[OGZ's Yamato Town Exploration Story Vol.11] Tokyo Harajuku Edition, NEW Open!! Hoglovs Harajuku Store
OGZ's Yamato Machi series has been focusing on the suburbs for a while now, but finally!? We're heading into the city center

The Harajuku area in Tokyo can be said to be right in the center of fashion

From Harajuku Station, go through Takeshita Street

Once you have passed through Takeshita Street, turn left

We crossed the crosswalk and continued on. This time we were joined by Yosuke,
Follow the road and you will see the Haglofs Harajuku store, our destination for this visit, on the right corner of the intersection!
Yes, Haglöfs has returned to this neighborhood as its flagship store!
The club opened a while ago in September 2024, so we will be bringing you two programs: one showing the club's opening and the other showing a recent return visit with this season's forwards all gathered together
*Therefore, some photos may show items that are no longer on sale, but please understand

As you enter the store, you will see the Haglofs Synchronized Performance Layering System series, which will show off its full potential when worn as a layered set. I personally like the black and red color scheme, so it really catches my eye.

Apart from that, the emphasis on yellow for AW 2024 is quite noticeable

Personally, I didn't have much of an idea for it, but there is also a lineup of shoes

At a glance, you can see the high quality

Haglofs heritage models are also on display, which may look familiar to readers who have seen the OGZ offline event - Haglofs edition

At the same time, the past archives are typical of Haglofs, who respects history. Even the table that is casually placed there is very elaborate

Jackets and shells are displayed in the center of the store

Across the aisle on the left side there are a lot of T-shirts

There is also a message from Haglofs inside the store

Haglofs is known for its impressive selection of backpacks!

The person in charge of the Haglofs Harajuku store is the store manager, Mr. Kasai, who was also helpful at the offline event mentioned earlier, and we will ask him later to tell us about the products he is promoting this season
Now we will switch to the latest Harajuku store design

It's autumn now... but it doesn't feel that special (lol)
Still, I visited again when the leaves were starting to change color

The area right in front of the entrance has also been redesigned from the black and red of September to a chic autumn/winter look

The section that was mainly made up of T-shirts suddenly feels more wintery with the addition of down coats

Beneath it are fleeces and the vivid red and orange colours of Haglofs are irresistible

The core is shells and insulation for skiing

The impressive backpacks are still available

As this is Haglofs' flagship store, of course those are the main items, but if you look around the store you'll find that there's more than that. There are also products from MOUNTAIN GOURMET LAB, which are bringing a new wind to the freeze-dried foods we eat in the mountains

The store also carries a lineup of maintenance products such as Grangers. Manager Kasai says that while you can find clothing and small gear in this area, it's hard to find everything you need for mountain climbing. That's why it's important to have everything you need in one place so you can head out to the mountains right away. Maybe we'll see more and more of that in the future!?

It's rare to see the real thing! We also have pre-made tents available!

there's also D_b_ ™, which is familiar to anyone who's been to other Upland stores

They probably have almost the full lineup here too, which is impressive

Now, finally, we have Mr. Kasai, the manager of Haglofs Harajuku store, who will be introducing us to some of his recommended items for this season's Fall/Winter collection. Each item is a must-see!
*The store manager will change from spring 2025

First up is the Mimic Alert Hood! This is the successor to the classic Barrier series, and it's a well-balanced insulation model that can be used as either an outer layer or a mid-layer.

The Mimic series comes in three variations, from the hooded version above to a vest and jacket

This is Kasai-san's highly recommended Spitz GTX PRO Jacket! I won't say it out loud, but this is the last model of the conventional water-repellent jacket, and the next model will be made to the new standard, so if you want one, this is your last chance!

The backpack lineup features three vibrant orange models: the Latnja 18, Sensate Pro 32, and LIM Touring Pro 40 (from right to left). While each model is designed for skiing and backcountry skiing, they're also versatile enough to be used in the mountains. Kasai says the 40L model offers the best balance for both snow and mountain use, and that's the model he frequently uses.

The crampon pocket at the bottom of the pack, which is included on the two models other than the 18, looks very easy to use and is a great idea. It's basically a crampon pocket, as the name suggests, but depending on how you look at it, it's a versatile container. Since it's separate, it's also good for storing things you want to access quickly

Furthermore, although the roaring point is independent, it is fastened with a buckle, so if you remove it and push it to the side, it can be used as a normal single-chamber bag, which is a well-thought-out feature

Lastly, we have the Puffy Mimic Hood, which is a bit of a departure from the norm. Well, what's so different about it? It looks like a regular fluffy down jacket, but it's actually a synthetic cotton model, and yet it feels so fluffy. It's truly puffy. Isn't this puffy feel irresistible?! Kasai-san praises it highly, saying, "Isn't it interesting that it's not down?"
What's more, it's as warm as down and, because it's made of synthetic fiber, it's also resistant to getting wet

What do you think of Haglofs' new star? Another outdoor mecca has been born in Harajuku. I often visit outdoor shops in this area, and I'm so happy to see so many new stores I want to visit again (lol). With so many stores in the area, I hope they will continue to compete with each other and become more exciting. I hope this will be a place I visit often in the future
