[Breaking News] Summary of the latest outdoor gear that interests me at ISPO MUNICH 2017
This site checks out the world's outdoor exhibitions, which are a tradition every year. This time, we will be reporting on the ISPO (International Trade Show for Sports Equipment and Fashion), one of the world's largest sports goods exhibitions, which is held every year in Munich, Germany, that covers not only outdoor activities, but also health and fitness, action sports, and winter sports. This year, various manufacturers from all over the world, both large and small, have announced exciting new items for the European market, giving us a glimpse into the future of the outdoor scene.
This year marks the third time I've been watching over the internet, and as usual, I'll be introducing some new products that are worthy of personal attention this year as well, ramblingly. Furthermore, we have more information on new products from North American brands in the ORWM2017 feature article I mentioned last month , so if you look at it together, I think we can cover a lot of new outdoor gear that will be attracting attention for next season.
It's interesting to see how the points and perspectives that are attracting attention in North America and Europe are different. This year, I'm particularly concerned about the fact that ISPOs in Europe are far more noticeable in digital gear, which makes full use of IT, compared to ORs in North America. I've heard that the recent high-profile ventures at non-outdoor exhibitions such as CES (Consumer Electronics Show) are European players such as France, so the European startup boom may be a major trend across industries.
Incidentally, the product information announced is for the European market, so it is undecided whether these will be released in Japan, and whether the release date and price are completely undecided, so please take that into consideration.

"Outdoor x IoT" Smart Wearable Gear Edition is no longer a surprise or anything
Carv
First, we have a few smart gear items that utilize sensors and cloud technology that have evolved at an incredible rate in recent years. First, the Carv insole-type smart gear will be released after working at British startup KICK STARTER. The smart insole collects a lot of detailed data, and instantly analyzes them, and coaches your skis in real time through the earphones at the bottom (from around 1:15 English video below). Since it's a Kickstarter project, we still need more information about the details, but if it does come true, it could become an incredibly grateful gadget. Someone give me the Japanese version! MOUNTAIN HUB AVATECH SCOPE POLE
Next is a "smart" ski pole for use in backcountry skiing, etc. The AVATECH SCOPE POLE is a seemingly ordinary carbon ski pole, but it is a groundbreaking gear that when you thrust the pole into the snow surface, it analyzes the cross-section of the snow using various sensors built into it. This collected data will be accumulated as big data via networks on the cloud, and the more popular it becomes, the more detailed it will lead to an elucidation of the mechanism of avalanches. What's more, it's not just the idea of a single gear, but also the way it works well from an academic perspective. ISPO AWARD 2017 WINNER. HP → http://mountainhub.com/connected-devices/
POMOCUP
Smart gear that can be attached to skis has also been released. Pomocup, a joint development by the well-established ski sticker brand POMOCA and spinoff company Gait Up of the Swiss Lausanne Institute of Technology, is the first wearable gear for skiing climbing, tracking every motion (up to the number of stickers worn and kick turns!) during the tour, measuring downhill performance, and providing metrics to analyze and improve them. Of course, you can sync it with your smartphone after your actions, share and collect it with users. ISPO AWARD 2017 GOLD WINNER. HP → http://pomocup.com/
DIGITSOLE RUN PROFILER
RUN PROFILER, a smart insole for running, not only measures basic values such as speed, distance, calories, and steps using a built-in sensor, but also analyzes posture and fatigue levels based on which part of the sole of the foot is applied. This allows you to warn us via a smartphone app, for example, when the risk of injury increases based on this data. Furthermore, this app is said to be able to constantly analyze data and propose appropriate advice in real time. As an aside, up until now, these high-tech gear would have been a Japanese specialty, but sadly, development of these advanced items has become all Western startups. The existing manufacturers are still as energetic as ever. Apparel Gear Edition
NORRONA LOFOTEN ACE GORE-TEX PRO JACKET
The 2017 new release from Norrona, a full-fledged Nordic alpine brand, has been renewed from the Lophoten series, a line for backcountry skiing. This first jacket is made from GORE-TEX Pro fabric, which uses newly developed Vectoran fiber, and boasts the highest durability and is said to be suitable for all conditions.
Fjällräven Bergtagen Eco-Shell Jacket
Ferraven is often considered a casual brand in Japan, from everyday life to camping, and is known in its home country of Sweden as a more sturdy and robust authentic outdoor brand. It appears that the brand will finally launch the full-scale mountaineering wear category "Bergtagen" next season. It is unclear whether it will be available in Japan or not, but I am very excited because I have already recognized the quality of the product.

SCARPA RIBELLE TECH OD
This year's PRODUCT OF THE YEAR was the innovative alpine boots from a long-established Italian mountaineering boots manufacturer. It offers top-class comfort, lightness, durability and flexibility, while also supporting the technical performance that alpinists want. With waterproof and breathable OutDry, a robust Vibram sole, and a clampon heel, it seems to be an all-around boot that can be used in a wide range of ranges, from trekking to mountain climbing. Details are unconfirmed, but at this point, there is no competition for any model from any brand (or Salomon's X-Alp Carbon, if I had to say, is this boot that seems to be in a completely new way.

BERGHAUS HYPER 100 JACKET
Berghouse, a British pride and comprehensive outdoor manufacturer, always has the impression that it always makes some amazingly spec items. The HYPER 100 JACKET is not only the shocking 97 grams, but the most breathable jacket in Berghouse history (55,000 g/m²/24h). I wonder when the competition for the lightest waterproof shell will end! ISPO AWARD 2017 GOLD WINNER.

PETZL: NOCTILIGHT
Petzl's unique headlamp cover can also be used as a lantern. That's all, but there's no misoperation of the headlights, and the idea of two birds with one stone is so pleasant that I can't help but want to use it. ISPO AWARD 2017 WINNER.

PETZL GUILLY
Petzl already has a lightweight backcountry axe called "Ride", but this new ice axe "Gurry" is just as ultra-lightweight (280g), but also has a sharper pick and an adjustable handrest that is easy to grip, making it suitable for technical speed climbing. Well, it looks good after all! (Front to the left photo) Website → https://www.petzl.com/GB/en/Sport/New/GULLY#.WKHO3_mLSCo

PETZL Sirocco helmet
Meanwhile, the "Scirocco" ultra-lightweight helmet made with expanded polypropylene (EPP) has also been upgraded. Although the weight is almost the same, it has improved impact resistance than hybrid materials, and covers the back of the head, improving safety.
