Backpacker magazine's Best Outdoor Gear Summary for Spring 2015

Backpacker [US] April 2015 (single issue)

Before I knew it, spring was already around the corner. New spring outdoor gear is coming out in stores, but Backpacker Magazine has already received the annual Gear Guide (Editor's Choice Awards)! So this time, we've picked out some of the items that caught our eye from the awards of "Editor's Choice," one of the most famous awards in the outdoor world. Let's go!

Backpack

A large, award-winning pack with many awards has been fully renewed [Gold Award]:
Gregory Baltoro (for men)/Deva (for women)

Gregory's Bartolo series, which has long been highly rated as a large pack for long trails, has been completely renewed, and has won the Grand Prize (gold) awards. It boasts ultimate comfort and stability, but its functionality has been greatly improved. Despite its large pack, its slim shape makes it a great choice for a variety of purposes, not only for mountain climbing, but also for long trips and traversing!

Excellent fit with excellent usability, full mesh finish:
Osprey Atmos AG (for men) / Aura AG (for women)

(Osprey) Osprey Men's Bag Backpacks and Rucksacks Osprey Atmos Ag 65 Backpack Parallel Import

The new Osprey 2015 release is the fourth generation renewal of the best-selling backpack "Atomos." The newly labelled "AG" refers to the newly designed ventilation back system, "Anti-gravity suspension (AG)," which has been designed to be the new anti-gravity suspension (AG), which has evolved further, and space has been created in almost every part of the body (not only the back, but also the waist and shoulders), providing outstanding cushioning and breathability. As usual, the clever pockets and attachments are still in good condition, and it has excellent storage capacity, and I have a feeling that this will be the new standard for large packs, just like the Gregory!

This looks like it's useful! Recently, the hot and ultra-lightweight hiking shoe industry has finally come out of serious shoes from mountaineering boot manufacturers. is about 20g lighter than the THE NORTH FACE ULTRA FASTPACK MID GTX, which was thought to be the lightest ever The new GORE-TEX SURROUND TECHNOLOGY has a high breathability and a stable grip on the Vibram sole, making it impossible to stop expecting anything! Other camping gear

Lightweight and storage capacity close to down:
Mountain Hardwear HyperLamina Spark

The heat retention power that has been created by the testers who normally love down sleeping bags is made from Mountain Hardware's unique material, Thermal.Q. It was developed with reference to the feather structure of goose down, and is apparently the warmest synthetic fiber material ever made Sleeping bags can get wet for some reason, so it's like "I've been waiting for it" to evolve to this extent.

Japan's world-renowned ultra-light stove finally won the Gold Award:
Snow Peak GigaPower Stove

Giga Power Stove, a hugely popular camping stove released in 1998 by Snow Peak, Japan's proud outdoor gear maker, has finally won the gold! The reason for this award was that, from the time of release until the present, it not only remains small and high output at the top level, but also allows it to be offered at less than half the price of 15 years ago. Continuing to create "better tools" is probably what Japanese manufacturers are special about.

No longer will it be called "a very high-performance water heater":
JetBoil MiniMo

JetBoil, for example, has suddenly exploded in popularity among UL backpackers due to its incredible high thermal efficiency and ease of use. As for me, I can only boil water due to its shape, which is not worth the cost-effectiveness, so I ended up posting it off, but this MiniMo is different! Compared to traditional personal cooking systems, the mouth is designed to be 23mm wider and the height is 45mm lower, making it ideal for cooking. This means that this high-efficiency stove has finally become a "genuinely amazing" cooker, not a tool for boiling water at an incredibly fast pace! The prices are still as sturdy as ever, but I would definitely give it a try this season to see if it's really easy to cook.
