Outdoor Gearzine's 10th anniversary celebrations for Tenkara and mountain stream fishing at Minamiuonuma

There was a concern about what would happen with the impact of Typhoon No. 10, but for some reason, this membership event is always loved by the weather god, and the Niigata area where events are scheduled will once again miraculously have little impact.

So, the planned membership-only event, Outdoor Gearzine 10th Anniversary Festival (@Imori Matsuguya, Minamiuonuma, Niigata Prefecture), was held in a simple way!

Unfortunately, some people were inconvenient, but the number of participants was four. The typhoon had not been affected at zero on Saturday, so I kept an eye on how things went, and during the day I was able to develop my energy for tomorrow with shopping, hot springs, and banquets at mountain huts.

The local supermarket is full of fresh summer vegetables such as eggplant, peppers and okra. So...

First, we made some crispy stir-fried summer vegetables and toasted them.

The main dish for tonight is teppanyaki.

We have obtained this seasonal liquor, "AKIAGARI Raw Sake," from Takachiyo Sake Brewery in Minamiuonuma City, where the mountain hut is located. This is also fragrant and mellow, and goes well with your meal.

We enjoyed the local blessings to our heart's content, and the evening of our 10th anniversary banquet began to grow in a flash.

Well, Sunday. The mornings have a miraculous, bright blue sky, making it a perfect outdoor day. Almost all of the members were looking to fish, so we set out to fish for sharks in the river we were aiming for.

I felt a subtle autumnal breeze, and threw my thread unconsciously into the clear, clear stream.

Whether or not you can catch it, it's a satisfying time.

After about three hours of fishing, I finally got a long-awaited catch. This smile was confused at the unexpected moment!

What's more, it's a natural char that is nearly the size of a length. It has a beautiful, firm body.

By the way, this one was obtained by fishing for food.

Unfortunately, the Tenkara team didn't catch any fish this time either. Next time I'll fish at Tenkara so don't be caught by other people, but I'm grateful for the release.

The weather was starting to go downhill, and we ended up fishing at a good time and headed home.

Finally, we returned to Tokyo and disbanded after having another hot spring and a local set meal.

As a result, we were able to have two extremely fulfilling days on weekends and weekends, and we are truly grateful to everyone who participated.

At Outdoor Gearzine, we will continue to hold a variety of small events with members who are able to participate in, from first-time users to veterans, so please look forward to the next episode and beyond!
