2019 Season Topic 1: GORE-TEX PACLITE® Plus is here
The rapid evolution of GORE-TEX materials over the past few years has been remarkable.
Even in the field of clothing, the GORE® C-KNIT™ backer GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ in 2017 GORE-TEX Active last year, and the lightweight models have been released, making it a constant stream of highly-finished materials, and is now fully pushing back from the temporary disadvantage that was likely to be pushed by other materials in the lightweight rainwear field.

The 2.5-layer Hydroshell Elite material has a smooth, dry, and comfortable feel, so if you don't want it, you'd mistake it for a 3-layer fabric. Until now, it was positioned as a form of clothing for trail running, but this model is even more versatile and can be said to be a model that is easy to use for fast packing and speed hiking. GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ products made their shocking debut in 2017, with an amazing look with exposed membranes and outstanding breathability and sustainable high water repellency. Although I understood it was simply incredible, at that price, I honestly avoided it as something overspec for me, unless I'm a runner who is seriously pursuing time and grades.
This season, this model has now emerged with a slight change in wind direction. One is the price aspect, and the other is the diversification aspect of construction. So personally, I'm thinking of reviewing these models.

Montbell has finally released a waterproof shell with GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ for mountain climbing, not for motorcycles. What's more, it's still at a very low price, so you'll want to doubt, "Is it real?"
The silhouette is almost the same as the brand's torrent flyer, and is made in almost the same pocket position, so there is no particular surprise. However, even for GORE-TEX products, Montbell has published its waterproof and breathable specs on its website, and its destructive power is the number "water pressure resistant to over 50,000mm, breathability 80,000g/m2, 24hrs (JIS L-1099B-1 method) (reference value)"! It also weighs 185g, making it the lightest class. However, I would like to take a closer look at the durability aspects of mountain climbing with a backpack on my back, such as how much friction it can withstand. After all, at this price, you can try it without any worries, so it's a sweat.

Furthermore, instead of omitting the pockets, it is possible to understand that a wide-open ventilation zipper is attached to both chests to maximize the moisture-emission function. It's a bold and delightful statement that says, "It's not possible to prevent the rain when the ventilation is open," makes it seem unfair. This is a piece you'll always want to carry when you enter the mountains on a trail run.
