What is the ATEX "SOYO Single Sleep Mat AX-BS632"?

I installed the ATEX "SOYO Single Sleep Mat AX-BS632" in the main bed of my camper van. Because it's single size, it fit perfectly
Bedding with an electric fan that reduces uncomfortable humidity and heat
Summer seems to get hotter and hotter every year. I live in Hokkaido, and I'm no exception. Even here, temperatures easily exceed 30 degrees, so it's really hot
If you're at home, you can just use an air conditioner, but that's not the case when you're camping or traveling in a camper van. Many people would think that if you're traveling in a camper van, you can just use an air conditioner. It's a different story if you have access to a power source, but even if your camper van has an air conditioner, if you don't have access to a power source, you won't be able to leave it on all night, as it consumes a lot of electricity. And my camper van doesn't have a cabin air conditioner
To put it in extreme terms, a campervan trip would be like sleeping in a bed inside an FRP box that has poor ventilation and no air conditioning. I think tents are cooler because they have good ventilation and don't trap heat as easily. That's why every summer I search for ways to stay cool
And for this summer, we have introduced ATEX's "SOYO Single Sleep Mat AX-BS632" (hereafter referred to as "SOYO Single Sleep Mat"). The market price is 29,700 yen including tax, which is by no means cheap. However, this "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" is, in simple terms, a 3D fiber mattress made of resin fibers with an electric fan attached. It is said to expel moisture and heat that builds up in the mattress in the summer along with the air, reducing night sweats and discomfort. Just imagining a 3D fiber mattress with a fan sounds cool, doesn't it?
The reason I chose the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" as a mattress for campervan trips and camping is its incredibly low power consumption. Surprisingly, if used 12 hours a day, the electricity bill is said to be about 18 yen per month (calculated at 31 yen per kWh). Using it 12 hours a day for 30 days will only consume about 580Wh of electricity. This means it only consumes about 1.5W of electricity while in operation. With this in mind, I thought I could sleep cool and comfortably in my campervan or while camping without having to worry about power consumption, so I decided to give it a try
Recommended points
- I was surprised to find that I no longer sweat while sleeping
- I don't really feel the coolness, but the humidity is gone and it's quite comfortable
- Even when operating at "strong" mode, it consumes only about 1.5W of power
- The top mat cover can be removed and washed
Points of interest
- The sound of the fan running can be annoying until you get used to it
- It would be even more convenient if it could be powered by a DC power source such as USB

I tested it in a camper van where it was over 30 degrees at 7pm
I'm concerned about the electricity consumption, but for now I set the timer to 12 hours on high power

On the day of the test, the temperature in the camper cabin was 30.5°C at around 7pm, making it extremely uncomfortable to sleep in
When I heard about the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat," I arranged to try it out in my camper van this summer. I had hoped to test it on a hot day in May or June, but Hokkaido's nights were surprisingly cool. Furthermore, Honshu and Tokyo are extremely hot, so even if I wrote a report saying that the camper van's interior temperature was just over 20 degrees, and it was comfortable even on a hot day, I was afraid people would say, "That's because Hokkaido is cool and comfortable." So, I waited quite a while for the day of the test
And on a record-breakingly hot day for Hokkaido, the temperature inside the camper van exceeded 30°C at 7pm, even though it was already July. That day, I had plans to photograph the starry sky from around midnight, so I first thought I'd take a nap
For those who live in areas where temperatures above 30 degrees are commonplace, it may not be surprising that the interior of a camper van is over 30 degrees, but for me, who lives in Hokkaido where morning temperatures are often in the teens, sleeping in a camper van that is over 30 degrees is a little insane
In fact, just being inside the camper makes you sweat profusely. This is the situation where you want to take a nap. Incidentally, when it comes to items for sleeping comfortably in a camper, if you can't secure a power source, you'll have to rely on the camper's onboard battery or a portable power source, so power consumption is also a very important factor. For this reason, I connected the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" to a portable power source, in my case the AC power source of an EBL 1,000Wh portable power source, and observed the power consumption
The "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" not only has the power on/off controls, but also the ability to adjust the fan speed and timer between 6, 9 and 12 hours. It also has an automatic "Sleep" mode that cycles between 15 minutes on high and 75 minutes on low, with the power turning off after 9 hours
For now, since it was hot inside the camper van, I set the airflow to high and activated the ``SOYO Single Sleep Mat'' on a 12-hour timer
After 4 hours, the electricity consumption was 0%. I woke up and was fast asleep without even breaking a sweat

