Four recommended mount accessories that make it even more convenient to use the Insta360 Ace Pro action camera with excellent practicality

Since trying it out this winter, Insta360's full-fledged action camera, the Insta360's Insta360's high-quality image quality, and its ease of use, both the hardware and software, as it seems to solve the frustration that had been found with previous action cameras. The Insta360's authentic action camera, the Insta360 Ace Pro . It is becoming a travel companion, as it captures more images than you would expect, not only for travel, but also for mountaineering, trail running, river climbing, and skiing.

However, of course, this camera alone won't allow you to take photos anytime you like. Accessories such as mounts and selfie sticks are essential tools for storing ideal images in each situation and for using them without any stress.

This time, I was able to try out some useful accessories that are "usable" to help you use the Insta360 Ace Pro 120%, so I'll be looking at reviews of each of the satisfaction levels and recommended usage scenarios.

Incidentally, the accessories I tried this time not only available the Insta360 Ace Pro Insta360 X3 Now let's introduce it to you.

Genuine accessories review that makes the Insta360 Ace Pro even easier to use

Quick release mount (recommended level ★★★★☆)

Favorite points

  • Freely switch between 1/4 inch screw mount and 2 prong mount
  • Easy to put on and take off and secure lock
  • The mount can be folded, making it easier to store than the included mount

Recommended for scenes like this

  • It's convenient in any situation, so if you're using the Insta360 Ace Pro, you should definitely prepare it.

the Insta360 Ace Pro is only a standard "2-prong mount point" and does not come with the "1/4-inch screw mount" used for selfie sticks and camera tripods. Also, the included mount is protruding large, so you cannot place it on the table as it is attached, and it is not easy to store (although it's fine to remove it every time).

This "quick release mount" is useful. A mounting device that supports both 1/4 inch screw and 2 prong patterns, and can be easily attached to the bottom with a magnet, allowing for secure locking to prevent it from coming off. You can remove it by unlocking it and pressing the buttons on both sides.

This allows it to be installed without using additional parts without the use of additional parts, such as two-prong mounts that are often used when attaching to helmets or bicycle handles (left of the bottom photo), as well as 1/4-inch screws that are common for some selfie sticks and camera tripods. When not in use, the points are folded and neat, so you can leave them on and place them on the table, making them easy to store. It can be carried around without any stress compared to standard mounts.

If only the included mount is available, you will need to install a separate "2-prong mount to 1/4-inch screw mount" and a conversion adapter in order to attach the camera to the 1/4-inch screw gear.

When using various mounts for a variety of activities like I do, the more detailed parts the more complicated it becomes, and the more confusing it becomes, and every time I prepare, I choose the parts I need, so the fewer parts, the better. This will reduce the hassle of such hassle and make your camera-related items more neat and clean.

So this is an essential part that is almost no choice for me. To be honest, I'm sure you'll think, "Please install this as standard," but on the other hand, for those who want to use it smoothly, it's sure to make it more convenient for all activities and situations. Incidentally, it can also be installed using the included adapter even with 1/4 inch screw (female) mount devices such as the Insta360 X3

Multifunctional selfie stick (recommended level ★★★☆☆)

Favorite points

  •  Multifunctionality that can also be used as a selfie stick, magic arm, or tripod
  • With the magic arm, it is easy to shoot from a low angle
  • Tri-fold type for compact storage
  • You can also secure the camera in Mantis mode to the wall that can be hooked.

Recommended for scenes like this

  • Travel and outdoor activities where you want to have less luggage
  • When you want to take a selfie from a low angle or elaborate angle of view

As the name suggests, the multifunctional selfie stick is a convenient tripod-equipped selfie stick that allows you to take multiple shots depending on how you use it. Unlike the typical selfie stick that just stretches straight, it has joints and a free tripod head, and by adjusting them, you can extend it to various angles.

When folded, it is compact, just a little longer than the palm of your hand, making it easy to carry. There are two joints and the tip is a fully rotating ball joint mount, so you can adjust it to a wide variety of distances and angles.

When the end is opened, it becomes a tripod, allowing you to take selfies from a distance. Now you don't have to go out of your way to take the tripod. In my own experience, tripods are a bit bulky when I bring them with me, but I end up not using them, and on the other hand, I regret that it would have been a limited time when I don't take them with me. By the way, the legs of the tripod are a little short and if you extend the bar to the maximum, it will feel somewhat unreliable in unstable or windy places, so you should not overconfident.

When you think about taking photos in the mountains, if you want to take a picture of your feet near the surface, bend it in a U-shaped shape to make it possible to take a very realistic low-angle shot (right of the photo below). You can also use the Mantis mode, which allows you to secure it horizontally if there is a clues that can be hooked to the side wall and secured. There may not be many scenes that can be used in the field, but you will often get hooked on it in the city or on travel.

