Announcement of Outdoor Gearzine's 5th anniversary event "Outdoor Gearzine Trailhead 2019"!

Hello. We announced this on our Facebook page early on, but now that the outline has been finalized, we would like to share some exciting news from our editorial team

Our website, Outdoor Gearzine, celebrated its 5th anniversary this September and will be holding a real event this October

Outdoor Gearzine Trailhead 2019 Overview

Project 1: "Outdoor Retailer 2019 Report Session"

overview:

First, on the evening of Friday, October 11th, we will be holding a slideshow report from "Outdoor Retailer 2019," one of the world's largest outdoor equipment exhibitions, held in Denver in June of this year, with the cooperation of Nifco Inc., as we did last time!

"Outdoor Retailer" is one of the world's largest sports and outdoor equipment exhibitions for people involved in the outdoor industry, held every June in Denver, USA

Over 1,000 outdoor, action sports, and apparel manufacturers, from well-known global brands to recently established garage brands, will be exhibiting at this monster event, where you can experience the cutting edge of the North American outdoor sports market and get a glimpse into the future of outdoor activities

We will be introducing you to the latest in outdoor gear, based on our four-day explorations. Photography and other activities will be completely prohibited, so you will only be able to see this information here. After the slideshow, we will be holding a small reception with a reception. Please feel free to join us

In addition, everyone who participates on the day will receive a free drip bag of outdoor, slow, organic coffee from the YAMANOVA Coffee "Namaste Himalaya" project!

What is the YAMANOVA Coffee "Namaste Himalaya" project?

Enjoy organic, fair-trade coffee from the Himalayan foothills of Nepal outdoors! This coffee project is spreading throughout Japan through a subscription-based community of nature lovers. Project 2: Wilderness Medical Associates Japan Special Lecture: "Outdoor First Aid Using Mountaineering Equipment"

overview:

I want to learn practical first aid knowledge that you can't get from books or the internet, and learn more about tools

Isamu Yokobori (WMAJ Co-Representative Director, WMAI Lead Instructor)

Naturally, mountain gear isn't something to be displayed and admired at home, but it's also not enough to simply follow the instructions in the manual. Surviving in remote, wilderness areas can mean unexpected injuries, accidents, or natural disasters, with no one to help. Surviving in such situations requires making full use of the limited resources available to you. In such situations, what can you do with the tools you have at hand? Knowing how to use a variety of outdoor gear is important, not just to prevent unexpected accidents, but also as a way to manage crises during major disasters that occur every day

This time, we have asked Isamu Yokobori, co-representative director of Wilderness Medical Associates Japan and WMAI lead instructor, who is well-versed in first aid procedures for outdoor and disaster situations, to give a special lecture based on the WFA Wilderness First Aid perspective, focusing on "How to use tools in case of an emergency"!

About Wilderness Medical Associates Japan (Official website)

WFA Wilderness First Aid is:

"Outdoor and Disaster First Aid" is first aid that "saves lives" even in situations where medical access is difficult or during disasters

Since its founding in 1981, the WMA has been a global organization dedicated to advancing practical medicine in extreme environments and conditions. We are rescue medical professionals, researchers, experienced educators, and advocates for medicine in wilderness conditions. As of 2019, we have been recognized by over 10,000 individuals annually in over 30 countries across seven continents

The official curriculum systematically covers the assessment and treatment required in wilderness situations (situations where it takes a long time for transfer to the medical system or necessary treatment to be received), as well as long-term follow-up observation and nursing, and how to think in harsh natural environments. A learning style that first gains theoretical understanding through classroom lectures and then learns through hands-on training is a distinctive feature of this new first aid method in Japan

All participants will receive a free YAMANOVA coffee drip bag

On the day, all participants will receive a free drip bag from the aforementioned YAMANOVA Coffee! In addition, there will be limited-edition coffee beans for sale, drip bags for sale, and subscriptions available

We will be selling a variety of gear, including this season's items such as tents, sleeping bags, shoes, and clothing, at bargain prices, with items that are still in good condition even after testing, so don't miss out!

We are also currently negotiating with the outdoor manufacturer we work with to see if they will release anything for us. You might be able to get some unexpected bargains at a low price!

lastly

Outdoor Gearzine, which aims to make the outdoor world more enjoyable through gear, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. The number of outdoor media outlets has increased everywhere, to a degree that would have been unimaginable five years ago. Despite this, we've managed to survive, despite our struggles, but there are still many areas we need to improve. Over the next five years, we'd like to continue to pursue what only this media can do, through trial and error, so we hope you will continue to read our magazine

We would like to create a space that can be enjoyed by all those who take the outdoors seriously as a purpose in life, a hobby, or the spice of life, so we look forward to seeing many of you there!
