Patagonia's Endless Run Shorts & Multi Trails Shorts Review: With running-oriented "competitive shorts" and multi-use "exhilarating shorts", you won't have blind spots from the city to the trail this summer

It took quite a bit of courage for someone like me to go to the mountains, but when I tried it, I found it a good idea to wear shorts and mountains.

As I wrote in my previous review, I used to be a firm guardian of "long pants in the mountains" because I was afraid of skin exposure, but due to the unusual heat and changes in preferences such as fast hiking and trail running, I have been taking mountain hiking in running shorts for a few years now, mainly during day trips and trail running. It's true that protection will decrease, but once you get used to it, you can't stop the freedom and exhilaration you get in exchange for.

My favorite shorts so far have been Patagonia's Strider Pro Shorts , but of course, no matter how much I like it, I don't think that one piece of clothing will cover everything in every scene. Even in the narrow category of running shorts, there are naturally various optimal solutions available depending on the season and situation.

So this time, I was able to try out the " Endless Run Shorts," a model that specializes in a more specialized genre, and the "Multi Trails Shorts, a highly versatile model that suits a wide range of situations, trail running shorts, which I've been interested in for a while now, and I'll be bringing you some reviews of how I've used it to my best in trail running, hiking, and everyday life.

Endless Run Shorts 6 inch: Detailed Review

It's just like sports tights. The integrated structure, which combines fit and quick-drying with three types of fabric, reduces rubbing and supports high-strength movements

Endless Run Shorts, my honest impression was, "What is this?" I'm sure many people will be confused by the reaction just like me if they look at the photo above. Looking at some places, it's like short tights or spats. However, looking from the front, some parts look like shorts. Although we know that they are full-scale running shorts, these pants are unknown in the sense that they can't imagine how comfortable they are to wear. Isn't it okay?

And finally, I saw that I had to go through my feet and finally said, "I see." The fit when worn is basically "tights." If you look closely, you will see that a highly elastic knit fabric like tights is mapped from the hem of the pants to the butt on the back, which fits perfectly along the body.

But what's interesting is that in reality it's much more comfortable than what you would expect from a pair of stuff. The secret lies in the two-layer structure on the front panel.

This front panel, the outer fabric that can be seen from the outside, is a Pertex Quantum Air nylon fabric that is windproof, water repellent, durable, and breathable, and reduces wind and wear from outside, making it easier to expel stuffiness inside. The back of the skin is made of thin liner-like fabric with high elasticity and breathability (photo below), which gives it a comfortable feel and fit, as well as a reduced feeling of stuffiness. In other words, it is basically a tight-like fit, and at the same time, it has an exquisite balance between protection, feel, comfort, and looks, all of which are in perfect balance.

The tights are made from a lightweight, highly elastic nylon material (post-consumer material made from recycled fishing nets) and a generous blend of 26% polyurethane. The highly elastic stretch knit fits perfectly with the body lines, but you won't feel any tight tightness or stress like compression tights. It also dries quickly, so even when I sweated, it didn't cling to my skin.

The soft band at the waist is soft, stretchy and quick-drying, providing a comfortable fit even for long running without any strain or looseness. It can also be adjusted using the outer drawcord.

The wonderfulness of stress-free patterns even in large actions

The carefully calculated fabric structure and cutting make the lower body move extremely smoothly while feeling a comfortable breeze, while still feeling the support of the core like when wearing spats, and the movements give you a comfortable fit, high performance, and a sense of relief on the body. It also reduces muscle shaking, which can also reduce fatigue.

Pockets for gels and small items that are of sufficient quality and quantity for lace

To its concept, designed for athletes running the mountains, the Endless Run Shorts don't have plenty of storage space to get in the way of running. However, even after being stripped off, the pockets were of sufficient quality and quantity, and were comfortable to support long distances and long courses.

There are one deep, elastic pocket on each side. It is a large, deep size that can hold not only large and small gels, but also smartphones and soft flasks, making it a very versatile storage (photo below). What's more, the stretchy contents were firmly fixed, and when gel was placed, I didn't feel much of a shaking sensation when I was running. However, in the case of smartphones and flasks, they fit in so long as they can fit, but in reality they felt like they were pulled a little because of the weight.

The bag has one stretch mesh pocket with a sewn-in middle of the mouth. Not only gels, but also card holders and keys can be stored (photo below). I couldn't use a smartphone.

