Best Outdoor Gear for 2014 Fall/Winter Selected by Backpacker Magazine (Backpack Edition)
Backpacker, one of America's most influential outdoor media, has announced the best outdoor gear of the season. In this attempt, over 50 testers will field test twice a year, from clothing to accessories and smartphone apps, and decide on the best of the season. Among them, EDITORS' CHOICE is given only to one item in each category, and it seems to gain high trust worldwide as the most popular item in the season (it may be that there are multiple items, and the way they are rated is slightly different each time). When I was living in America, I always checked it out.
However, as the review methods are only roughly revealed, it seems that the policy is slightly different from the test and review policy on this site, and since the products featured are inevitably mainly in the US market, if you evaluate products available in Europe or Japan, the results should be completely different. For this reason, this is just a reference only, but even taking that into consideration, there is no doubt that it will be a popular award every year.
So, I would like to introduce some of the most popular items featured in magazines in a few more installments.

Backpacker magazine's top picks for fall/winter 2014 backpacks
Editors' Choice: JanSport Klamath 55, 65, 75
Surprisingly, this time Zack from JanSport won the award. In Japan, only daypacks are known for walking around town, but I never imagined they were making such a serious backpack. According to reviews, there is a high reputation for achieving both comfort, high functionality and low price at the same time, but I'm a bit skeptical about whether it's true...but I'm a bit skeptical about it until I try it, but this is a product I'd definitely like to test it next time.
