Montbell's official website has released information on new and renewed products for Spring/Summer 2026. There were many items that caught my eye, but while prices of outdoor gear are rising one after another due to rising prices, Montbell has taken action to maintain or even lower the prices of some products, making it an attractive development for users. Montbell products continue to offer low-priced gear that seems to go against the times. I went to an exhibition to see what products Montbell will be releasing for Spring/Summer 2026 in person
I would like to quickly share some details about the exhibition

The lightweight all-weather "Trent Flyer Jacket" has been renewed for improved comfort
Montbell's lightweight all-weather jacket, the Torrent Flyer Jacket , is getting an update. Made entirely of Super Dry Tech, Montbell's proprietary waterproof and breathable material, it boasts a breathability of 50,000g/m² for 24 hours (JIS L-1099B-1 method, reference value) and a water column resistance of over 20,000mm, it's fully waterproof and boasts excellent stretch for smooth movement. While slightly heavier than the previous model, the updated jacket is still incredibly lightweight at an average weight of 233g. It also boasts a host of other powerful features, including a zippered hood adjustment cord for easier adjustment.
The zippered hood adjustment allows for easy adjustment
"Super Dry Tech Stretch Rain Pants," rain pants made with Super Dry Tech, have been added to the lineup
Super Dry Tech Stretch Rain Pants meet this need .
Although they are lightweight with an average weight of 175g, they do not sacrifice ease of use with features such as bottom zippers and front zippers, making them practical rain pants that are extremely easy to move in and packed with functionality
Introducing the "Multi Trousers Light Convertible," a pair of waterproof pants that can also be converted into shorts
These convertible pants can be used as long pants or harp pants, and are waterproof and breathable, making them highly environmentally friendly
The Multi Trousers Light Convertible can be worn as both shorts and long pants. These versatile pants can be transformed depending on the temperature, weather, and environment, and are made with Super Dry Tech for superior protection. The Super Dry Tech material is not only waterproof and breathable, but also stretchy, so they won't restrict movement even when worn as long pants. The 40-denier fabric is also extremely durable.
The Multi Trousers Light Convertible will come in handy in situations where you need to be able to adapt to a variety of environments with just one pair of pants, such as long-distance hikes or long-term mountain climbing
It seems like it exists, but it doesn't!? A V-neck wind shell called the Wind Blast V-neck Jacket
While many brands have windshell jackets in their lineup, there were probably no "V-neck (collarless)" windshell jackets on the market
the Windblast V-neck jacket has a V-neck and no hood. It's a unique idea to have a V-neck and no collar, even though its main function is wind protection. If you plan to use it in conjunction with rainwear, one of the three sacred treasures of mountain climbing or hiking, the hoodless design can actually be an advantage, making it an interesting layer depending on how you use it.
The hoodless design makes it easy to wear as everyday wear
The ultimate UV protection. The "WIC.UVTect" series boasts UPF 50+. Clothing that protects your skin from strong UV rays
The WIC.UV Tect series is made of soft and supple fabric
The WIC.UV Tect series made with the new material Wickron UV Tect , offers UPF 50+ protection, making it ideal for any occasion where you want to protect yourself from UV rays. UPF is an index that measures the degree of protection from UV rays compared to bare skin, and UPF 50+ indicates protection that delays sunburn by more than 50 times compared to bare skin. The WIC.UV Tect series is available in a wide range of styles, including short sleeves, long sleeves, and hoodies.
The time may be upon us when we walk in the mountains carrying a "fan blower" to beat the heat
In today's world, where sweating can be unavoidable when hiking low mountains, carrying a wind hose around with you can be a lifesaver. The Fanbrough series , has evolved, adding a thinner vest to the lineup. The Fanbrough Light Vest weighs an average of 147g (excluding battery and fan) and features mesh underarms, making it ideal for mountain climbing.
Battery life of up to 30 hours
Although I was curious to try it, I hesitated because I felt that once I tried it, I would never be able to go back to not having fan blows, but perhaps the time has finally come to introduce it
The Stellaridge Tent Trail, the brand's flagship mountain tent, now has a new model with a long entrance!
