Review: berghaus Hyper 100 Jacket This is the cutting edge of the day! "The world's lightest 3-layer" rainwear
The sudden changes in the weather in the mountains are commonplace, so if you enter the mountains, rainwear should be carried with you for safety, no matter what the situation. Even if you can quickly descend the mountain like a trail run and want to keep your luggage as light as possible, there are no exceptions.
However, even so, if a certain degree of collapse is not expected, everyone will feel the same dilemma between ideals and rationality about carrying it. No matter what, everyone wants to go "easily."
However, it was common for lightweight rainwear, which is "ultra" that is normally "upper" to fall below 200g, to compensate for this, it was unavoidable that it would be a reasonable "permissive" in terms of functionality and performance. So what if there is rainwear that is super light enough to be under 100g, has plenty of waterproof and breathable properties, and also provides a comfortable fit? the berghaus Hyper 100 jacket will help you achieve this selfish attitude .

General features
This model is the "world's lightest 3-layer" waterproof and breathable jacket by berghaus, a long-established, comprehensive outdoor brand from the UK. It uses our own Hydroshell Elite Pro material, which combines high waterproofness and breathability, and boasts an incredible light weight of 97g (SizeM). In addition, we have not forgotten the attention to detail, such as the three-dimensional cutting that is easy to move in, the comfortable lining feels, and the minimalistic yet functional cuffs and hood. This is the perfect item for those who like endurance activities such as trail running, as well as speed hiking and fast packing. Gold awards at the 2016 OutDoor Show and ISPO 2017.
Recommended points
- It's just light
- The lining is smooth and comfortable to wear
- High fit and ease of movement reduce stress during action
- Portability that fits in the palm of your hand
- The sturdy seam tape and the sleeves and hood make it very waterproof.
Points that interest me
- The fabric is thin and delicate, so it is unclear whether it is durable (in the sense that it lasts for a long time).
- The zipper is slightly stiff

Detailed review
Comfort and mobility
The fit is strong and it follows your body movements firmly. Even intense movements are less stressful. It's smooth when you put it on and there's no catch on.
fastener
The inside of the front zipper has a flap that ensures waterproofness.
I was concerned about this when I put it on, but the zipper may become slow. If the zipper itself is not balanced with the softness of the shell fabric, opening and closing tends to be poor, and these cases are common not only with this shell. It's fine if you hold the zipper firmly and move it, but it would be a shame if it could have been done quickly without being aware of it.
Unique waterproof material and waterproof
I've used it in heavy rainy weather. The lining is soft to the touch and the seam sealing is also carefully crafted. Even so, I was once again impressed that it couldn't be cut to 100g with such a careful seam. The waterproof and water repellent of the outer material is also good as long as it is not for a very long time.
also has a flap structure that stops water and wind from entering everywhere. When I run, I love this carefully designed construction.
Food
Thanks to cutting technology, it fits firmly on your head. Not only does it handle the varied weather, it also has little slippage even when moving violently, so the hood would be even more comfortable to use.
When you actually wear it, it covers your head without any gaps like this.
Portability
This is a surprise! This size fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.
You can also store the dedicated storage bag in the inner zippered pocket while you are on the move. Personally, I am very grateful that there is no need to worry about losing it.
Summary: What kind of activities do you recommend?
It is so recommended that this is the only option for use in endurance competitions, such as trail running races. It is waterproof and highly functional, and its lightness, which is less than 100g, is no longer of a foul. It also goes perfectly with other activities that require light weight, light weight is a priority, and its advantages.
As for other activities, it is comfortable to wear and extremely easy to use, but because it is lightweight, the thin and flexible fabric gives an impression that it will last for years, and it will leave you with concerns about durability. Rather than using it casually and frequently, it would be better to use it for a long time by conserving it as the most ultra-lightweight gear here. Considering the thinness of the fabric and the fit of the hood and length, the limited personality shows how the strengths can be maximized. If you can match your own activities with your own characteristics and judge the situations that match this season by repeatedly studying case studies, there is no way there is any more useful clothing. It's surprisingly small and doesn't bother you, and it's not too difficult to carry, so I think it's also very suitable to be used as an emergency or spare equipment.
I'm looking forward to seeing how lightness and performance will be shown in the future.
