[Offline Event No. 3] We want to ask POLARTEC's people in Japan all the questions you can't ask stores or manufacturers [POLARTEC NIGHT!!]

It's been about two months since the second event at the end of May, and we apologize for the long wait. We are pleased to announce that the third offline talk event will be held!

Outdoor Gearzine's 3rd offline event "Our Favorite Hikes Vol.03" will be held

The theme this time is about POLARTEC, a high-performance fabric and material manufacturer that anyone who enjoys the outdoors has likely used at least once. From useful information about their diverse lineup to the latest news that you can only find here, we'll be asking the people in Japan who are most knowledgeable about the company about their products about the brand directly about all your everyday questions, making this a must-see for mountain gear enthusiasts!

Our guest today is Manabu Fujita from SCT Japan, Polartec's distributor in Japan

Theme: I want to ask people in Japan about POLARTEC, an essential mountain clothing brand, about all the things I can't ask stores or manufacturers

Speaking of POLARTEC, since inventing "FLEECE" in 1981, a lightweight winter garment that has now become so well-known that almost everyone knows about it, the company has continued to create new materials with added functionality to meet modern needs, such as insulation (heat retention), sweat absorption, quick drying, breathability, wind resistance, waterproofing, antibacterial and deodorizing properties, and reduced environmental impact. It goes without saying that Polartec is a world-class materials manufacturer whose products are now used in a wide range of fabrics, from base layers to outer layers and insulation (with over 550 types). Reference: SCT Japan website

Polartec has always been behind the latest hot new products, including the active insulation "Polartec® Alpha®," the new environmentally friendly fleece "Polartec® Power Air™," and, most recently, the new knit "Polartec® Power Dry® Mesh" that offers outstanding breathability. It is no exaggeration to say that these new materials are leading the next trends in outdoor activities

We think we know about Polartec, but we actually don't know much about it

What makes Polartec different from other materials? How are the many Polartec products different? How does it compare to that other product? Between you and me, what's the best fabric? What kind of clothing is best for this situation? What's the latest development with Polartec? We'd love to hear about things that are actually good to know in order to choose gear more correctly and wisely than you would now, things that stores and manufacturers would never tell you

As usual, the first half will be a talk show with Fujita, followed by a relaxed and friendly chat in the second half until the end

Furthermore, we are also planning to do a trial online live stream this time (we're just trying to copy what we see, so it may not work out well), so we will prepare it so that those who unfortunately cannot attend due to being far away can also participate without difficulty. We will provide more information on this as soon as it is ready, so please wait for further updates!

"Our Favorite Hikes" welcomes people from a variety of professions and positions involved in the outdoors in Japan, and aims to be an exciting place where you can meet fellow mountain and gear lovers and have deep interactions. No prior knowledge, let alone any skill or experience, is necessary to participate. Anyone of any age or gender is welcome, and solo hikers are also welcome. Anyone who has even a slight love for the mountains or the outdoors can have fun, so please feel free to join us! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!
