Following on from last time, we have released the second archived video digest (Practical Q&A Part 1) of the event "NIKWAX Care Special" held on November 7th on YouTube, so we would like to share it with you
Video synopsis
00:20 - What's the most important thing to keep in mind to make your mountain gear last longer?
A: Be careful of humidity! Here are some tips on how to store it to avoid humidity
02:45 – What should you be careful of when maintaining your clothing, and what are some common mistakes you might make?
A: Be careful of detergent accumulating in the hood and pockets! (See the video for washing tips on how to avoid this.)
04:45 – NIKWAX has three types of laundry detergent: Tech Wash, Down Wash, and Wool Wash. What are the differences between them? Is the basic one not enough?
A: To summarise, use "Wool Wash" for wool. For everything else, "Tech Wash" is fine. However, using "Wool Wash" for base layers will improve water absorption. Incidentally, at this time, the surprising relationship between "water-repellent down" products that are resistant to moisture and do not get wet, which have become popular in recent years, and NIKWAX's down water repellent agent was revealed. Watch the video to find out more!
09:18 – NIKWAX offers four types of water repellents: TX. Direct, Downproof, Cottonproof, and Polarproof. What are the differences between them?
A: To summarize, "Downproof" repels water from both the outer fabric and the down, "Cottonproof" is effective on coarse fabrics, and "Polarproof" can be used on terry fabrics and brushed synthetic materials (fleece and softshells). We also heard various tips on how to wash, repel water, and dry down products
