[Information on items for sale at the flea market included] Additional information on the Outdoor Gearzine 10th anniversary offline event (December 1st, 12:00pm onwards)!

This week we bring you the latest information on our upcoming offline event on Sunday, December 1st!

A talk session with the designer of the mysterious new outdoor brand "arata" has been scheduled

First of all, as I mentioned briefly in my review article the other day, we have a guest talk! This time, we will be inviting Sugime-san, the founder and designer of "arata," a new Japanese outdoor brand that was launched this season

Sugime's relationship with Outdoor Gearzine can be traced back to about five years ago, when he founded Teishin Tech and introduced a unique cooker to Gearzine as an agent for a Chinese outdoor cooking equipment brand called Fire-Maple

I regularly receive requests to review gear from manufacturers and brands whose names I don't know, so the inquiry itself is not unusual, but Sugime's email was different. I will never forget how much depth of knowledge, awareness of the issues, and passion he displayed were far more intense than any other email I've ever received

At the time, the only image people in Japan had of China was "counterfeit goods," but I had just traveled to China to cover the outdoor exhibition "Asia Outdoor Trade Show 2017" at my own expense and had a real feel for the country's strength and boundless potential, so I was even more excited to see that "someone had started dealing in genuine Chinese brands!"

After that, Teishin Tech became the official Japanese distributor of MOBI GARDEN, a brand so talented that I was impressed when I saw it in person, and steadily expanded the range of items they handled. They also began to delve into original development, such as creating models made specifically for Japan. Even back then, Sugime-san's deep and wide-ranging insight into tents (who has been involved in a wide range of product designs, including home appliances and automobiles) was incredible

During this time, I maintained regular contact with Sugime, talking about the outdoor scene in China and various ideas for new gear that had come to mind, and I looked forward to his next move while dreaming of the future

The crystallization of Sugime's overflowing ideas and drive is his original tent, the "arata AX series."

I've written a lot, but what I'm trying to say is that the "arata" brand has roots that are completely different from previous outdoor brands, and it is a brand that is full of appeal and potential, with unparalleled technical skills and production capabilities

I feel that I need to let more people know about this, and that is the main reason I am holding this talk event

At the event, we'd like to ask Sugime-san as much as time allows about the path he's taken with Arata, what he's thinking about now, and the future of outdoor gear, so please look forward to it!

A sneak peek at the featured items at the flea market

The main event will be a flea market where users are welcome to participate, and Outdoor Gearzine will be selling a lot of outdoor gear

Today, we'll be introducing some of the gear we're planning to release that we think will be eye-catching items. All of the gear will be sold at bargain prices, starting from 50% off. We'll be holding a raffle on the day for some of the gear, so if there's any gear you're interested in, be sure to come along!

Also, these are just the things we have decided to release at this time, so we plan to add more in the future!

For backpacks, from left to right, we have the Parante V2 (Grid Stop), Gossamer G4-20 42 R, and zpacks Arc Haul Ultra 50L!

From left to right: Durston's Kakwa 40, Low Low Mountain's Antelope, and Gossamer's Fast Kumo!

Next are tents and sleeping bags

From left to right, Nemo Rif 30, Durston X-Mid 1, HMG UNBOUND 2P, Montbell LW Tarp, Seamless Downhugger 900 #5, Exped hammock (I forgot the model number...), Hobo's Nest 2, ZANE ARTS Yarl 1, Hilleberg Act, zpacks Plex Solo, MSR Advanced pro 2!

The highlights of the clothing range are Rab's Rab Mythic G, The North Face's L3 50/50 Down Hoodie, and Norrona's trollveggen Primaloft100 Zip Hood!

Other Atlas backcountry snowshoes!

DALBELLO LUPO AIR 110 (27/27.5cm) and other snow gear available!

Some items are practically unused, but even if they aren't, they are all in good condition as they have been used carefully. There are plenty of bargains, including items that can only be obtained through personal imports, items that sell out as soon as they are released in Japan, and items that are ridiculously expensive, so if you're interested, don't miss this opportunity!

Due to the large number of participants for the "Flea Market Stall", applications are now closed. Thank you for your understanding
