[A self-paying comparison review without any consideration] Great for this time of year! Compare a lightweight, compact windshell that is easy to use in the mountains and in the city [Ladies]
It's warm during the day but chilly in the mornings and evenings. The "windshell" is useful from early spring to before summer. In a familiar phrase, "windbreaker."
Even rainwear can cover the cold. However, it's hot to go on a mountain path that's not raining while wearing rainwear. It depends on the altitude, but honestly it's really stuffy. In fact, your physical strength will be taken away.
That's where you want to have a windshell. Do you think of it as a windshell = a windbreaker and it's made of bulky and crunchy material?
The windshells these days are different. It is made of lightweight, flexible materials and compact. This clothing is recommended to carry one in your bag as a street wear on a slightly cold day.
So, "Which one should I choose?" and "What are your recommendations?" It is true that strengths and weaknesses vary depending on the manufacturer. To avoid the fact that it felt different from what I had imagined when I actually used it, we have worn and compared various windshells.

About Windshell Comparison Review

The weight is 150g (about one regular size banana!) and I chose these three items except for the weight, which is interesting to hear about sings, I'd like to try them on, and it might be great for street wear. Sorry for the lax standard. Because even if you choose it strictly...hey. You want to enjoy choosing the clothing you want!

Impressions of each model
MILLET Breather Wilder Light Jacket
It's not cold anyway
Above all, this is an important feature for the windshell. The hood fits your face and keeps the cold air from the neck out. The heat retention was excellent even at the summit near the windy dusk.
Great effect of ventilation
The fabric is sturdy so I thought "this should be hot." But, oh my gosh, when I opened the pockets and ventilation on both sides, it was cool. Comfortable. This is an unexpected result. I was able to judge it based solely on the thickness of the fabric. I don't know that just having ventilation makes it so different.
Strong water repellent
As stated, "BREATHER" lightweight, ultra-durable water-repellent fabric achieves strong water-repellent properties that last and last (quoted from the description of Breather Wilder Light Jacket)." In any case, I'll repel water that's waterproof. Maybe it can also be used as rainwear? ! That's what I thought.
It's not soft and light
What's bothering me is that it feels good (it feels heavy) and it feels a little shaking. Compared to wind river hoodies and distance windshells, they are clearly different to wear. It has a texture that looks like it's made rainwear quite soft. But it's not so much that it's "very curious."
Teton Bros. Wind River Hoodie
Excellent comfort
I hope the photo shows the smooth texture of the fabric, but it's just soft and supple. Even if you sweat, the fabric will not stick to your skin if it gets sticky. To be honest, there is a bit of stuffiness, but it's so comfortable that I want to wear it forever. Is this another technique that Pertex Quantum Air can do?
It is also highly elastic, making it easy to move.
Ultra-lightweight at 95g = Thin fabric, but windproof
I thought the thickness (weight) of the fabric is proportional to wind resistance, but sometimes it can be different! I'm amazed at the evolution of the materials. The hood fits perfectly on your face and has a thumb hole, so this prevents cold air from entering.
Designs that can be worn in town
It's functional, but the design is cool. A tight silhouette, logos printed on the waist, and more. It doesn't have a very "active" finish, so it can be used as a street wear. Incidentally, the logo stands out even after packing it in.

