[OGZ's Yamamachi Exploration Vol.15 Additional Information!] Klättermusen Tokyo Jimbocho, Klättermusen Tokyo Jimbocho! [Brand Store Visit]

Important update! Klättermusen Tokyo has launched!

The flagship store will open in Harajuku, Tokyo on October 11th, 2025! It's located just off the Jingumae intersection, in a renovated two-story house. As a flagship store, it will carry the full lineup of the season's collection! Of course, expert staff with extensive knowledge of Crettale will be on hand to provide you with detailed support

The Jimbocho store, which I visited earlier, will be closing for a short period of time on Sunday, October 5th. It will then reopen as a new concept store, different from the flagship store in Harajuku. Don't worry, the Jimbocho staff, including store manager Kayahara-san, will be moving to the flagship store

This concludes the announcement of the opening of Klattermusen in Tokyo

Well, the Nagano chapter has begun, but due to various circumstances I can't move forward so I'll go back to talking about the city center for now

In Tokyo, start from the east exit of JR Suidobashi Station

Speaking of this area, there is an outdoor concept cafe called BASE CAMP, which is famous among outdoor enthusiasts, right in front of the station. The owner, Esuke, is a celebrity in the industry, so many people should know about it!

CAFE BASE CAMP

On the way from the station to our destination, we pass another familiar store, Sakaiya, which has recently changed its layout. By the way, you can get here by simply heading south from the station, so you will have no trouble getting lost. A little further on, you will have to turn right, but if you don't turn right and continue straight and reach Yasukuni-dori, it goes without saying that along that road, mainly towards Kanda Station, there are many outdoor-related stores, both large and small. Among them is the Zane Arts Jimbocho store, which I recently visited

If you turn right on the road you came south on and go a little further, you will arrive at your destination, the Klattermusen direct brand store, right in front of Sakaiya Sports main store!

Look towards the entrance of the store. Since we visited on a special day when the store was closed, the shutters were half-open, but don't worry, they're usually fully open

The manager of Klattermusen Tokyo is Kayahara Tetsuro, and he usually runs the store himself

This time, we have a special guest, Shu Sakuma from the sales team. He will be talking about the brand and sharing his recommendations, which is great! Sakuma will be explaining the products himself, allowing you to immerse yourself even more deeply in the world of Klättermusen. There will also be some big news from Klättermusen at the end!

Inside the store, stylish outdoor gear is displayed in various places, but it seems that all of it is the staff's personal property. There are many excellent items, and after just a look, you'll want to buy them (wry smile)

On the left side of the entrance are these impressive backpacks, the epitome of Crettar!

If you look up, you'll also see backpacks on the second floor. The upper floor is mainly for women

You can go up using the stairs on the right, but be careful as there are some low sections of the ceiling at the top

The center is mainly for accessories, and further back you'll find large packs of men's clothing. Please note that Crettarumu Sentokyo is a completely cashless store, and only accepts credit cards and various electronic payments when shopping

Ymer2.0 65L+12L / Ymer 2.0 65L+12L

Now, we'll have Sakuma-san talk in detail from here, starting with this, which symbolizes Klattermusen!

-Klättermusen is a Nordic Swedish outdoor brand, and I think the Immer is a backpack that really reflects the local flavor. It's a top-of-the-line model packed with details that are synonymous with Klättermusen, so even if you're not looking for a large pack, it's definitely one to take a look at

Although Sweden does not have many steep mountains like Japan, it is a country with vast natural beauty, and in the north there is a region called Lapland that spans the Nordic countries, where there are many long trails

This large-capacity backpack, representative of the brand, evokes the image of a journey in which you pack everything you need for food, clothing, and shelter into a bag and walk for days through a deserted wilderness!

It features a distinctive outer frame structure reminiscent of a backpack, and is designed to comfortably carry heavy loads. It may seem to go against the current trend of light and compact, but it can be carried comfortably even when packed with alcohol and other items to enjoy on a night out in the mountains

Klattermusen places great importance on durability and longevity in its products, so for example, the hip belt buckles are made from sturdy aluminum. If the buckle were to break during a trip, it would mean that the weight could not be distributed evenly across your waist!

The distinctive metal parts around the shoulders and collarbones are called butterfly bridges and are an important part of the unique "Carry-On-Bone System," a carrying system that works in conjunction with the frame and harness. By transferring the load directly to the bones, this technology reduces muscle pressure and fatigue. It's hard to convey the benefits of this system in words, so we recommend trying it out for yourself in-store with the weights!

This is a simple and sturdy masterpiece with traditional Klattermusen designs scattered throughout. We hope you will come to the store and try it on to experience the world of Klattermusen backpacks

Asynja Jacket

This is a representative rain shell, with a simple design that incorporates various ingenious features. As with the following items, all models wearing the clothing are men's size M and are 175cm tall

For example, if you look at the back, you'll see that there are no seams at all! You can see that it's made from a single piece of fabric. Seams are holes, which increase the risk of water seepage, and seam tape, which can easily cause problems, is also minimized. The fabric is made with our unique 3-layer waterproof and breathable material "Coutan," which is extremely flexible and stretchy. This allows for a design that does not restrict body movement even with fewer seams

The diagonal front zipper is designed to avoid interference with the chin. Incidentally, the zipper of the outer shell is offset to the left, and the zipper of the mid layer is offset to the right, so the zipper tabs do not gather in one place

Waterproof zippers are not used as they are prone to deterioration over time, and instead double flaps on the front and back are provided to prevent wind and rain from entering

Another feature is that the cuffs do not use Velcro. Velcro is prone to wear and tear, and if it breaks, it's a hassle to repair, right? This jacket uses a cord, so in the unlikely event of a malfunction, you can remove the cord and easily replace it yourself, making it easier to deal with on-site issues

Vingtor Hood Jacket

This is a new rain shell that has been added to the collection this season. Compared to the Asynja Jacket, it is thinner and lighter, making it more suitable for hot and humid conditions

It is extremely lightweight and compact, so if you use it as a wind shell, you can significantly reduce the amount of luggage you need

Can you tell how thin it is by the light transmittance?! This waterproof and breathable material is a 2.5 layer type with a polyester outer layer that is highly hydrophobic. Like the Asynja Jacket, it is an original fabric with high stretchability

Syn SS Shirt / Syn Short Sleeve Shirt

We also recommend this quick-drying shirt style!