About four hours after I turned it on, the power was still working but the remaining battery level was not decreasing and the power consumption display remained at 0W. I thought the portable power supply was broken..
I wanted to check how much electricity was consumed per hour, and I was also curious to see how much the room temperature would drop at night, so I decided to just lie around on the SOYO Single Sleep Mat for about an hour, but I was surprised at how easily I fell asleep
When I started to lie down at around 7pm, the room temperature was over 30 degrees, and it was much hotter than usual, so I assumed it would be difficult to fall asleep. However, when I actually lay down on the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" there was an electric fan running, and although the wind was blowing hard, it didn't feel cool, but because the air was moving, the parts of my body that were in contact with the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" felt surprisingly dry
When sleeping in a hot place, I usually sweat between my mattress and the comforter, and this slight feeling is very uncomfortable, but not having this sweat makes a big difference in comfort. However, although the noise of the electric fan is not unpleasant, it is quite noticeable until you get used to it because it is very close to your feet
While I was thinking, "I wish the electric fan was a little quieter," I fell asleep. I woke up about four hours later, about 30 minutes later than I had planned to go out to photograph the starry sky, but I had been sleeping soundly up until that point. I slept more soundly than I had expected
At 11pm, the room temperature in the camper van was 25°C, a drop of about 5°C, but it was still hot enough for me, and I slept better than I expected. At this point, I was worried about the electricity usage, so I took a photo of the information panel on the portable power source, but the remaining power hadn't changed from 100%. I thought the portable power source had broken, but I didn't have much time, so I headed off to photograph the starry sky
Even if you use the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" until the morning, the battery level remains at 100%

The control panel of the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat." There are four buttons: power on/off, sleep, fan speed, and timer. This section also has a built-in electric fan
After photographing the starry sky, I returned to the camper van at 3:30 AM, and the room temperature had dropped to about 21°C. I wanted to know the electricity consumption while I was away, so I had the SOYO Single Sleep Mat running, but when I returned, the portable power supply's battery was still at 100%, so I assumed the portable power supply was broken and went to sleep
The room temperature had dropped to nearly 20 degrees, so I thought I'd be able to sleep more comfortably, but the summer towel blanket I had initially put on was cold. I wanted to keep the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" running at high power, so I didn't turn it off and instead brought out a slightly thicker futon, and slept for another three hours. It was so comfortable that it was a little cold
A 1,000Wh portable power source consumes only a margin of error in electricity consumption

It consumes so little power that when I measured how much power it consumed when running at high power using a Sanwa Supply watt monitor, it was just 1.3W
When I woke up at 6:30 in the morning, the room temperature was 21°C, and the portable power supply's battery was still at 100%. I decided that the battery level indicator on the portable power supply was broken, so I attached a Sanwa Supply Watt Monitor, which measures AC power consumption, and measured the power consumption of the SOYO Single Sleep Mat. It was about 1.3W on high power. I used the SOYO Single Sleep Mat for about 11.5 hours, from 7:00 PM to 6:30 AM, so the power savings was about 15Wh
Since 1% of the 1,000Wh EBL portable power supply I use is about 10Wh, the remaining charge display on the portable power supply did not seem to change even when I used the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat," which only consumes about 15Wh of electricity in 11.5 hours
With such low power consumption, you won't need to worry about a separate power source even if you use the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" every day during camping trips or camping trips. This is a major advantage when traveling in a camper or camping, where you have to be careful about the remaining power. I'm very grateful
Summary: A great product that consumes very little power and will relieve you from night sweats
The manufacturer's published value was a temperature reduction of -0.6 degrees, but the humidity reduction effect of -37.9% was greater than expected!

The parts that come into contact with the pillow etc. feel hotter than the parts that come into contact with the "SOYO Single Good Sleep Mat," so some kind of ingenuity may be needed in this area
The manufacturer's published figures for the effectiveness of the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" claim that it has a maximum dehumidifying effect of -37.9% and a temperature reduction effect of 0.6 degrees. I had imagined a mattress made of 3D fiber with a three-dimensional structure made of oil fibers, with an electric fan attached that would blow air through it like an electric fan, so the effect was smaller than I expected
In reality, it's not so much that the wind blows through the mattress, but rather that the air circulates to prevent moisture from building up inside the mattress, so the feeling that the temperature is actually lowered is quite weak. However, when you sleep in hot weather, moisture builds up, causing you to sweat while sleeping, which often makes you feel even more uncomfortable, so just being able to prevent night sweats makes you feel very comfortable. When traveling in a camper van, there are times when you miss a bath, so being free from the sticky feeling of night sweats is very appreciated
Another notable feature is its surprisingly low electricity consumption. This is a major advantage when traveling in a camper van or camping, but when you use it at home, you can use it without any worries, as it only costs about 18 yen a month in electricity bills
This is very welcome, as many heat-relief products consume a lot of electricity. Also, since this is a product for the sweaty season, while the main body cannot be washed, the top of the mattress cover can be removed with a zipper for hygienic reasons. Although I didn't purchase it at the same time, a dedicated cooling-touch fitted sheet (market price 4,800 yen) is also available separately, so combining it with this seems likely to provide an even more comfortable sleep. I
initially purchased the SOYO Single Sleep Mat out of curiosity, but after actually using it, I found that it is a very practical heat-relief product with low running costs and extremely low electricity consumption. It is extremely comfortable for campervan trips, outdoor activities like camping, and everyday use at home, so if you're concerned about sticky night sweats, why not give it a try? However, please note that the SOYO Single Sleep Mat circulates indoor air to ventilate the mattress, so it may not be as effective if the room temperature is too high. In such cases, it is recommended to use it in conjunction with an air conditioner to lower the room temperature and humidity.
Rather than just affecting the perceived temperature, the "SOYO Single Sleep Mat" seems to reduce the humidity, stickiness, and night sweats of summer bedding, so it's become a staple item in our campervan and also our summer bedding. I recommend it more than I expected
