"ISPO MUNICH 2019" Report #1 Introducing the most notable gear that we encountered at Europe's largest outdoor and sports goods exhibition [Winter Sports]

I've only just mentioned a little on social media, but this year I went to ISPO MUNICH, Europe's largest general sports goods exhibition!

"ISPO MUNICH" is a dream monster event that will never be a dream come true for you to learn about the forefront of the sports business, with thousands of brands from around the world gathering around winter sports and unveiling new items for the future. This is my second time participating, following in 2018.

As I continue to use this site for a long time, I have certainly been able to check out new products from major brands at various exhibitions even when I'm in Japan. Nevertheless, if there is one reason why we can't stop paying our own bills to cover overseas exhibitions every year, it is because we can "meet a mountain of new brands and products made by new born brands and products."

Of course, there is the joy of discovering new products from a new brand. But personally, it's another part that matters. It lies in the great stimulation and positive power that we receive from them, who have eyes burned with hope and passion. When I talk to them, who are friendly and cheerful, the confusion and negative thoughts that have accumulated in Japan suddenly disappear, and for some reason I feel the courage to move forward. I came again this year to do some kind of reset.

At Outdoor Gearzine, we will be introducing as many interesting brands and items as possible, in a number of ways, as we have seen over four days of walking around this spacious venue.

Just to be sure, the products we will introduce are merely product launches aimed at the European market, and are posted based on local coverage permission. Please note that the release here in Japan is completely unrelated

The most popular winter sports gear I met at ISPO

MAMMUT SOTA HS Hooded Jacket

Looking at the recent evolution of materials, heavy, rough hard shells are now becoming fossils. MAMMUT's latest three-layer waterproof and breathable ski jacket is 4-way stretchy, and has a three-dimensional, comfortable feel, texture that is indistinguishable from the soft shell. With Primaloft padding being mapped to key points, it has a feeling of next-generation as it is not exaggerated with heat retention, moisture permeability and mobility.

SCOTT Sports Patrol E1 22 Backpack

Among the electrically controlled avalanche airbags that have been making many groundbreaking mechanisms in recent years, SCOTT avalanche airbags are equipped with the Alpride E1 System, which is excellent in many ways, including lightness, long life, and low temperature resistance. The affordable 22L will also be released next season, starting with the first appearance of this season. I really want it soon.

Smith 4D MAG

At first glance, it may look like a goggle with almost flat lens, but be careful to look at the bottom edge of the lens. It curves gently and protrudes a little forward. This makes it a groundbreaking goggle that ensures a wide field of vision, which was said to be disadvantageous to flat lenses, while also not having any distortion in the field of vision. I want this too right away.

Black Diamond JetForce PRO BT

The brand's latest model, which was one of the first to introduce an electric avalanche airbag system, is now even smaller and lighter, and can be updated using Bluetooth software. The day is approaching, soon, and soon, avalanche airbags will become popular as standard equipment for backcountry skiing!

Craft CTM Baselayer Hood Long Sleeve

The forefront of base layer development is the optimal combination of all processes, including the type of material, volume, and sewing methods based on precise calculations based on body parts, depending on the purpose and purpose. The latest snow sports base layer by Craft in Germany is an all-knit, seamlessly knitted hooded long sleeves for extraordinary ease of movement, fit and comfort. The fine mesh parts installed here and there are also some snug ones.

SPLIT SKI

How easy and safe would it be if you could store your skis so that they don't pop out of your backpack. But while ordinary people give up on the idea that it can't be helped, there are people in the world who think about something peculiar. As the name suggests, the Polish manufacturer invented mountain skiing that can be disassembled into two front and back. Is it okay in a structural sense? I think so, but I actually tried bending it, and the developers say there's no problem with the flex.

POC POCito VPD air vest + TRAX POC edition

It appears that next season, POC will be offering more snow gear with even greater safety through digital technology. One of these, the children's back protection vest, "POCito VPD air vest," has a built-in smart GPS tracker, "TRAX POC edition," in its chest pocket, which not only helps parents to know their children's current location, but also helps parents safely watch over their children at the ski resort, including SOS, behavioral measurements, and ski maps.

ODLO I-Thermic

The seemingly ordinary knit mid-layer, developed in collaboration with Clime8 by ODLO, a technical apparel brand that originated in Norway, is equipped with ultra-thin temperature control functions around the abdomen, and by setting the details using the smartphone app, the built-in sensor automatically adjusts your body temperature according to your activity. The design and functionality have become more refined every year, but this year it seems to have come to a practical level.

Peak Performance Argon

Peak Performance's latest mid-layer, using Thermore's latest high-performance recycled synthetic fiber padding "Eco Down", which has a soft texture comparable to natural down and heat retention. I am always impressed by the good sense of style that holds out sustainability, a trend in Europe, while also creating a familiar, stylish design.

snowcookies

This is interesting. By attaching the three sensors to the left and right sides of the board and to the chest, you can view detailed gliding information on the smartphone app, including previously impossible body positions. You don't know what's wrong with your own slip. Great news for those who were worried that even if they were skiing alone, they wouldn't be able to get any better! It's only compatible with iOS yet, but I'd definitely buy the Android version if it's available. Just as I thought so, it was already being deployed in Japan !

ORIGINAL+

Customized products that allow you to create original items that are optimized for your body shape and preferences are being developed in all fields of sports and fashion, but they are finally in the world of skis. ORIGINAL+ is a completely made-to-order ski developed by an Austrian venture. By inputting your body information and adding your preferred ski style and terrain, you can create a ski that is perfect for you, a world that is personalized by that person through a unique AI algorithm. Welcome to the future.

Bluebird Mountain POWDERBEE

Have you finally come this far? Drones, developed to quickly spot people who are lost in avalanches, have been introduced to the aim of appearing in these days as the safety awareness of dangerous backcountry skiing is rapidly increasing. This small and lightweight drone is carried, and in the unlikely event it will press a button to stand by in a few seconds, fly 10 times faster than a human, searching for the victim's avalanche transceiver signal, and landing near the victim to a rough position. Compared to manual searches, it is easy to imagine that these high-tech devices can be a major aid to your search.

K2 MINDBENDER 116C

A new lineup of K2's all-mountain skis, which I personally love. It uses Carbon Spectral Braid technology, which partially enables optimal flex and light weight, and is said to provide performance to allow you to enjoy powder at a higher level.

G3 FINDr

Canadian authentic backcountry gear brand G3 has released a ski for tours that was unlikely to happen. This lightweight carbon-built-in ski has magnetism around the edges at the same time, allowing the skis to stick together perfectly! Not only can you carry your skis, but you won't need to attach it to a backpack, so you can only think of something good for now.

10 PEAKS

This is also a ski gloves series that you can stick out your fingertips while still wearing gloves, which were unlikely to happen. There are many smartphone-compatible gloves, but considering the reality that the current situation is that your fingers are too thick or you have extra fingertips, it's faster to take them off, so I think this is quite reasonable.

Allied Feather & Down TrackMyDown.com

With the recent increase in demand for down products, inhumane collection methods such as forced-fed waterfowl and live placking that removes hair alive are becoming a problem. This is why Allied Feather & Down, the world's largest down supplier, will be launching this fall in collaboration with over 100 brands and retailers. It allows traceability such as access to performance parameters and additional information from tags attached to down products.

Summary: Next time, we will be discussing outdoor lifestyle

The above is a more carefully selected product from the extent to which it can be published. Next time, we will introduce some of the long-awaited mountain, camping and lifestyle outdoor gear!
