Is it about time to get standard equipment? New ABS airbags are coming soon

ABS is an instantaneous filling of air by opening the airbag attached to the backpack when it gets caught in an avalanche. A new avalanche prevention backpack that quickly opens and gains buoyancy, reducing the risk of being buried in an avalanche. There are many references on YouTube to see how it actually works, so please take a look at the video below.

In Japan, there are only a limited number of products available, and it seems like it is a high hurdle to become popular, as it requires applications to use gunpowder before using it, but new products are being released one after another in North America and Europe. Representative manufacturers in this category include Backcountry Access, Scott , ABS (back and external systems) , Mammut, Deuter, The North Face, and Black Diamond .

The North Face has announced an ABS system that can be mounted on a backpack that does not have an ABS system (photo below). It's interesting because there is still little comprehensive information in Japan, such as which field will become standard and whether it will be sufficiently safe. Although avalanches are absolutely unsafe, we want to take all the measures that can be done in exchange for life, and we should take, so we hope that an environment is easy to obtain in Japan as well.

Ice climbing version of Trango Cube! ? La Sportiva Trango Ice Cube GTX

It seems that the winter version of the Trango Cube, the light alpine boots that Outdoor Gearzine also uses, is finally available! It's light, easy to walk in, and can hold it firmly even on rocky areas, and has an all-purpose performance, and a stylish design that's not typical of mountain boots, which is recommended. The winter version inherits the characteristics of the Trango Cube, and comes standard with a gaiter and of course also includes insulation, so I can't wait to see when it will arrive in Japan!

FlameStower Candle Charger

BioLite, a camping stove that can be charged over a bonfire, was released in Japan about two years ago, but it seems that it can only be charged through a bonfire, so it has been difficult to use it, but with chargers from this manufacturer that are not available in Japan, it can be charged not only by bonfires or barbecue flames, but also by cookers and candles!

Will Merino wool be the standard material for base layers be a wool x synthetic fiber boom?

According to an executive at icebreaker, one of the leading manufacturers of merino wool apparel, there are already over 140 brands across the United States. This momentum is now real, and from now on, the line between wool and synthetic fibers will become increasingly blurred, and I have a feeling that a new solution will be created that will achieve the best of both worlds with a high balance (photo below is Begans of Norway AKELEIE).This is similar to the conflict between down and synthetic fibers in insulation, and the contrast between leather and synthetic materials in shoes.
