A journey to Mosbray Falls, where you reach that track in Stand by Me: Can you die without walking? Travel to American National Parks (30) Mt. Shasta's Jewels
The American Natural Parks Series, brought to you by a tour guide living in California, will return to the sacred mountain Mount Shasta for the first time in a while and will be introducing some beautiful spots like Shasta's "jewels."
This time we'd like to introduce you to Mosbray Falls.
A mist shower from the forest flows like thread. This is a place where you can naturally settle in front of the quiet, fantastic waterfall.
Water drips down from a green cliff covered in ferns and moss like a curtain of water. As it is known as the "Shasta, the capital of water," it is a place where you can feel the abundant water and the blessings of nature.
It's no surprise that it's said to be one of California's most beautiful waterfalls.
It is located in an area called Dunsmuir, about a 10-minute drive from the town centre, and you will need to park your car along Dunsmuir Ave and walk along the tracks for about 30 minutes.
The route reminds me of Stand by Me, and although it hurts as I walk through the rough rocks, it has a very atmosphere. The Shasta area is also famous as a filming location for Stand by Me movies.
In fact, freight trains pass through the Dan's Muir tracks here, so be careful. If the timing overlaps, freight trains will pass directly beside you, so train lovers will be irresistible, but be careful about safety. (This is a private property, so please take responsibility for it.)
The Sacramento River, where Shasta's melting snow flows next to the path you walk through, also runs through, and in the summer, some people rest and swim along the river.
Then you can see the iron bridge just after walking.
When I see this railway bridge. Moss Bree False is right there.
The end of the journey along the tracks here, and as you walk right before this bridge, you will see...
Shower mist oasis.
The view and atmosphere vary depending on the weather, time of day, and season, but even when you visit it, it is a very fantastic place that makes you feel like there are fairies.
It just happened to be free and when it was just us, it was a very quiet and mysterious time. It's an easy place to go, and this is a rare place.
This is Shasta's gem spot where you can actually go and feel the energy and atmosphere of this place with your whole body.
Notes regarding the spread of COVID-19
As of May 2022, various countries are likely to experience a variety of situations, including entry restrictions due to the strengthening of quarantine systems, restrictions on admission to national parks, and restrictions on travel within the country. These conditions may change without notice, so when traveling, be sure to obtain local information such as embassies and consulates of each country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' overseas safety website (infectious disease risk information) and national park websites, and check the information about the transfer location, the countries where you plan to travel, and the area around the destinations you plan to visit before making any effort to plan and take reasonable steps.
