[Notice] Contributed to "RUN+TRAIL Vol. 20 (October 2016 issue)"
I'm a little late, but I contributed an interview article about the European outdoor trade fair "The OutDoor Show Friedrichshafen 2016 (hereinafter referred to as ODShow)" published by Sanei Shobo, which will be released on August 27th, about the "RUN+TRAIL Vol. 20 (October 2016 issue)" about the other day, and also featured on this website!
This is the second time I have contributed to RUN+TRAIL as Outdoor Gearzine, but this article was realized rather than originally received a request, but rather by appealing to the editorial department that "I'm going to ODShow!" First of all, I'm happy to be exposed to real-time information and raw atmosphere about overseas outdoor culture and industries that have not been delivered to Japan in many places up until now, which I felt is essential to learning about the depth and appeal of the global culture of outdoor activities. On the other hand, to be honest, it's hard to continue this kind of interview every year with absolutely no charge, and at this point, I would be grateful if I could continue as an article by various media outlets like this, which would allow me to add to the cost of my coverage, and I would be grateful if I could continue next year.
As this is treated differently from a magazine special feature (Japanese racers special feature at world trail running tournaments), when you open the magazine, this article will pop in right away before the table of contents. We wanted to convey a sense of realism, so we took the time to make use of the photos we had taken over six pages, and we took a lot of effort. The visuals are unique to paper media, after all!
The brands featured are also re-picked for trail running. In addition to the not-so-recognized trail running brands in Japan, such as SCOTT and InStinct, we also featured small and interesting European brands that have not yet been featured on our website, and tried to convey the atmosphere of the entire exhibition.
In Japan, trail running and mountain climbing may even be incompatible, but although the circumstances are different, overseas it is enjoyable as an activity that allows you to enjoy the same nature. If you can feel this kind of atmosphere, I'm sure not only train run lovers but also outdoor enthusiasts will be interested, so be sure to pick them up and read it!
