[This year too] I'm going to "Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2016," one of the world's largest outdoor gear fairs.

This season has arrived again this year. "Outdoor Retailer Summer Market" is one of the world's largest outdoor gear fairs held twice a year (summer and winter) in Salt Lake City, USA. To be honest, it may not be physically a time to interview exhibitions twice a year, but I haven't learned my lesson yet, so I decided to go again this year.

2015 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market – Recap

First of all, for first-time users, "Outdoor Retailer Summer Market" is a four-day event in which more than 1,600 large and small outdoor brands (according to 2015) gather from all over the world, and the latest gear scheduled to be released for the North American market next season will be unveiled for the first time. As we reported in this report, we reported on what we covered last year , but as it is an event in the North American market, it can be said to be a leading global outdoor market, it is a unique opportunity to quickly and easily sense the major trends in outdoor gear.

By the way, as I mentioned a little earlier, a similar trade fair is also being held in Europe, and we have already reported the details here . However, looking at the genres of exhibitors, you can see a different American feel from Europe. Backpacking, camping, hiking, climbing, alpine climbing, cycling, mountain biking, fishing, fly fishing, hunting, health & fitness, paddle sports, water sports, SUP, pet supplies, running, trail running, surfing, skating, triathlon, endurance, yoga, pilates, military, adventure travel, health foods... In addition to a wide range of outdoor activities, there are also many exhibits in the lifestyle and healthcare sectors, and the appearance of a special booth featuring the "Made in America," a movement that has been gaining popularity in recent years, is a characteristic of the American market.

Of course, there is a good chance that unknown activities that are not mentioned above every year, such as the slacklines that have recently become visible all over the world. There are so many reckless America that it feels so pleasant, and the countless exhibiting booths are filled with diversity, from brands that showcased with these products to amazing products that change the world, and even looking at the outdoor industry, it makes you realize that, for better or worse, this is the vitality of America itself. There are a lot of junk, but encountering these few new innovations is the real joy of this event, and the reason why I couldn't help but go again this year.

For this reason, this event is full of passion for everyone, from global brands that are spreading around the world to garage brands with a DIY spirit, to make the world awful. What new encounters will you have this year? We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but please come along with us for a few more interview reports. Looking forward to the next week!