Montbell's flagship tent, the Stellaridge, is a must-have. A new model with an entrance on the long side will be added to the lineup
The debate over whether the entrance is better on the short side or the long side has been going on for a long time, and the answer is different for each user, so it is a question with no clear answer. The previous Stellaridge, which had an entrance on the short side, was not an option for those who prefer long sides, even if they wanted to use it.However, the Stellaridge Tent Trail is a tent that is very attractive to those who prefer long sides.
The Stellaridge Trail Tent has a wide opening, allowing you to make effective use of the space inside the tent. The inverted T-shaped, straight zipper not only reduces trouble, but also allows you to choose to open it fully or halfway depending on the situation, and both sides have mesh for easy use.
When setting up a tent in a small space, it is better to have the entrance on the short side, so while the traditional Stellaridge will continue, the addition of Stellaridge Trail will allow the Stellaridge series to grow into one that can meet a wider range of needs
The classic sleeping bag "Seamless Down Hugger 800" has been repriced to be more affordable
The Seamless Down Hugger 800 series is a classic sleeping bag, just like the Steridge . While we offer a wide range of models to choose from, tailored to the temperature and environment, we've managed to lower the price of existing models by revising the specifications. The Seamless Down Hugger 800 EXP., , is priced at 65,000 yen (tax included). While the price may not seem cheap, when you compare it with other sleeping bags of the same level on the market, the Seamless Down Hugger 800 series is an incredible value. This sleeping bag is recommended for everyone, from beginners looking to start mountain climbing, to intermediate climbers looking to take on snowy mountains, to experts looking to venture into the alpine in the harsh winter.
R-value 4.9. Introducing the UL Thermo Air Pad, a winter-ready sleeping mat. Available in four sizes to meet a variety of needs
Montbell has a wide lineup of sleeping mats, but the newly released UL Thermo Air Pad has an R-value of 4.9, making it suitable for winter use. This air mattress is inflated and contains two thermofilm layers inside, which utilize radiant heat and a TPU film barrier to prevent convection and insulate against cold air from the ground. The dotted structure, rather than a tubular one, reduces the fluffy feel typical of air mattresses, making for a comfortable sleep.
The dotted surface of the mattress reduces the fluffy feeling that is characteristic of air mattresses, providing a comfortable sleeping experience
Sleeping mats with high R values often do not come in short sizes, but the UL Thermo Air Pad comes in four sizes: 90cm, 120cm, 150cm, and 180cm, so you can choose the size that best suits your needs.
UL Thermo Air Pads stored. Size 120
A nostalgic form? The simple old-school backpack "Trekking Pack" series
This trekking pack series has been redesigned with a rain cover and no unnecessary back pockets, giving it a simple, old-fashioned, nostalgic look .
There are eight sizes available, ranging from 30L to 100L. While most backpack brands offer packs up to 80L, the 100L size is quite rare. The Trekking Pack 100 comes with a rain cover, which allows for further expansion. With this much capacity, it would be perfect for long-term trekking without resupply, parent-child mountaineering trips where you carry all of your child's equipment, or even long-term snow trips with backcountry gear inside
Although the form evokes nostalgia, the functions it comes with are the latest, with a well-thought-out design for ease of carrying and padding to reduce shoulder strain
Other products I like
Weighing just 167g! The UL Alpine Helmet is recommended for lightweight hikers
The UL Alpine helmet is made of expanded polypropylene (EPP), which has excellent impact absorption and recovery properties, and the crown is reinforced with polycarbonate. It is an ultra-lightweight helmet weighing just 167g (S/M). It is one of the lightest helmets in its class for mountaineering and climbing, yet meets international safety standards.
