[What kind of brand is Rab?] 】The digest video (part 1) has been released [11/7 Special feature on mountain tools maintenance, and entries are now being accepted]
I've started discord
This season, we are starting this fifth offline talk workshop event hosted by Outdoor Gearzine, "What is the right answer to care for the mountains?" (NIKWAX Special) is less than two weeks away. We are still adjusting whether we can't pack any plans (please look forward to those details until the very last minute!)
Now, I have published an archive video (part 1) on YouTube that summarizes part of the previous event, "Rab Special", in a digest, so I'll share it.
The first part focused on basic information about the brand Love and the topics such as, "What's so amazing about Love, unlike other brands?" This is a must-see video, which is filled with their sincerity towards outdoor culture and tools, as well as extraordinary determination and feelings from guest Yamazaki. We will introduce some of the most popular items this season, which you may be interested in, in the second part, so please look forward to this as well.
Also, if you'd like to know the actual atmosphere of offline events, please take a look.

Theme: "Mountain Tool Care Consultation Room" - Ask the person in NIKWAX about everything you need to know about mountain equipment maintenance -
is How to care for and store mountain equipment, which will become the most important thing for everyone who works on the mountain
It's sudden, but
- How often do you wash your rainwear you wear in the mountains?
- How do you wash it?
- What kind of detergent do you use?
- How do you dry it?
- Do you just need to clean it with detergent?
- Do you know the appropriate care methods for using materials such as down, wool, synthetic fibers, and leather products?
- What do you do with shoes, gloves, and backpacks?
- How do you store washed clothes and tools?
- Do you know how to wash it should not be done?
If you're not confident in the answer even one of these, be sure to join us and feel refreshed!
In the fifth installment, we will invite Evernew, who has been handling NIKWAX in Japan for many years, to learn a lot about how to use and tips on how to maintain tools, including how to work with outdoor gear, how to actually care for them, and how to store them after maintenance!
What is NIKWAX?
NIKWAX, which has been a maintenance product for outdoor wear since the 1970s, is a pioneer in maintaining maintenance, one after another, has established new standards for aftercare for mountain equipment, from water-repellent recovery products for leather shoes, to cleaning and water-repellent agents for clothing, to various gears such as sleeping bags, tents, and gloves. Furthermore, when ozone reduction and aerosol sprays were a concern in the 1980s, it was an extremely important brand that was always very environmentally conscious, with the creation of a water-soluble NIKWAX lineup immediately.
The person at NIKWAX teaches you plenty of "secret care"
Ota has been involved with NIKWAX for many years among Evernew and is literally one of Japan's most familiar with NIKWAX. At the event, Ota would like to teach you as much as time can as possible about how to care for mountain wear and mountain equipment, from scratch to basics and practical know-how.
We ask for questions in advance
We would like to make the event as practical as possible, rather than what is written on the manufacturer's website or textbooks, and to make it more practical and accessible to the itchy areas, so after first giving a brief introduction to NIKWAX, we would like to proceed in a "concern consultation" format where you can answer specific questions in a lively manner.
For this reason, we are looking for questions in advance so that we can respond as many questions as possible smoothly. Whether you are planning to participate or not, if you would like to take this opportunity to ask about mountain equipment maintenance, please use the question form below ↓↓↓!
Ask NIKWAX (Go to the Google Form question posting page)
Bring items to the site and we will also be able to diagnose your worries on the spot.
Those who participate on-site can easily consult with professionals in the field with questions that are difficult to do, such as, "If it's become this old, will it be replaced, or is it possible to maintain it yet?"
We will also demonstrate water repellent maintenance
In addition to consultations on the day, we will also be planning to demonstrate water-repellent maintenance, which is essential for the winter. Details will be announced later as soon as other specific details are decided. If you have any other requests that have been performed at the event, please let us know using the question form above.
This time we will be streaming live online again
We are also planning to use Zoom webinars to stream live, so we would like to prepare so that even those who simply can't participate can enjoy watching it without any effort. As much as time allows, you can ask questions while watching online, so please come and join us from all over the world!
