Ambassador check out Workman's new autumn/winter releases! [5] Review of tops that can be used for winter mountain climbing
Winter climbing. Even in low mountains, there are probably not many people who spend their time wearing just a T-shirt due to the cold. I would like to wear a thin outerwear to protect myself from wind and cold. However, even in order to regulate the temperature, I don't want to wear or take off as much as possible. If you want, choose one that is also good for breathability, does not get stuffy, does not interfere with, and is easy to act when climbing. From this perspective, we have picked out Workman's items.

1279 WARM SHIELD Powder Fleece Half High Neck (Outdoor Recommendation Level ★★★☆☆) 1500 yen
Easy to move ◎ Windproof ◯ Breathability △ Heat retention ◯ Feel on the skin ◎

Slim silhouette. In particular, the armpits and stomach area are quite smart.
Find Out long-sleeved half zippers are labelled "a gentle texture like powdered snow." The lining is made of fine micro powder fleece, which feels very comfortable to the touch. It feels like I've tried wearing it. The waistline is a bit tight. Even though I'm a little slender (height 180cm, weight 64kg), I felt that size M was tough. FIT STYLE is designated as a slim silhouette, so I should have chosen the L size. The sleeves also felt short. The essential micro powder fleece is thick, but the waistline under the armpits is neat and doesn't feel like it's tingling. It's smooth and very comfortable. To be honest, one piece is warm enough and makes it easy to move your arms. However, when I moved, sweat had creeped up inside my clothes and it started to get a little stuffy. It doesn't seem to be very breathable. We recommend wearing it in the morning when the temperature is low or while descending the mountain.

The sense of the pattern aside. It looks like it can be used as winter wear.

The lining is made of fine micro powder fleece. It's smooth and comfortable, but when you sweat, it can play a role in getting cold sweat.
1274 STORM SHIELD Half Zip (Outdoor Recommendation Level ★★★★☆) 1900 yen
Easy to move ◎ Windproof ◎ Breathable ◯ Heat retention ◯ Feel on the skin ◎

This is a slim silhouette with compression. The armpits are pretty neat.
The STORM SHIELD half zip is a model that makes WARM SHIELD easier to use in the field. Although it looks thin, the windproof fabric and lining are made of hexagonal block fleece, which is highly anti-cold, preventing outside air from entering and excellent heat retention inside the clothing. It depends on the weather and the situation, but for a quick climb, this is enough. And although it is windproof, it is also reasonably breathable. You rarely feel uncomfortable stuffiness even when climbing. The size is a COMPRESSION tight fit, and although it is tight, it is actually easy to move around in. It can be said to be a versatile piece. The outer material contains 10% polyurethane, which has excellent elasticity. If it's raining or cold, it's probably best to wear a shell.

Hexagonal block fleece lining. The balance of windproof, breathability and heat retention is just right.

Overall there is compression. Easy to move around and easy to use.
1262 FINE ASSIST T-shirt with short sleeve pockets (Outdoor recommendation level ★★★★☆) 580 yen
Easy to move ◎ Water repellent ◎ Breathable ◯ Quick drying ◯ Feel on the skin ◎

A cheap, durable water-repellent T-shirt. Perfect as an inner layer.
At first glance, it looks like a normal T-shirt, but it is a durable water-repellent T-shirt that repels water even after 50 washes. It uses DIAMAGIC DIRECT (Diamagic Direct/A fabric with a high standard of durable water repellent and easy to remove dirt) developed by Mitsubishi Corporation Fashion. You might think it's rough, but when you wear it, it gives a very soft impression. Also, deodorizing threads are woven into the armpits, so if you let them dry after climbing, you can still wear them (only for those who don't mind it). Made from 100% polyester, it dries fairly quickly. I tried spilling coffee and its water repellent properties were clearly visible. The spilled area only soaked into the lining... Because it's a T-shirt, it's likely to be over 50 washes, but it's quite practical. Considering ease of use, I think the left chest pocket would be fine if it had a zipper type.

I carried a 35kg load and headed for the mountains. It dries easily and is odor-resistant, so I kept it on as is after it arrived at my destination.

When I spilled coffee...

After a while, I tried playing. It just soaked into the fabric. Please be aware that it is not waterproof.
summary
When it comes to winter clothing, it is important to keep warm, but sometimes windproofing is more important to protect your body from the cold air outside. It is used according to the situation of the field. The STORM SHIELD half zipper I tried this time has a high level of finish. It has good windproof, cold protection, and breathability, making it a wide range of defensive features. WARM SHIELD Powder Fleece Long-sleeved half zippers tend to get stuffy, but they have high heat retention. Depending on the situation on the field, there will probably be many opportunities. FINE ASSIST T-shirts with short sleeve pockets can be worn all year round, and although they are not waterproof, they can be used to prevent rainwater from getting directly wet even in rainy weather. Anyway, I highly recommend the combination of the STORM SHIELD half zip and the FINE ASSIST short-sleeved T-shirt with pockets.
