Announcement of the outline of the exhibition event about mountain gear "Outdoor Gearzine Trailhead"

Written by Yasushi Hisatomi

Hello, this is an announcement from the editorial team. This fall, Outdoor Gearzine will be holding its first ever exhibition event!

Start your autumn mountain climbing adventure with Outdoor Gearzine “Outdoor Gearzine Trailhead”

You can't really appreciate mountain gear until you see it, touch it, and use it. Outdoor Gearzine aims to be the broadest, deepest, and most honest source of information about outdoor gear, and is exploring all kinds of ways to provide more people with the opportunity to learn about mountain gear, not just through text but also through videos and even real-life spaces

Wab Design INC., a design company located near Yoyogi Park As such an opportunity rarely comes around, we immediately agreed to hold the event!

However, it is ultimately just an online magazine about mountaineering equipment, operating modestly in a corner of the internet. What can be done in the real world? What will happen? To be honest, it's all a mystery, but by expanding communication that was previously confined to the web into the real world, we are sure to create exciting experiences on a whole new level. We want to make this a place that can be enjoyed by everyone who has even the slightest interest in mountain climbing, so we look forward to seeing many of you there

Project summary:

"Trailhead" is the English word for "mountain entrance." As this is the first event and it is the height of autumn, when the leaves are turning red, we hope to let as many people as possible know about Outdoor Gearzine's activities and to serve as a starting point for people to start mountain climbing. With this in mind, we are planning the following events

We're planning this event! (Updated 10/30/2016)

1. Learn about and try out some of the recommended mountain gear for the 2016 autumn foliage season!

Outdoor Gearzine has been introducing various mountain gear recommendations every season, but this time we have picked out recommended gear for those planning to climb the mountains "now," in the middle of the autumn foliage season. We will be showcasing a selection of recommended mountain gear, selected through our own research, from a wide lineup including new releases in several categories, including rainwear and backpacks

2. Beginners will now know exactly what to wear and bring when hiking in the mountains in autumn!

What exactly should you bring with you when climbing a mountain, and how much? Outdoor Gearzine will be exhibiting a replica of the contents of a mountain climbing backpack. You can touch and feel the backpacks and ask any questions you may have, so beginners are especially welcome. Of course, Outdoor Gearzine's opinions are based solely on their own experience, but on the other hand, we hope to provide an unbiased opinion that is not biased towards any particular manufacturer

3. We're selling off past outdoor gear that's been tested at great prices!

At Outdoor Gearzine, we have a growing number of outdoor gear that we have actually purchased and tried out for gear reviews and comparison tests. Of course, I would like to keep them as a record, but it's becoming physically impossible, and it seems a waste to throw away such great gear that could be used

That's where this event comes in. We thought it would be perfect to sell them here so that our readers could use them, so we're offering some of the items that we've finished testing at a discounted price. Please note that sizes are limited, so please understand that

Again, to avoid confusion, we have withheld the specific names of each item, but if you've been reading this site, you can probably guess that many of the items on sale are already reviewed items. In other words, they're all truly excellent gear!

4. "Packing Seminar 2016" by Yusuke Arai

outdoor_knife_manual"Outdoor Knife Manual," which was previously introduced on this site, and a mountain photographer well-versed in a wide range of outdoor techniques, from traditional mountaineering to UL (ultralight) hiking, hunting, bushcraft, and more, will be cooperating with us on this event!

Speaking of Arai, Keikokusha's Ultralight Hiker magazine as an example of UL hiking during the snowy season among a host of other experts. Naturally, he is also extremely particular about his outdoor gear.

This time , Arai will talk about what kind of equipment he packs and how he packs it when heading out into the field, standing in front of the actual gear, in an event that allows you to experience the latest in packing (what's that?). He will talk extensively about packing techniques, from regular day hikes to camping in tents and UL packing, as much as time allows!

In addition to the packing class, the event will also feature sales and a signing session for Arai's latest book. If you purchase a copy of the book at the venue, it will also help support Outdoor Gearzine, so please do so!

One of the main attractions of the event will be an exhibition of the best mountain climbing equipment for the autumn foliage season, selected by OGZ. 6. We have great merchandise available, including some that you can only get here

In addition to exhibiting mountain equipment, the venue also offers a wide selection of wonderful goods, including some that can only be purchased here

we have decided to collaborate with BSKK , from Izumo, Shimane Prefecture, the hometown of Masuda Kobo, who is in charge of the visual aspects of this event, and which offers unique ways to enjoy the outdoors!

The venue will be serving the " Out Door Blend," the versatile 8oz original Dynex cup, with its double-walled construction that keeps coffee cold and hot without condensation, will also be available for purchase.

lastly

This exhibition event was decided to be held at short notice due to a combination of fate and timing

Of course, we want everyone to come and check out, not only those who love the outdoors, but also those who have been thinking about taking up mountain climbing but don't have anyone willing to teach them, who feel they might be persuaded to try it at a store, or who feel like it's just too difficult. This is a brand new event with no set rules, no set atmosphere, and no regulars. All you need is a few millimeters of interest in mountains

So we look forward to seeing many of you there!
