Rab tubes for everyone, so depending on the number of participants, you may end up with other souvenirs, so if you want a Rab tube, make sure to arrive early.

*This "Rab tube" is an example of a souvenir

Additional benefit 2: In addition to the Rab new product sale, there will also be a small flea market featuring items reviewed by Outdoor Gearzine!

To coincide with this event, we will be holding a sale of Rab's recommended new products for FW23-24, and we will also be selling a few used Outdoor Gearzine items that we have reviewed over the past few seasons, including backpacks, tents, shoes, and snow gear. We are particularly considering bringing a backpack from a certain North American UL brand that we reviewed this spring (although if there are multiple buyers, we will hold a lottery). In any case, we look forward to welcoming you to Nishihara on Thursday, September 28th, so please come along!

This time we will be streaming live online

We are also planning to stream the event live using a Zoom webinar, so we hope to make it possible for those who are unable to attend to watch it without difficulty

We are also currently considering whether online participants will be able to apply to purchase merchandise. We will let you know the results of this investigation as soon as they are finalized, so please stay tuned for further updates

"Our Favorite Hikes" welcomes people from a variety of professions and positions involved in the outdoors in Japan, and aims to be an exciting place where you can meet fellow mountain and gear lovers and have deep interactions. Anyone who has even a slight love for the mountains or the outdoors can have fun, so please feel free to join us! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!