The black triangle on the chest is a reflector that reflects light, but it also functions as a sunglasses holder. As someone who often loses my sunglasses, this is a very useful feature (lol)

Brimer 32L

If the aforementioned Ymer 2.0 is considered a classic Klattermusen, this model could be considered a modern update. While it follows the main brand concepts such as the metal buckle and outer frame structure, it also adds various useful features such as lighter weight and waterproofing

As you can see, the design creates space between the back and waist, making it highly breathable and less likely to get stuffy. The back length can be adjusted, making it a unisex design

This is how it looks when I (175cm tall) wear it. It's sized for day trips and overnight stays in mountain huts, and is a model that many people choose as their first backpack, regardless of gender. Some people who can pack compactly also use it for camping in tents

The outer fabric is waterproof nylon. Although the lining is not seam-treated, it can withstand rain without a rain cover. The webbing loops, which resemble leaf veins, are an iconic design of the brand, and you can customize it to your liking by attaching a sacoche bag to them, as we will show later. The large side pockets can even fit a wine bottle!

Tjalve 2.0 10L

This is the brand's smallest and lightest summit pack

Its vest-style design provides a comfortable fit. Its compact size makes it popular with trail runners and female customers

The shoulder harness that extends from two points at the bottom of the pack provides a snug fit around your back

The chest strap has four fastening points. This is a unique part from Krettal that provides a comfortable hold while minimizing tightness around the chest

Let's go to the 2nd floor

The second floor is not that large, but it has a neat and tidy display of mainly women's clothing

I'm curious about this bag displayed at the very back

Gebo Bag 23L

This is a hidden popular item! At first glance, it looks like a simple tote bag, but it actually has an ingenious design

The bag itself is designed to compress vertically, allowing you to carry it in a variety of styles depending on the volume of your luggage! When compressed tightly, the handle cord strap becomes longer, so you can wear it cross-body. By storing everything in the inner pocket, it can be stored compactly and packably, just like an eco bag

I was also curious about this place at the top of the stairs!

Allvis Scarf

This scarf is perfect for this season, whether you're using it to wipe away sweat or protect your skin from the sun. Made from a blend of Tencel, a plant-based recycled fiber, and polyester, it's silky soft and moisture-wicking and quick-drying. It can be worn in a variety of ways, like wrapped around your head or neck. It's a great alternative to towels or hand towels to brighten up your mountain climbing adventures!

What are your recommendations for women's clothing?

Nal Hooded Jacket

This is Windshell's best-selling model. The logo is understated, but it's instantly recognizable as a Klättermusen jacket. The gentle coloring, inspired by Nordic nature, is a personal favorite of mine

We will have the men's model talk about wearing the product

In addition to the aforementioned details, such as the diagonal zipper on the front, the cord adjustment at the hem is very unique

Just pull the cord towards you and then twist it back... and you can adjust the waist circumference in an instant!

The jacket's silhouette can be freely adjusted, allowing for a wide range of styling options. Its moderate wind resistance and breathability make it perfect for wearing on ridge walks in the green season. The textured nylon fabric keeps sweat away from the skin. It can also be used as a mid-layer during the fall and winter when temperatures drop

Klattermusen also offers a lineup of stylish and functional hats

Mesh Cap

Among them, I chose this one. It has a very ordinary name, a mesh cap, but it is a hat with a unique design that is far different from ordinary mesh caps

The thick material feels like the mesh on the back of a backpack, making it extremely moisture-wicking and quick-drying. I personally like the short brim, so I really like it

There is an adjuster on the cord at the back so you can wear it normally, but..

It can be used in two ways: by lowering the cord, it quickly becomes a chin strap, so you can use it safely even in windy environments

We also have a wide selection of small items and backpack accessories

Algir Accessory Bag / Algir Accessory Bag Series

This is a series of accessory bags that function as sacoche bags, and comes in a wide range of sizes, from smartphone size to larger items

What makes this bag different from a typical sacoche is that it functions as an external attachment for a backpack using the included red aluminum toggle! You can hang it over your shoulder, attach it to your backpack to add more external access pockets, or use it as an organizer to keep your belongings organized. It has a variety of uses depending on the situation

We also have a wide variety of repair items!

As mentioned at the beginning, we are a brand that wants customers to use the same items for as long as possible, so we actively accept repairs. We will do our best to repair even older models, so please feel free to contact us

Finally, the picture books on display on the second floor!

The brand name Klättermusen is derived from a picture book titled Klas Klättermus. The mouse in the center of the picture is the main character, and it is a famous story in Scandinavia. The brand name Klätter can be translated into English as Climing, and Musen as Mouse, meaning "mountain mouse." The triangular logo that appears on various items is actually based on the motif of a mouse's head

The big news at the very end?

This time we introduced the brand store in Jimbocho and recommended products, but we will now be opening our second brand store in Osaka on Friday, July 18th, 2025! Like the Tokyo Jimbocho store, this will be the first Klättermusen store in Western Japan to carry the full lineup of seasonal collections, and we hope you will come and experience the many unique details inspired by the majestic nature of Scandinavia!
