The reason for this is simply that a new mountaineering equipment store has opened in this area!
So, this is going to be our usual surprise report
From in front of Hachioji Station
Exit the north exit of JR Hachioji Station and turn left
If you do that, you will enter the West Radiation U-Road, a shopping street that will appear before you
After that, just continue straight along the U-Road
It's roughly a 5 to 10 minute walk in total, and on your left you'll see the new wave Hachioji mountain climbing equipment store!
The shop is on the second floor, up these stairs. The logo has an unexpectedly cute combination of elements
There are tons of flowers in front of the entrance on the second floor! It's clear that the place is already loved by everyone
A powerful hook is unleashed out of nowhere!
Believe it or not, they're holding a pop-up shop from the very first day of opening! They're really going for it right from the start
AoExpress was the first to participate in the pop-up event on the opening day of the Hachioji Mountaineering Equipment Store
As you can guess from the brand name, they offer a selection of custom gear, and one item we've picked out is this headlight. And the price? A surprising 1500 yen!?
But this thing is well-made; it has features you'd expect, like adjustable light intensity, a battery level indicator, and a motion sensor. The battery life also seems decent, and considering the price, it's an absolute bargain!
So, what is this, you ask?
A must-have for outdoor hikers!? A mosquito net that only covers your face! Apparently, the mesh has been re-dyed from the original design. As a side effect, it allows you to see the night sky beautifully. AoExpress has a rather adventurous lineup, and their products are reasonably priced, so they shouldn't be underestimated
Sales were apparently very good from the first day, leading to the delightful question: "Did the products last until the next day!?"

This is another craft cola I've never seen before, and I'm curious about it! Apparently, they plan to start selling alcoholic beverages in the future, so it's a must-see for hikers who enjoy a drink
They also offer drip bags of their original coffee, and one of them is decaffeinated, so having that option to choose from is a nice touch
Furthermore, the Mountain Gourmet Lab and UL Bento brands, which are rarely seen together, have a wide selection of products, making the choice quite difficult! The energy bars from each company are also not to be missed

The two people who founded the Hachioji Mountaineering Equipment Store are Mr. Kato and Mr. Hori (from left to right). It turns out they are also the masterminds behind the HIKER'S FLEA MARKET, held in Omiya, Saitama Prefecture, which has been a huge success over the past two years. No wonder expectations for the store are so high!
The opening day was a weekday Friday, but as you can see, it was a huge success
And so, a new, exciting store has appeared in Hachioji. Looking at the Hachioji area in a broader sense, it feels like the range of outdoor stores has expanded considerably. I can only hope for further growth from this Hachioji mountaineering equipment store, and it would be wonderful if it were featured in the Yamatomachi series
