New technology that has never been experienced, innovative designs you've never seen before
Every January, the largest outdoor goods trade fair in the United States, "Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (OR)," held in Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah, USA, was held again this year!
, which is held twice every year, summer and winter, and was able to report on the event last summer , has attracted over 1,000 large and small outdoor manufacturers from around the world, and is the setting for new products to make their debuts in anticipation of the next season. A video was immediately uploaded on YouTube, which showed us what the demo venue was like, separate from the main venue in downtown, where you can easily try on and test drive.
So, as I mentioned last year's OR Winter , I would like to pick out some of the most popular items that the editorial department cannot miss from the future outdoor gear that was first unveiled at the event.
Apparel edition
Black Diamond Helio Shell
Black Diamond has released the company's lightest (370g) hardshell jacket, made from Gore C-KNIT, a new material that was newly released last year.
Millet Trilogy Synthesis Down Hoodie
The latest insulation, which will be released next fall and winter from Millet's expedition line, Trilogy, is an ambitious work that has evolved lighter, warmer, and stronger, thanks to the incorporation of the company's new technology, Synthesis, which enables seamless baffles.
Patagonia Stretch Nano Storm Jacket
Patagonia's new outer jacket is a waterproof and breathable hard shell with a balding, breathable, full range stretch insulation material, which is also used in the mid-wave Nano Air Jacket, which has been a hot topic in recent years. It is intended as a belay jacket during winter climbing.
Arc'teryx Alpha SV
The Alpha SV, which is well known as the most robust and most mobility flagship model of Arcteryx's hard shell, has been renewed into a lighter and more robust form next season.
Shoes
LaSportiva Trango TRK Leather GTX
Another highly anticipated new release from Sportiva, which I personally love. The Trango series, which is compatible with hard trekking and alpine climbing, has a new lineup of comfortable hiking boots that can withstand long-distance hiking and trekking, from the Annapurna Circuit to the Appalachian Trail.

Backpack edition
Osprey Kamber / Kresta
Osprey's first full-fledged backcountry backpack can be equipped with an avalanche airbag system, making it ideal for backcountry use, including attachments such as skis, poles, helmets, and snow shovels, and waterproof pockets. Variations of 22 and 42 liters.
Bergans of Norway Helium Pro
A new Alpine line has been added to the Helium Belgans backpack series, which is difficult to find in Japan, as reported in OR Summer in 2015 This backpack was made with the cooperation of an experienced guide, and is very curious about the convenience of attachments, as well as the excellent Scandinavian design.
Winter Gear Edition
Arc'teryx Procline Carbon Boot
Arcteryx, which just made his first appearance in hiking shoes last year, has also made his way into ski touring boots. It's as if it were plastic boots, and the extremely simple buckle and instep are made for ski boots, with the unprecedented looks that are astounding as ever.
Fischer Travers Carbon Lite
Finally, the tour boots are available that weigh less than 1kg per leg. The latest technology and functions are consolidated, including the Boa opening and closing system, which has shown signs of trend in recent years, and the range of motion of 80° back and forth.
BCA Shaxe Tech
As you can see from the photo, this unique snow shovel can be used as a snow shovel and can also be used as a pickle. It is now possible to make it significantly lighter and more compact.
Pieps Micro Beacon
The avalanche beacon is the smallest and lightest model with a triple antenna with high reception sensitivity, which is becoming the mainstream these days.
Black Diamond Helio Fixed-Length Ski Pole
A new carbon ski pole made from black diamonds, with an unprecedented weight reduction of 255 grams. The image is that the left and right sides weigh about the same weight as the iPhone 6.
Other gear
HydroHeat Flameless Cooker
I want to eat warm pasta without having to bring the stove. This HydroHeat Flameless Cooker meets such requests.
Petzl NAO+
Petzl's NAO+, the leading headlamp manufacturer, is even brighter than the current model, and the original app "MyPetzl Light" allows you to check the battery level and adjust the brightness in real time.
