Mt. Shasta's water is special - Medicine Lake - [Can you die without walking?] Journey to American National Parks (32) Mt. Shasta's Jewels

It's obvious that Shasta's water really feels special.

For example, if you stay in the Shasta area, you will notice that your skin will be moist, smoother than usual, and your hair will look glossy and smoother. In a normal life, you will be able to immediately see the difference every time the shower water is "Shasta water."

And the same goes for swimming in the lake. Especially when I first visited Medicine Lake, which I will introduce today, after swimming in the lake, my body was soothing and obvious changes in my skin and hair, which is difficult to explain in words, but I remember being exposed to the pure beauty of nature and purifying my body and mind. It was very shocking.

I don't know why it's full of minerals, or why the water itself has been infiltrating for many years, and it's really pure, but I feel that Shasta's water is really special. It's very sacred.

As the name suggests, Medicine Lake has long been a place to heal the minds and bodies of indigenous peoples.

While living in America, I have also gone to many different places, hiking up mountains and seeing various natural and lakes, but Medicine Lake is a sacred place that really touches me, and the term sacred place really fits the senses.

At an altitude of 2400m

Just quietly

Always there

Just as it is

Standing quietly

This lake is an ancient caldera lake formed by a volcanic eruption.

It has been considered by indigenous peoples as a sacred lake that brings healing.

When you go to Medicine Lake, take your time to relax and spend some time in nature.

This is the most remote spot in Shasta, and is located over an hour from Shasta city and about an hour from MacLeod.

The period of time you can go is short, and the snow melts and you can only visit for a limited period from around July to October when the roads open.

There are picnic tables and camping sites nearby.

There are also trails that allow you to circumnavigate the lake. Approximately 13 kg (approximately 8 mile).

It's always empty and very quiet. There is also a camping site, so if you go camping, I think the views, including the night and morning, are great.
