The Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, the largest outdoor gear trade fair in the United States, is currently being held in Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah, USA. This American festive, festival-like atmosphere is always great to see

, we will introduce some items and topics that Gearzine has noticed from the ``next generation'' outdoor gear information announced there ( which is available online

Hard shell (outerwear)

The popularity of Polartec NeoShell material has been on the rise for several years, and its "highly breathable, lightweight, smooth, and easy to move in" trend seems to be accelerating even further. As a result, next season's outerwear will be even lighter, slimmer, more stretchy, and more breathable. And in response to this trend, GORE-TEX has announced a new material, seemingly to compete with NeoShell

New GORE-TEX material "GORE-TEX Products with GORE C-KNIT Backer Technology"

This new outdoor apparel material, "GORE C-KNIT Backer Technology," utilizes a newly developed lining. It uses a
high-density, thin, lightweight circular knit fabric as the lining and is bonded to the GORE-TEX membrane. The
newly developed circular knit lining has an extremely smooth surface, feels comfortable against the skin, and allows for easy slip-on and slip-on. Its
supple feel allows it to move smoothly with the body and is quieter than
conventional 3-layer GORE-TEX products with a knit (tricot) lining, making it comfortable to wear all day. This new material is also up to 10% lighter and up to 15% more breathable than conventional 3-layer GORE-TEX products. Its
soft, supple texture is its greatest feature, providing comfort for enjoying outdoor activities in any weather.

Insulated (synthetic/down) clothing

Until a few years ago, there were clear differences in the properties of different materials, such as "down for temperature regulation (warmth)" and "synthetic fibers for moisture and breathability regulation (it's okay to get wet)," but looking at the trends for next season, we can see that this distinction is gradually being broken down. Each material continues to evolve, with synthetic fiber insulation strengthening its "down-like" properties and down insulation strengthening its "water resistance."

The jacket's construction, which combines water-resistant down and synthetic materials in a unique "wavy" pattern, prevents heat loss, making it what the manufacturer calls the "warmest jacket in the world."