The continuously adjustable adjuster comes with a clip for attaching a headlamp, making it lightweight yet fully equipped with all the necessary functions. And what's surprising is the price. Compared to helmets with the same specifications from competing brands, the price is 1/2 to 2/3, making it an affordable upgrade for hikers looking to reduce weight
"Trail Hiker" lightweight shoes made with the unique Dry Tech material
While most waterproof hiking boots and hiking shoes use GORE-TEX, a new shoe has been released that uses a unique material called DryTec. By using the manufacturer's own waterproof and breathable material, it is possible to keep it reasonably priced
The outsole uses Trail Gripper, which is known for its grip, making this a perfect pair of shoes for low mountain hiking and light trekking
The Trailwalker with Gaiter is a long-awaited low-cut shoe with gaiters for hikers who prefer low-cut shoes
Gaiters are worn to prevent pebbles from getting inside the shoe. Low-cut shoes offer excellent mobility, but they are particularly susceptible to foreign objects, making gaiters a necessity for hikers who wear shorts. Many winter hiking boots come with built-in gaiters, but Montbell will also be releasing low-cut shoes with integrated gaiters starting in the Fall/Winter 2025 season
If I was going to install it anyway, it would be better to have it attached from the start, as it would eliminate the hassle of putting it on and taking it off, which would reduce stress
Extremely compact with four sections! Ultra-lightweight carbon trekking poles "Carbon Folding Poles"
It does not have a length adjustment mechanism, but it is lightweight
Carbon Folding Poles full-carbon trekking poles that are designed for portability and lightness. While they cannot be adjusted in length, they are lightweight because they do not have the metal fittings necessary for length adjustment. They are available in four sizes: 100cm, 105cm, 113cm, and 120cm. The four-section design allows them to fold up very compactly; the shortest 100cm length only stores at 29cm (and the longest 120cm is only 34cm), making them suitable for storing inside a daypack. The basket has been made as small as possible, and its semicircular shape prevents it from interfering with storage when folded.
Although the length cannot be adjusted, the longer grip allows for more variety in how you hold it, making it suitable for different situations such as climbing and descending
Folds compactly enough to fit in a daypack
A folding umbrella with a heat-shielding silver coating that can be used in both sunny and rainy weather, providing comfortable protection from UV rays
These days, using parasols has become a popular way to protect against UV rays, and each brand has a lineup of parasols with a coating that reflects sunlight, with the number of types increasing every year. Montbell will also be releasing a lightweight folding umbrella with a silver coating that provides excellent heat protection
It comes in two sizes, with a 55cm and 50cm rib length, and the 55cm has a 98cm diameter when unfolded, while the 50cm has a 88cm diameter, making it suitable for both sunny and rainy days. The compact Travel Sunblock Umbrella weighs just 135g even at 55cm, making it easy to slip into a backpack.
JETBOIL releases a new product focused on ease of cooking and a windshield for more complete weather resistance
Jetboil, known for its high efficiency and quick cooking using minimal fuel, is introducing a new product focused on ease of cooking. The Trail Cook 1.2L features a wide-mouth, shallow cooker for easy cooking. The interior is ceramic-coated to prevent food from burning, and the regulator mechanism accommodates everything from slow simmers to rapid boils. The turn-and-click system for heat control and ignition makes it easy to see the flame strength, making it easy to use. The automatic ignition system, which tends to malfunction at high altitudes, has been designed with a thicker wick for increased safety (though a lighter is essential due to its instability).
The Trail Cook 1.2L in that it features a freestanding trivet, a major difference from previous models . Although it is freestanding, the cooker fits snugly into the trivet, making it easy to place in the center of the stove. The cartridge, stove body, and canister can all fit inside the cooker, making it highly portable.
The trivet fits snugly into the groove at the bottom of the cooker, making it easy to place the cooker in the center of the stove
the Trail Cook 1.2L is a stove with many benefits for those who want to enjoy luxurious mountain meals or cook for two
The Jetboil's flux ring traps heat from the stove and secures the cooktop to the stove, improving combustion efficiency and providing excellent weather resistance. To further enhance this weather resistance, a dedicated windscreen is available. The windscreen, compatible with the Flash and Zip series, surrounds the combustion area with a certain gap, providing protection from lateral winds and ensuring stable performance even in harsh environments. The windscreen can be rolled up and stored inside the cooktop for compact portability.
A great option for Jetboil users looking for even more weather resistance
