[July Event Report] I stayed at the Tent in a Big Agnes & arata tent!

Written by Yasushi Hisatomi

Last weekend, I went to Yatsugatake for a membership event, "Big Agnes & arata, a tent hike that everyone can start with," a tent hike with Big Agnes & arata, a two-day trip to Yatsugatake. To put it first, this is the best. Once again, it has become a fulfilling mountain hike that has been seen in rare cases in recent years!

Anyway, thank you to all the participants!

Thank you to Big Agnes and arata for your cooperation!

The weekend is almost over the rainy season. The weather is sunny. As always, I headed towards the parking lot with fear of the car park full.

This time, we took advantage of the previous regrets at Mizugayasanso, and despite the fact that we arrived at 5am earlier, the parking lot was full this time just before we arrived at 5am...!

Luckily, I managed to park again in a space nearby, but this is why I'm not good at parking on weekends.

This time there were repeat customers and there were relatively few people, so we went on a smooth, yet leisurely enjoying the forests of Yatsugatake.

The more you go north, the more mossy it becomes. This time, the route was just halfway between Minami Yatsugatake and Kita Yatsugatake, and the trail was filled with moss, and the clear streams were filled with coniferous forests and birch trees, and this was filled with scenery of Mt. Yatsugatake.

Even though he's an old man, when I see moss wet with morning dew, I can't help but point my camera at me.

After walking for a while, we arrived at Olen Hut, where we were scheduled to stay in our tent.

This time, the tent area was still quite empty, as it was a course that could be accessed even on a day trip. We all were able to get a flat space where we could all be set up and set up a tent without any effort, and as usual, we started setting up the facility.

This time, we chose Big Agnes' lightweight, spacey tents, Tiger Wall UL, Copper Spool UL, Fly Creek UL, and Arata's two-person tent, the AX130, to suit the wishes of the participants. At this event, we can respond to rare requests such as trying out solo but two-person ones, as long as the other party has prepared it.

We were able to give lectures on how to set up the tent, chatting about the characteristics of the product itself, and enjoying it, and it was finished in no time.

This is what Big Agnes' copper spool has. A lift-up door with a trekking pole!

A comfortable tent stay in a comfortable tent with the ultra-lightweight aluminum chair we rented together♪

The arata is just as light as it can be carried by two people! ? In any case, the comfortable and spacious living space is calm.

Flowers bloom as we discuss the tent.

I also had the Big Agnes air mattress used properly. Unfortunately, it is still not well known in Japan and it is difficult to see or use the product in person, but it is actually quite comfortable and the high quality is not inferior to other companies' products. All the participants were also surprised.

Once I set up my tent and settled down, I headed to Tengu-dake, a mountain that I could climb nearby (although it is 2600m in size).

From the pleasant forest that you had just had up until now, to the alpine alpine mountains!

There were a lot of alpine plants blooming in the season - the photos are getting better and faster.

The wind was blowing quite a bit, but the sky was clearing up and down, and by the time we were climbing, the blue sky was spreading out like the one we had been aiming for!

Return to the tent spot and the beer is delicious! It's time.

After this, we decided to take a break and have dinner together, but as we had expected, we were hit by a sunset, so everyone returned to our tents and we ended up getting through the process.

Well, I thought I'd have to stop in just a few minutes, but then it turned out to be until night! Unfortunately, the night at the tent area passed by in a flash with the sound of rain. I was able to sleep very well, so that was good, and I've been able to get a track record of staying in a tent in the first rain, as well as staying in a tent in the first rain.

Incidentally, the latest model of the Big Agnes that I borrowed this time uses the newly developed "HyperBead™" material for the rainfly, making it lighter than before, providing high waterproofness and strength. Thanks to this, the rain was repelled perfectly and the room was comfortable.

The rain that had been falling until late at night had just stopped coming. We can also look forward to the weather forecast today. We headed to Mt. Io to make our first visit to the sun.

At first, there was gas, but as I rose to the ridge, the sky directly above gradually began to see through, and as I had hoped, I had the time to come from the sea of clouds!

The road to the summit lit by the morning glow

Mt. Io has arrived!

I could see all the mountains around me.

...But this mountain climbing highlight is still not over.

On the way home, it was just time to get into Natsuzawa Mineral Spring, so I took the energy and took the bath! The mind and body are refreshing.

Plum soda from!

It was a very fulfilling two days full of attractions!

The next Tent Stay Challenge is scheduled to be held in September!
