We'll introduce some of the mountain tools we've come across at outdoor exhibitions around the world (part 1)

the outdoor goods exhibitions held every year around the world , I was overwhelmed by the large scale and lively atmosphere of its unthinkable size from Japan, and the unparalleled freedom of the atmosphere.

Over a thousand outdoor brands, manufacturers, buyers, media and others from around the world will gather for several days at the vast venue, where participants will be greeted by a wide range of outdoor genres, from backpacks, shoes and apparel products to the latest outdoor products that will be released next season, to the latest materials, parts, manufacturing equipment and technology.

This year, I was lucky enough to witness exhibitions with different personalities, such as the US "Outdoor Retailer," the European "The Outdoor Show," and the China "Asia Outdoor Trade Show." Some of these were also reported on this site ( Europe is here and China is here ), but of course there are still many more items that we were unable to introduce there. I can't resist the year leaving that in place, so I'll be releasing it in several separate sessions this winter break. The world is filled with mysterious gear that no one has ever seen before, and we hope that it will convey that outdoors are truly a universal industry and culture.

Just to be careful, the products introduced below are only planned to be released in each region's market, so please be aware that it is unclear whether they will become officially available here in Japan.

1. SALOMON

The Salomon booth was packed with new releases from a wide range of areas, from running to trekking. I'm particularly curious about the S/LAB SENSE ULTRA 2, a shoe for running ultra-distance races, created in collaboration with François Dennes, the world's finest ultra-runner, which was featured extensively at the entrance.

2. OSPREY

The latest product from Osprey, a male backpack specialty brand, is an ultra-lightweight, highly durable, and highly functional backpack that has a large capacity of 40L despite only about 800 grams, and also has a back frame with a ventilation function. This is possible by our unique, extremely thin fabric that is lightweight yet durable. I can't wait to get out on the field.

3. Outdoor Research

OR's latest outerwear, which always boldly challenges new materials among American brands, is fast and light style rainwear that uses the new version of Gore-Tex Active. The membrane features traditional high breathability and a supple and comfortable lining.

4. KLYMIT

Klymit, an emerging sleeping pad brand that is iconic with its original V-shaped tube that is ultra-light-oriented and yet provides a comfortable sleeping experience, has become a comprehensive sleeping gear brand with a diverse lineup. This year, in addition to the Armored V, a highly durable, comfortable air pad that won't get punctured even when placed on broken glass, the V ULTRALITE SL, the lightest Static V pad in the company's history.

5. SALMING

This sports brand originally started out as Swedish-born ice hockey equipment. In 2014, he began his running division, and not only has his high designs, but he is also active in research and development. Naturally they are also focusing on trail running, so I look forward to new releases next season.

6. CAULDRYN

The world's first self-heating insulation bottle can be used to boil water and keep it warm using the power of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can also be used as a mobile battery. Perfect for winter touring when there are few coffee shops. He won the Gear Institute's BEST NEW GEAR AWARD.

7. My Comfy Socks

These socks look just like wool, but the material is alpaca. Alpaca socks are made from carefully sewn yarn from Peru, South America, at an American factory, with high strength that exceeds merino wool, and are said to be flexible and lightweight, yet boasting moisture-wicking properties and odor-resistant properties. I've been wearing it after receiving samples, and it's certainly light and comfortable to wear with the wool socks.
