This year's Editors' Choice winner is the Hanwag Omega GTX, a leather alpine boot that doesn't look particularly special at first glance. The main reason for this win is likely due to its unique mechanism that allows it to adapt to the individual foot shape and fit anyone

This is said to be what makes the boots blister-free. For many years, I thought that hiking boots are best when they fit the shape of your feet, rather than their functionality, and that custom-made boots are the best, but now we've finally reached that point