Waist logo. Your mobile phone will fit in your pocket. My back is a bit heavy, but I'm grateful for this pocket
It's a little hot
I'd say this while giving a lot of praise, but it would be hot if you were wearing it while you were on the move. I sweated. It weighs the same as the Arc'teryx windshell, but it's cold and hot over there. Probably the difference in fabric. Well, you won't know until you actually wear it and move around. This makes choosing clothing difficult and interesting!
Black Diamond Distance Wind Shell
Super light comfort
72g! It weighs about one L size egg. It's fluffy and I've never worn it before, but to put it in a way, it would look like a celestial maid robe. This shell is safe to wear when you want to wear something. The comfort of being able to wear from the start of climbing and running until the peak is 72g.
Excellent breathability
As you can see in the photo, the innerwear is transparent and breathable throughout. There are no moments of sweating. Perfect for those who continue to move and have "always burning" their bodies. However, even though I was still moving, I felt cold and cold when the wind blows, even during a break for just a few minutes. It's a shell that selects the occasion and activities you want to wear. Incidentally, I am not a trail runner or a fast hiker, but rather a normal climber.
It can be stored quite compactly
As you can see, it was compactly stored. The pocket on the left chest is inserted, but unfortunately it cannot fit a 15cm x 7cm mobile phone. It may just be that it's big, but I wish it had come in. It looks like it will contain small nutritional gels and other substances.
The water repellency is not very good...
Officially, it says, "It has excellent water repellency and allows water-repellent components to penetrate each fiber, so there is no need for additional sprays or water-repellent finishes." However, he ended up bent over his head and shook his head, "Hmm." Waterproofing and water repellent are certainly different, but the water quickly penetrated. Even if it rains lightly, if you wear this clothing for a long time, your body will feel quite cold.
Peak Performance W Bislite Wind Jacket FY
Designs that can be worn in town
As it is a Swedish manufacturer, the simple yet stylish design, including the use of colors, is a great item. I especially like the use of dark colors. The waist is tightened on the back, giving it a tight silhouette. It's not a "outdoor" design, so it looks like it will be useful in the city.
Thumb loops and hem prevent cold air (but it removes too much waste and makes it difficult to notice its function)
The cuffs have a thumb loop made of elastic material, and the cuffs become deflated when you pass your hands through the loop. In addition, the hem has been treated with silicone to prevent the shell from slipping up while you are on the move. When I first wore it, I only noticed that the cuffs and hem are orange, and I didn't notice any of the functions... It's not like there's a manual included, and I only found out about it after reading the product description on the website, so some people may not know about it. It's a shame that it's so simple that it lacks appeal. While taking action, the shell certainly didn't move up, so it's a Scandinavian design that does a good job without making any claims (and actually wants them to be asserted).
It's cold, hot, and sticks to your skin
Sorry for the negative adjective list. It weighs 160g so I thought it would be extremely windproof, but it's cold when it gets blown by the wind... I thought, "Then I'll have better breathability instead," but as I was taking action, it was getting hot and humid... The fabric is also sticking to the skin, and it feels like it's wearing a wind shell, so what should I do? It's not compact even when stored, it's priced at Scandinavian prices, and the small details are full of waste, even though they do a good job. If the pockets are at least ventilated, it's quite different because it's ventilated.
Arc'teryx Chita SL Hoodie
The thickness of the fabric differs between the back, arms, and trunk
As you can see from the photo, the fabric is different depending on the part, and "windproof material is used on the arms and trunk, and Permair on the back and under the armpits to improve breathability." The switching of this fabric is quite innovative. I was carrying my backpack on my back, but it's true that the back doesn't get stuffy and the armpits aren't stuffy either. Also, since it doesn't have a tight design, if it's a small backpack that's just a few liters for trail running, you could carry the backpack first before putting on the shell. The fabric feels a little shaky when worn, but when worn it is actually supple and has a good skin feel.
It's light at 95g, but has two pockets!
Wearing that is aimed at reducing weight often does not have pockets, but it's nice that there are two pockets. To put it simply, if this pocket were ventilated, it would be better to breathe while you're on the move, which is a shame.
It's the most compact, but it's difficult to store
It can be stored in the smallest shells compared this time, and is about half the size of a plastic bottle. However, it's a bit difficult to make it this small. The website says, "Fold and store the jacket in the internal pocket," but first of all, I wonder, "Where is the internal pocket?" Moreover, the internal pockets are small, so it feels like you'll be forced to pack your clothes in. So if you spread out the clothing after storing it, you will have to face it with a very wrinkled condition.
It's hot or cold. I want to go either way
The collar is raised so heat builds up and the neck feels particularly hot. For me, it's painful to have a hot neck. It's increasing the discomfort. I feel like I want to lower the zipper, but it's cold when I lower it. The back and armpits have a very good breathability, so it's quite cold when the wind blows. It's a negative thing that the large back surface gets cold quickly.
STATIC Apostro Light Hoodie
Designs that can be worn in town
It has a sophisticated khaki color and a mod coat-like feel, and if you wear it you can look like former OASIS Liam Gallagher. The brand logo on the left chest is also cool. No one would think it's outdoors. Perfect for wearing in the city.
Completely prevent the wind
The thick fabric keeps the wind out. I think it's a good windproof match with Millet. However, it is hot because it is not breathable or breathable. If you wear it while taking action, you will sweat a lot and get sweaty and get cold. This shell is useful during long breaks or cold places and times.
It doesn't become packable, and water doesn't repel
The only thing that didn't packable was this shell. It looks like it can be stored in a pocket. Also, although it repels water at first, it absorbs it quickly at an early stage, creating a puddle in the large pocket. It may be difficult to wear it in the rain.
Sustainable wear made from recycled nylon fibers
Fiber waste generated during the process of making clothing. This waste is generally incinerated or disposed of. However, this shell is made from fabric made from recycled nylon fibers from the fiber waste. In addition, the water repellent is an environmentally friendly processing agent called "NEOSEED" that does not use fluorine.
Outdoor wear is constantly improving and high specs, but on the other hand, large amounts of water, chemical solvents and energy are used during production, making it a heavy burden on the environment. The brand "STATIC" is making outdoor items using products with lower environmental impact.
In order to create high-performance clothing, I realized for the first time that it is environmentally harmful, and I thought that in the future, I should also consider clothing that takes into consideration the global environment.
summary
Finally, let me take a photo of something other than STATIC, which is not packable.

From left: Peak Performance, MILLET, Teton Bros., Black Diamond, Arc'teryx. Looking at it like this, there are many different shapes of packables.
This comparison of windshells. Assuming that all of them have a high level of functionality, there are differences in personality in the smallest detail, and it is clear that the clothing you choose differs depending on the purpose and preferences.
If you prefer an all-purpose item, I recommend the MILLET Breather Wilder Light Jacket, and if you're looking for lightness and windproof, I recommend the Teton Bros. Wind River Hoodie.
Will it take windproof, weight, or comfort? Alternatively, it is up to you to decide whether the pockets are size, compact, design, and environmentally friendly. This comparison review will help you get started by actually picking up and wearing clothes and choosing the one that's best for you.
