[OGZ's Yamato-machi Exploration Diary Vol. 25] Osaka Teradacho Edition - Lighting up the world from TERADACHO! milestone TERADACHO Concept store [Weekend event information included]

Yamatomachi makes its first appearance in Osaka

Osaka Station has an amazing sense of openness and is vast

One day, a trip westward was suddenly decided upon, and I thought, "If the schedule allows, I have to go wherever I can!" And that meant Milestone, a place I've been indebted to for past Gearzine offline events and event reports! And so begins the Yamato Machi Exploration Diary, Osaka Chapter

I checked out the area around the Osaka Loop Line for a bit

Milestone's store is located in Teradacho on the JR Osaka Loop Line. The Loop Line and the towns within it, which can be completed in no time on such a wide train, have a fair number of interesting brand flagship stores and outdoor shops. One of them is the Osaka store of Klättermusen, which has appeared in the Yamatomachi series in the past, located near Shinsaibashi subway station

The nearest station to Moonlight Gear Osaka, both near JR Osaka Station and Umeda, is Nakatsu Subway Station. Unfortunately, both stores were closed, so I couldn't go inside. It's disappointing!

Now, let's get down to business and move on to the milestones!

From JR Osaka Station, take the train clockwise on the outer loop of the Osaka Loop Line, and you will arrive at Teradacho in about 20 minutes

Compared to the city center we just passed, this seems like a much quieter town

There's a lovely flower shop in front of the south exit, and to tell you upfront, I took the wrong turn. The correct way is to take the road you see on the right of the flower shop

Perhaps due to the excitement of having arrived west, I started heading in the opposite direction, which shows my lack of familiarity with the area

As a result, I was able to see the cityscape on the opposite side of the milestone, and there was a Don Quijote store in front of the station

Across the street was a very intriguing coffee shop. As I was walking, I noticed there were a lot of independent coffee shops, which made me feel the difference in culture between this area and the Kanto region. You can find a fair number of them in Kanto if you look hard enough, though

I kept turning down the alley and getting further and further away (lol), and that's when I finally realized, "Hey, the address isn't Teradacho!?"

While I was trying to change direction, this stylish eyewear shop also caught my eye

Let's pull ourselves together and reach the milestone this time!

Once again, I'll head back to the station, passing through the underpass, and aim for my milestone

I'm also curious about the Chinese restaurants we'll pass along the way

Teradacho seems to have a bit of a wholesale district aspect to it. The shop with the orange awning looked like a footwear wholesaler. You can see it in the background!

We've arrived at milestone TERADACHO! If you know the way, it should take less than five minutes from the station

...Everything from the exterior to the smallest details is so stylish! You can really feel President Nishioka's sense of aesthetics and attention to detail here, so let's go inside

Let's start with Milestone TERADACHO 1F!

Upon entering, this display is the first thing you see – it's breathtaking

The center displays information about upcoming events being held at the store

Looking at it from the other side, the wooden blocks seem to be incredibly versatile, sometimes becoming chairs and sometimes display shelves. The store area on the first floor is a vast single open space

At its core are beverages, primarily alcoholic drinks

It seems that those who enjoy drinking are particularly thrilled

When the store is closed, a milestone-themed curtain hangs in the window facing the street

When it opened, it was designed to be fully visible and visually appealing. The building directly across the street from the store is Fuji Lighting Co., Ltd., which could be considered the main building of Milestone

On the wall of the staircase leading to the second floor, there's a large sign displaying the catchphrase that has been up since the company's founding

If you go further to the back left from there, you'll see a headlamp. At first glance, you might wonder why it's in the corner, right?

I feel like I've said this countless times, but even the cardboard items used for display are stylish

Getting back to the point, the reason we chose this location is... Right in front of the lamp is this! A fully equipped darkroom!

Furthermore, I'm truly impressed by the attention to detail in how the interior faithfully recreates nature and trails

In this way, you can try out Milestone headlamps to your heart's content, checking the light output and seeing how white and warm colors appear under different lighting conditions! You can't do this at a regular store, which is what you'd expect from a headlamp manufacturer's direct store

So, let's go up the stairs to the second floor... But before that, to the right of that..

There's a pretty professional DJ booth! This is the kind of equipment you'd expect from Mr. Nishioka, who also has a musician side. Of course, you can experience DJ Nishioka's sets during events held on the first floor, but depending on the situation at the time, you might even get to experience him playing during regular business hours! If you hear some great music playing, you're pretty lucky to have walked in at that time! Now let's head upstairs

What awaits you on the 2nd floor!

As you go up the stairs, you'll see this incredibly serious poster. It's definitely getting made into a movie! (lol)

The second floor has an open atrium and some floor space on the window side, but the main store area is at the back

The floor plan is neat and tidy, especially on the window side

You can also take your time and carefully examine the headlamps from the second floor

The bottom shelf of the L-shaped shelf holds catalogs of past milestones!