The entire product has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, but the water repellency is still only possible.

It is also well-equipped with water-repellent (DWR), which is necessary for outdoor bottoms, repels small amounts of water splashes and dirt. (Photo below).

However, in terms of its strength and durability, this is not as good as I expected, and this can be said for the entire recent water-repellent treatment, but personally I would like to hope for another technological advancement. However, since it is a fabric that is quick-drying, it dries quickly even if it penetrated, and there was no concern about the wetness or stuffiness of the pants.

Multi Trails Shorts 6 inch: Detailed Review

The highly fitted liner and light and breathable outer material make it easy to move and refreshing to wear.

Multi Trails Shorts are simple running shorts with a rather orthodox look compared to the first half's endless run shorts As someone who has experienced the basic comfort of wearing Patagonia shorts with Strider Pro Shorts for a while Moreover, the fabric composition Strider Pro, so this is especially true.

The fabric is a 10% polyurethane blend of lightweight, breathable, quick-drying recycled polyester material (a certified ocean cycle material supplied by a coastal community that is at risk of plastic pollution). It is very light and supple, and has ample stretchability in four directions, so even when you sweat, it doesn't cling to your skin, and you won't feel any stress that hinders your movements.

Built-in boxer shorts-shaped liner with excellent moisture absorption and quick drying properties

The inner is a built-in brie flyer made of polyester, a grid-shaped, moisture-absorbing, quick-drying and elasticity. The moderate stretch makes it easy to stretch and there is no discomfort when worn without underwear. Unlike Strider Pro's brief type, the newest type is that it is boxer shorts-shaped. It seems that they emphasized not only during activities but also in more relaxed situations.

In any case, there was no resistance to lifting my legs, and it supported me in a smooth and comfortable manner. It also has excellent breathability and makes sweat wicking, making it dry at all times so there is no shift in crotch. Haikyu mint deodorizing treatment makes it safe to use!

The waist is covered with a flat elastic band, and is also thick enough to allow for adjustment with a drawstring. As always, the carefully crafted and comfortable, with a soft, high fit and no roughness.

The wonderfulness of stress-free patterns even in large actions

The light feel of wearing, excellent cutting, and outstanding stretchiness make the feeling of exhilarating and openness during activities exceptional. Even if you lift your legs or open them, it's wonderful to see how comfortable it feels like you're wearing nothing.

Their quirkless looks and comfort that don't make you feel stuffy, making them easy to use, whether you can walk or run or relax in leisure, making them highly versatile and easy to use, which naturally blends in with a wide range of scenes.

Pockets are not just for activities, but for everyday use + α

As these shorts are called "Multi Trails," they are not exclusively specialized for trail running, but are designed to cover a wide range of activities.

This is simply shown in the zipper pockets on each side (photo below). It is deep and spacious enough to fit a large smartphone, making it easy to use. However, this construction makes it easier to sway when running, so it may not be suitable for people who run with lots of things in their pockets. On the other hand, they are convenient and easy to use in hiking, camping, and everyday situations where there is little movement, making it a glimpse of how these shorts are intended to be versatile and easy to use in a variety of situations.

There is one snap button pocket on the back (photo below). This one was also large enough to store a smartphone.

This back pocket is packable and can be wrapped up compactly by turning the main body over and rolling it up, and there is also a loop that can be used as a key loop or a carabiner loop. This also shows that this model is intended to be worn not only during daily training or races, but also to be carried on a variety of trips.

The durability and water repellency of the fabric is reasonably high

As I pointed out when I reviewed Strider Pro before, I also have this model that uses the same fabric. You need to be careful about durability against rubbing. If you continue to wear and stress with your backpack, you will start to notice fuzziness. There is a question mark as to whether it can last for a long time with tough use. Also, the water-repellent (DWR processing) was not overly reliable, just like the Endless Run Shorts.

Summary: Everything you need to keep running in nature in the heat

In addition to the comfort required to run through, these are the "endless run shorts Multi Trails Shorts " that aim to be worn naturally in a wide range of outdoor activities, not only for running, but also for hiking, camping, and leisure. The two running shorts are contrasting with their personality, and are light, comfortable to wear, highly practical, and sturdy and careful construction that are common to both of them, making them safe.
