Start your tent hike with NEMO
At the last snow mountain climbing event held in March, we received the following comments
"I usually do a lot of solo hikes, but when it comes to snowy mountains, it's quite a challenge to start alone, so I'm grateful for opportunities like this."
That's true. Looking back on my life, I was able to learn everything about mountains thanks to the presence of seniors who climbed with me (until now, that role has mainly been played by university clubs and mountaineering clubs for working adults). In recent years, guide-style information has become more readily available, making it easier to start climbing alone (for better or worse), which is a convenient world we live in
However, when it comes to climbing a snowy mountain, it's not something you can just take on alone, which is why so many participants came to our last snowy mountain event
So, because of the high hurdles involved, another challenge that is difficult to tackle alone is " mountain climbing/hiking while camping in a tent ."
Through-hiking and traverse mountain climbing, where you head to a faraway destination carrying everything you need to survive, such as a tent and food, are undoubtedly the best part of an adventure through nature
However, when it comes to camping in a tent, the preparations you need to make are completely different from those for day trips or staying in a hut
First of all, it is difficult (budget-wise) to get all the equipment
And the equipment is heavy to carry (physically)
And there is a heavy sense of anxiety about the unknown, spending the night in the wilderness with no help to be sought
For these reasons, there are probably many people who have always wanted to try camping in a tent but are unable to take the final step. It's not possible to gain experience on your own, and it's also a hassle to pay a lot of money to go on a guided tour. Are there matching services? Is it for people with good communication skills? If you're wondering,
, "Let's all start a tent hike with NEMO!", perfect for those who have experienced camping in a tent and want to take it to the next level .
Tents, sleeping bags, mattresses...NEMO will help you with your equipment worries
Above all, we have some powerful supporters for this event

Number of participants and recruitment quota
Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for each date. Applications will close once the maximum number of participants has been reached. If there are any cancellations, we will make an announcement accordingly
・Minimum number of participants per date: 2 people
・Maximum number of participants per date: Approximately 8 people
We will decide whether to hold each event based on the number of applicants for each date, so if there is an imbalance in the number of applications, one event may be canceled, or the other event may be full and applications may be closed
Location (candidate)
*Please note that reservations are not yet available for the tent sites, so you may not be able to select one
Aomoso or Takamiishi Hut or Kuroyuri Hut Tent site (Shirakome Pond) or Tengudake
Oren Hut campsite to Mount Iodake
Mount Kinpu from the Fujimi-daira hut campsite
From Fukuchanso to Daibosatsu Pass
The above is a current assumption, and it is possible that the route will not be as described here. The key is to choose a route that does not require too much walking to the campsite, where the weather and conditions at the campsite are not too harsh, where it is easy to accommodate a large group, and where the climbing route itself is not too difficult
Please also note that the route may change at the last minute depending on the members and weather
We plan to hold advance online meetings with those who have registered to provide advice on the location and details, as well as advice on preparing for camping and what to bring
Matches include:
People who have done day hikes and stayed in huts up until now, but would like to try camping in a tent (but have not been able to take the plunge on their own)
People who have been camping in tents on their own until now, but want to learn practical tips for camping in tents from experienced people, such as tips on choosing equipment, how to pitch a tent, and detailed camping know-how
People who want to try camping in a tent
People who want to try out NEMO tents, mats, sleeping bags, etc
As always, the details can be adjusted as desired by the members. If you would like to sleep under a tarp or in a hammock, you are free to do so (at your own risk). We will do our best to support anyone who wants to try camping in this way, so we welcome everyone who wants to take this opportunity to try camping in their own way!
Participation fee
As always, the event is free for standard members . Everyone else will be charged a 1,000 yen event participation fee. Thank you for your understanding.
Regarding the equipment you need to prepare
Basically, we would like each person to bring their own tent equipment for a two-day, one-night stay
However, this time, NEMO and Outdoor Gearzine will support you and prepare all your equipment so that even those who don't have camping gear yet day hiking gear , including the gear you will wear, and food and drink," we will lend you other camping gear and a backpack large enough to hold all of your camping gear if you let us know in advance.