Fans who have followed the milestones for many years will know how high-quality the finished product is; the effort put into each photograph is on a different level

On the opposite side, in front of the handrail, is another intriguing new collaboration item! More on that later

The table is covered with evidence of countless battles, a sight only possible at Milestone, a place that has actually been put into practice in real-world situations

This packable 20L Utility Bag is a user-friendly eco-bag made of 100% nylon and comes in four colors

Returning to the shelves, the MS-i1 + RUSH Light 2.0, a collaboration item with PaaGo Works, is an unusual piece of gear that allows you to attach a headlamp near your stomach

I personally use and love my MS-J1 Route Finder flashlight

At milestone TERADACHO, you can actually see and touch products before purchasing them, even if they're only available on other official online sites or at events

Go to the 2nd floor main floor

Now let's take a look at the back of the second floor; the clothing selection is breathtaking! It's not often you get to see the full lineup of Milestone products, so just being there is exciting

The Cloud Hoodie, an activewear style garment, uses Polartec Alpha® as its main material

Rain gear, wind shells, and thermal wear are also available!

With a wide selection of bottoms available, it's now possible to build an entire outfit using Milestone products

So, what about the remaining socks and arm warmers...? Yes, we have them too!

They have underwear too! I didn't know about this wool-blend Original Boxer

We also have a wide selection of original caps!

Among them is the Denali Hat, a bucket hat version of the classic cap "MSC-013"! It was just released recently, but it's already incredibly popular, almost completely sold out on the official online site

Furthermore, there's an ultra-limited White Label! This is a truly rare item that's only available at directly managed stores and isn't even sold on the official web store, so only those who can visit the store in person can get their hands on it

Please note that parking is generally not available for customers arriving by car, so we can provide information on nearby parking options

What is milestone TERADACHO? - An interview with the milestone marketing manager

Now, for our usual segment, "Let's Ask Them," we'll be focusing almost entirely on Milestone TERADACHO, and our interviewer is Mr. Omori, who is in charge of marketing at Milestone

- How is the store operated? -

Basically, the office is located next to the store, so there are three of us in total, including the representative Nishioka. When a customer comes in, whoever is free will be in charge of serving them. So, if you're lucky, Nishioka will often say, "I'll go out and serve you," which is a great opportunity to ask the representative a lot of questions

-What is the general management policy of milestone TERADACHO?-

This is a concept store for the brand (Milestone), and its selling point is that you can actually "touch" and "experience" our products. It's a place where all of Milestone's products are gathered in one place, so it's not often that you can choose products while comparing colors and so on from the entire lineup. It's perfect for customers who just want to see the products in person! Be sure to check out the products that are only available at the direct store

And every third Thursday of the month, we have a night jog called the Teradacho Jogging Club (TJC). This is quite different from hardcore running teams; it's an event where anyone can easily participate, from beginners to veterans, and even those who have never run before but want to try it! No reservations are required, and we run with whoever can gather at the shop at that time

We have ice-cold wine and beer available

TJC is also important as a place for sharing information and building a community, and we want anyone who loves running or anything related to running to feel free to join us! After your run, we'd love for you to come into the store and chat over drinks (or soft drinks, of course) and exchange information. We hope that through running, our concept store can become a place of relaxation

-What are Milestone's future plans as a headlamp brand?-

Currently, we're focusing on enhancing our range of wearable gear, including headlamps, but of course, we have new products in the works! In fact, we'll be giving a sneak peek at products scheduled for release this fall at the TOAD Trail Open Air Demo, a trail running festival taking place this weekend (April 4th/5th, 2026)! We'll also be distributing a new catalog at the same time, so we're sure everyone who comes to the event will be excited!

Products from Fuji Lighting were also subtly displayed

-Finally, a message from Mr. Omori to our users!-

We hope that the milestone TERADACHO concept store will become a place that illuminates the future for everyone who is on the move!

Milestone's new collaboration information!

A powerful collaboration model with illustrator/art director Jerry Ukai!

The Milestone Original T-Shirt Canvas “Let's Keep Pushing Our Limits!” and Market Tote 25L, both exclusive to the official store (directly operated/online), are sure to sell out!

They also had acrylic glass and lantern shades

To wrap things up, here are some comments from store manager Yoshida and representative Nishioka!

Both of them were very busy on the day of the interview, so we only managed to get a brief comment from them

From Mr. Yoshida, manager of milestone TERADACHO

"We'd like to talk not only about our products, but also about activities like mountain climbing, trail running, and cycling, so please come to Teradacho!"

From Mr. Nishioka, representative of Milestone

"We offer a full lineup of products including headlamps, caps, and apparel, as well as many store-exclusive items. All three of our staff members will give you a warm and enthusiastic welcome, so please come visit milestone TERADACHO."

Finally, at the Milestone All-Star game!

Nishioka's footwork as he sprinted up the stairs was that of a true athlete

"See ya!" he said, and apparently he had a tight schedule, as he quickly ran off to his next job

How did you like milestone TERADACHO? It's a headlamp manufacturer, brand store, and running station that shines brightly in Teradacho. It will continue to illuminate the path and future for everyone who needs light, from the road to the trail
