This news came as a bit of a surprise to me, as I had actually come across this item by chance at Outdoor Retailer 2017, an outdoor equipment exhibition held in Salt Lake City last summer

While aimlessly browsing in the "VENTURE OUT" area, where a row of small, newly established brands line the streets, this wallet caught my eye. Its simple, minimalist design neatly holds the bare necessities, a stylish idea. It's neither high-tech nor high-fashion, but for some reason I was drawn to it, and as I gazed upon it with great interest, wondering if someone might bring it to Japan (I'm sure someone would notice it), the two friendly-looking young founders handed me a sample

A year has passed since then, and this wallet has been a great help in my daily life, just as I expected. Unlike in the US, where credit cards are sufficient for all kinds of purchases, electronic money is becoming increasingly common in Japan. Carrying my credit card, Suica and other electronic money (commuter's pass), and house keys in this wallet has greatly reduced the need to take out my large wallet. The rubber bands and keychain loops, which I was worried about, seem to be holding up well for now, so I'm pleased with the durability of the wallet

It was while I was making good use of it that the release information above came to our editorial department. Not only did I feel there was something fateful about this, but I also thought that this item itself was a wonderful item that I'm sure everyone else would love, so I decided to introduce it to you today
