Now, OGZ's "Yamato Town Exploration Journal" suddenly started. Each time, we are planning to visit places that are connected to the mountains, as well as unique shops and spots at the foot of the mountains, from all over Japan to introduce the shops.

This time, the editorial department caught the information that it seems that Kiryu from Gunma is hot as a city, and said, "That's something you're probably curious about!" and drove the car all the way to Kiryu.
First, we head to our first destination in Umeda, a little remote from the center of Kiryu.
At first glance, it looks like a private store that you often see in rural areas.
However, the reality is that it is a mysterious shop that is very different from what you see and is known as an "outdoor style convenience store."
Now, what's the outdoor style?
Let's go in to see it.
This is a stylish and stylish space that you wouldn't imagine from the exterior.
It's true that it's like a convenience store, and there are a variety of food items on display...
A knife is chock full of knife at the counter on the left side of the entrance.
If you go straight to the side of the counter, you will find a lineup that is particular to the owner, including cookers, gas burners, and wood stoves.
If you look to the right, you'll see a bunch of fresh foods such as vegetables and eggs. There are rows of local items that must have been harvested from nearby land, and they are cheap!
There are also some "sold by weight" items that vary depending on the time.

This restaurant is mainly made from Kyushu local chicken due to an acquaintance of the shop owner.
To put it in a while, I bought some black pepper flavoured chicken for camping, and it was delicious.
We also have a wide selection of ice creams, which are essential for the coming season.
There is a section on freeze-dried foods, seasonings, and more, which I also like.
You can buy it here even if you forget when climbing the mountains in this area.
There are also products from Plylet, famous for its mountain stalls that I plan to go to next time.
There are also all the thinner drawers, next to them is a SOTO product.
And one of Tanaka Shoten's highlights is a STATIC product that is only available at two stores (at the time of interview) in Gunma Prefecture!
In the first place, it's valuable because it seems like it can be seen in Tokyo that way, but it can't be seen.

Our store was announced to be the first to make its appearance in Japan last December. I've given you a detailed explanation below.
There are also some gear that is kind of maniac and a bit of a concern.
And it's irresistible for alcohol lovers!? From the products you often see,
I'm not very familiar with products that I've never seen before, as I don't drink much alcohol, so please be aware that I'm not familiar with them.
Now, let's ask the owner, Kainose (not Tanaka!) to appear here.
First, Q, we asked Tanaka Shoten about his background.
A, Meiji period: My wife's great-grandmother (hiihii grandma) opened Tanaka Shoten as a cigarette shop.
After that, in the great grandpa's generation, he made firewood and charcoal and sold it, and in the granddad's generation he continued to carry on business that was in line with the times, such as alcohol, groceries, and daily necessities.
My granddad passed away in 2011 and he closed.
My wife, who I had been dating since the beginning of 2020, heard a neighbor saying that she wanted to use Tanaka Shoten's vacant store to sell the remaining vegetables she had in her home garden, so she wanted to start off by starting a store with the aim of reviving Tanaka Shoten from consignment of vegetables.
In late autumn 2020, the store is extremely unusable, with rain leaks, so we will hold a blue-air market only on weekends in the parking lot. Since I went across America, I loved the outdoors, so I used to sell vegetables while tents, tarps and campfires.
In 2021, cyclists who enjoyed the nature of Umeda also visited the Blue Sky Market, so Tanaka Shoten was reopened in July as an outdoor style convenience store that sells local vegetables and can support outdoor enthusiasts.
The following August, a cafe corner was opened as a break before and after the activities and as a place for local residents to relax.
In this way, we are open as a place where you can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere for local residents, outdoor bases, and a cafe.
Q. What are your future prospects?
A. As a store, we would like to create an environmentally friendly store.
These include environmentally friendly products and corporate activities, product sales methods, and the spread of Leave No Trace. Since it is an outdoor environment that is natural, we would like outdoor enthusiasts to look at the environment in addition to the design and functionality.
This shop is located relatively naturally in the wilderness than other outdoor shops in Umeda-cho, Kiryu City, so we would like to hold an event that makes use of Umeda's nature more.
I hope that in the future, more people will visit us to enjoy the nature of Umeda. (Sup, canoeing, cycling, mountain climbing, etc. at Lake Umeda)

A. The following products we would like to recommend as our store:
Hydrascape Stickers A long sticker from Washington, USA. Our store began selling in Japan in February this year, and is now available at other stores. This is a stylish sticker that will lead to the spread of water bottles.
Lightheart Gear Although it has not yet arrived at our store, we recommend this brand's Sil nylon rain jacket. Although it is breathable, the zipper on the arms can be extended to show off your arms, and you can wear it like a vest, and it is not DWR (durable water-repellent treatment), so there is no need to re-repellent treatment.
Sealson is a Taiwanese backpack brand. Our store first arrived in Japan in December last year. The focus is on ultra-light products that connect cities and mountains. We are also developing our own eco-friendly nylon fabric, Ecoya. The most common inquiries we have are the M2Cross body bag.
Rab A British brand that actively uses recycled materials, has a PFC-free water-repellent finish, and is also environmentally friendly. Although the specifications are comparable to other imported brands, the prices are low and they are rarely overlapping with others, so we have many inquiries!
That said, it's nice that there are so many brands that I'm interested in, which I've been so grateful for.

This time, we were able to rent a special Tanaka Shoten Campsite, which is currently being pre-opened, so we left Tanaka Shoten for now, moved to a location about a three-minute drive away, and from there we will continue our interviews into the streets of Kiryu.

Since then, Tanaka Shoten has been constantly attacking by holding various events.
Tanaka Shoten visited our third solo camping event for the first time.
We'll bring you that situation!
On the way to the solo camping event, I visited another public bath in the heart of Kiryu.
To be honest, I apologize for the inconvenience caused to Mr. Uchiyu because I confused the first episode with the Ichinoyu that I introduced to in the first episode.
Personally, I was glad to be able to visit again with my understanding.
I think it's really amazing that there are two precious public baths in Kiryu now.
It's no exaggeration to say that it's the symbol of the hot spring above, but it seems that there was some color change on a certain TV program.
It was decorated with a very beautiful logo, so stylish.
The baths seem similar to Ichinoyu but are not the same, and this was another unbelievable THE public bath.
It was strangely pleasant and nice to see the Showa-era background music reverberating all the way to the bathroom inside the building.

In the evening, we arrived at the store where we were meeting for a temporary meeting place.
I've been visiting Tanaka Shoten for quite some time since then, but every time I go they introduce new brands, and I'm amazed every time I go, as there are many things I don't see anywhere else.

Of course, since it's an outdoor style convenience store, there are not only new outdoor products but also new food products!
Now we head to the venue with Kainose, Tanaka Shoten.
We arrived at the venue close to the store shortly after, and the location itself is only revealed to participants.
The finished product is already wonderfully done by the participants. The main banquet venue is finished like this, so I set up the individual and it's time for the banquet with participants, blissful!

This is an advance information, but we are currently testing it from a certain garage brand, using a slightly different shelter. We will use it to the extent that we are satisfied with it before we review it, so we hope you will look forward to it. This is amazing.
In the morning, I went back to the store and got a break time. In fact, participants in the solo camping party are forced the CCC Cleanup & Coffee Club, , but due to light rain, the cleaning part was cancelled and coffee time was required!