In that you can point your camera at the right angle in any situation, this selfie stick is quite convenient compared to a typical selfie stick, not only for outdoor activities such as hiking, but also for everyday use such as traveling. However, in my case I already had a regular selfie stick, so I wasn't able to take any pictures without it, so I recommend it with 3 ★. However, if you don't have a selfie stick yet, this is definitely the first one. Furthermore, when using a 360-degree camera such as the Insta360 X3, you will likely be able to see the selfie stick more easily, so you need to be careful about this.

Magnetic selfie stick holster (recommended level ★★★★★)

Favorite points

  • Can be secured while holding the selfie stick on the backpack
  • You can put on and take off the camera with one hand incredibly quickly

Recommended for scenes like this

  • Hiking, running
  • Skiing

This selfie stick holster was an item that I was convinced that it was definitely useful even before I used it the moment it was released. This is because I have been using this type of plate-type camera holder for many years with SLRs, Gopro, Insta360 X3, and have really realized how convenient it is. Furthermore, this holster has a decisive evolution that sets it apart from just a follow-up to such predecessors, and this has given this item the best recommendation.

One of the evolutions is that it is easier to put on and take off than any other mount I've used up to now. Seeing was just a surprise, so I took a video of myself putting on and taking off.

First, attach an adapter to the tip of the selfie stick to connect it to this holster. The holster's adapter is securely secured by magnets and pins, so if it's ground activity, it's unlikely to be able to take it even if it's hard to move. To remove it, just twist the selfie stick itself a little. The magnet is weak to twisting movements and can be removed without any significant force. This simplicity and smoothness is incredible.

The other thing, of course, can be set in a holster while the selfie stick is attached. Until now, it was usually necessary to replace the holster adapter with a selfie stick, but in this case, you can usually keep it fixed to your body (you can just walk and take a photo of the front), and in this situation, you can quickly remove it and take a free angle with the selfie stick in your hand, allowing you to take a seamless and quick shot while you are taking a selfie stick. It's too convenient to be modest.

The only drawback is that if the shoulder strap is too thick, the length of the screws attached to the plate will exceed the limit and cannot be installed. It's probably fine if it's a lightweight backpack or a day-time capacity, but these days backpacks have pockets and various parts, making them thicker, so it's a shame that some items may not be able to be installed. Competing products also offer longer screw versions, so I hope they will handle this.

GPS Action Remote Control (Recommended Level ★★★★★)

Favorite points

  • You can control shooting and stop the camera at hand, check the shooting time, remaining power, and shooting time, switch main modes, and turn the power on/off
  • Acquire more accurate GPS information
  • Waterproof up to 5m

Recommended for scenes like this

  • All activities that require you to set your camera in a remote location, such as mountain climbing, stream climbing, skiing, and motorcycles.

The Insta360 Ace Pro comes with remote control functions such as voice and gesture control, but in terms of reliability, there is still nothing beat button operations. This "GPS Action Remote" is literally a remote controller connected via Bluetooth and also comes with a detailed GPS function.

Once paired, you can not only shoot and stop operations, but also turn on and off, and change modes (photos, videos, pure videos, timeshift videos, loop videos). It comes with a special strap (long and short), so if you secure it to a part that is easy to use, such as your arm, you can do almost all the necessary operations on your hands.

In addition to shooting mode, you can check the shooting time and remaining power for each device in the remote control display area. In the mountains, it is difficult to capture light and sound, making it difficult to check whether recording is actually taking place, but if you look at this, you can clearly see whether the camera attached to a helmet is recording, and above all, it is a great thing to say that you can operate a 360-degree camera attached to a selfie stick extended backwards by skis, without shrinking it to your hands every time. You can also see the remaining battery level and the time you can take photos, so you don't miss the timing to replace the battery, and there's nothing more reassuring about a reliable shooting.

In the photo above, I attach it to my arm, but personally I have a smartwatch on my left arm, so it's a bit annoying. For this reason, I end up storing it in my chest pocket (although it makes GPS a bit difficult to receive), and I clung it on my backpack strap. It's convenient, like someone like me who uses it quite hard as an action camera, but the downside is probably the price. There's no doubt that you can get the convenience that's worth the price.

summary

I've been using a variety of action cameras for a long time, but I think it's just how stressful you can take photos just as you want, whether it's just keeping the camera alive or killing it. Although I am not forced to mention this, basic parts that support normal use, such as spare batteries, lens protectors, and high-speed transfer cables are of course important. Furthermore, with accessories that provide more advanced convenience, you will be able to do a variety of things comfortably, and the enjoyment of filming videos with that camera will expand even more. Please use this article as a reference to enrich your outdoor action camera life.
