The "Outdoor Gearzine Membership" activities in May have been decided
We have been announcing two weeks ago, "Outdoor Gearzine Membership," a new membership-based community that allows you to enjoy, learn and create together" with all your members, and we will begin full-scale activities in May. This time, the schedule and overview have been solidified, so I would like to share with you what has been fixed at this point.
Part 1. [Beginners welcome] Learn the basics of mountain walking and walk your favorite trail during the season when the azaleas bloom
Anyway, let's walk the mountains together. the Okuchichibu and Okutama areas where mountain azaleas are likely to be in full bloom at this time of year , and the following dates are planned.
Date and Time: Sunday, May 19th *If there is a slight rain, it will be cancelled
If it's sunny this time of year, why not try walking along the low mountain trail with pleasant fresh greenery and mountain azaleas blooming (with hot springs after descending). The maximum number of participants is 6 people, and beginners are welcome! Also, for those who want to know how to enjoy mountain walking safely and tips, such as planning for walking the mountain, how to choose equipment, safety precautions, approaches and recommended places after descending the mountain, I can teach you carefully in my practice as I have been walking the mountain for over 20 years. Details will be provided to those who apply for participation later, so please enter using the button below.
*For memberships, the "Standard Plan" will be free, and for those who do not, please pay 1,000 yen on-site for participation fee.
Enter the hiking event in May (go to the entry form)
For now, I am planning to make camping and hiking events at roughly every month, that is, around the second and third weekends, so I think it would be great if you could keep that schedule in the back of my mind even after June.
Part 2. We will hold a monthly talk event (※Date has been changed)
I would like to hold a talk event that I have been going to since last year from May.
Date and location:Wednesday, May 29thMay 30th (Thursday) 7pm from @Masuda Kobo 1st floor space
*We are currently rescheduling schedules with guests, so there may be changes in the unlikely event of a change. Thank you for your understanding.
As usual, the number of participants offline participants was 20. It is also possible to participate in live streaming online. However, we are currently in the process of final adjustments on the theme and speakers, so please wait a moment. We will set up an entry page once the details are decided.
*For members of the "Standard Plan" membership, we will be free to participate, while for those who are not, we will charge a participation fee of 1,000 yen.
Also, for now, I'm planning to start talking event at around the last Wednesday every month. We would like to continue with this assumption from June onwards, so please look forward to it.
Part 3. We are currently producing members-only content that interviews a wide range of people who know the dawn of Japan's outdoor culture.
From "climbing" to "outdoors." From the 1980s when Japanese outdoor culture blossomed, we are currently in the process of learning about the turbulent half-century of interviews with the diverse people who have carved out the outdoor industry and culture from various positions, including manufacturers, agents, distribution and media, and have supported this foundation to this day. By listening to the dynamic, hot and hot air of the outdoor culture that Japan has built on its own, which has never been talked about before, and we are working hard to create an interview series that will help you think about tips for the future of Japan's outdoor culture to blossom in a richer and more creatively. The first release will be released in May, so please look forward to this as well.
Part 4. We will be participating in the "Shirataka Hill Trail Kick-Off Event" hosted by YLT Club again this year.
This year, we will be participating in the 2024 Shirataka Hills Trail Kick-Off Event, hosted by professional hiker Saito Masashi's YLT Club.
Date and Time: Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th, 2024
Location: Yamagata City Boys' Nature House, Prefectural Forest
Participation overview and participation application: Event overview and participation application page
Just like last year, we plan to hold a flea market with some reviewed items. We are also considering Tsukiyama skiing or day hiking in the area before and after, so if there is someone nearby who will be there to go along, let's go to the mountains together. Please feel free to contact us.
Please sign up for Outdoor Gearzine Membership
So we are continuing to recruit subscribers for Outdoor Gearzine Membership. The "Standard" membership is by far the best. You need 2,000 yen to participate in each of the two hiking and talking events, but with a membership, it costs only 1,000 yen, so there's no reason to get in! All your support will be used to fund such projects and events. I think it's crowdfunding for Outdoor Gearzine, so I look forward to seeing you all.
This is an overview of the future of membership to all of our members the other day. If you are interested, please read this.
What is Outdoor Gearzine Membership?
How do I sign up for Outdoor Gearzine membership?
Outdoor Gearzine is participating in "OFUSE," a web service that supports creators. The first method of support is Outdoor Gearzine membership (hereinafter referred to as membership) that utilizes OFUSE's "monthly membership feature."
At "Membership," we would rather provide new content and services unique to Outdoor Gearzine, which will allow those who support us to enjoy the outdoors more than ever before.
*To use "OFUSE", you must first register a new account (Sozi ID). We apologize for the inconvenience, but please follow the instructions to create an account before joining the membership.
There are two types of memberships: "Light Plan" and "Standard Plan."
Memberships currently offer a Light Plan Standard Plan that allows you to participate in various events such as offline events for free
Various events are scheduled to be held at least once a month (scheduled to start in late May), and in addition to the talk events that we had held last year, we are also considering workshops, study sessions, and screenings with instructors. Furthermore, for those who are too far away to travel, or those who were unable to participate because they were unable to make the event on the day, we plan to provide live streaming online and archival content, so we would appreciate your support from people all over the country.
In addition to these offline events in Tokyo, we also plan to hold meetup events for camping, hiking, running, and other outdoor activities about once a month. We will decide how we will proceed in the future with the members who have actually become members.
Support plan name | Light Plan | Standard Plan |
---|---|---|
Monthly fee | 500 yen / month | 1000 yen / month |
Operational support | ◯ | ◯ |

We are also accepting rave reviews for "support through fan letters" using OFUSE
The second support method is to use OFUSE's "fan letter function."
In this case, we would appreciate your support by logging in to OFUSE using the above 2D barcode or using the link below. We will read all of the senders carefully and send you a reply to them.
It is not a personal or corporate type, so we would appreciate your consideration and support.
